How does that affect us as Lucario players?

**For those who may not know yet, MIDCape (MetaKnight Infinite Dimensional Cape) is a newly found technique that allows meta knight to turn invisible, move around freely, and is also rendered invincible!**

Video:http://youtube.com/watch?v=UBmCUuVZTd4

Although exceedingly difficult to perform and maintain as of now (Day of discovery) Within weeks/months, I feel this will become a common thing with MKs. What will we do about this?

I have a feeling something like this will probably be banned. It's the ability to go completely invisible, invincible and because of that, it will be used for stalling and probably not much more.

They'll probably only ban it if the guy doing it is stalling.

edit: nvm thankyee finally something is cheap enough to ban.

So it's been agreed on banning it then?
but even then, not EVERY tourney is ran by people on SWF... and then you've got online matches, friendlies, etc.

As far as I know, he CAN NOT do this in the air, so it's similar to Bowser's infinite jump, so take to the highest platform on the stage, as the attack out of dimension cape can end off the ground a tad.

If I'm going to put up with this in friendly matches or matches at home, I'm going to send these evil minions to BLOW UP A PLANET!

Considering it makes the MK invincible and invisible for as long as the player wants it will likely be banned for stalling.

I don't know if it will be a full ban, but I can't see how Tourny Directors will be able to properly judge if its stalling or not: what will the determining factor be at which point it will be considered stalling? Obviously time would be the only method to measure this, but what would the time limit be? And if a time limit is decided, what is to say someone doesn't simply stall by popping out right before said time limit runs out and restarting the infinite Cloak. What if one goes over the time limit but they weren't stalling? Furthermore, how would directors and organizers of tournaments be able to keep track of this besides having stop watches and hitting the button at the moment a Cloak starts?

The only way to actually determine whether it is stalling would be subjective, which is NEVER a good idea to use in a competitive environment. For these reasons I am expecting this technique to be fully banned within 2 months.

Its too bad, though: if MK were to become invisible but not invincible it would've actually made for some interesting tactics. But without any way to counter such an issue it can't be allowed to exist in tournament play.

On another note, though, why is this on the LUCARIO boards? Shouldn't it be in Brawl Tactical or Metaknight?

Tournies that deviate from SBR's own ruleset are usually crappy and discarded as so. If local friends are doing this to me, I'll kick them. Online sucks and if people insist on using it there then there's nothing stopping me from quitting the game and removing them from my list.

Is MK invincible when he is invisible? It's always been assumed, but I don't think it's been proven yet. Currently, I am assuming MK is invurnerable while performing this technique.

He is. He's about as vulnerable as Farore's Wind, really, except his startup has no hitbox and his ending hitbox is crap. :D

Either way, it wouldn't mean anything, anyways. The camera zooms as characters get closer, remember? Just keep moving and jumping, and his arm will get tired.

I hope it gets banned completely lolllz. There's usually a couple mediocre people desperate enough to master a broken technique for use in tournaments.

What a silly question.

Use your aura senses to locate him! What have you Lucario fans been doing all of this time? Fighters like Lucario don't rely on sight!
Good point :p THE AURA WILL GUIDE ME :3

I just put it here because I wanted to see how Lucarios would deal with it.

And Timbers...excellent point.

Lucario's aura can't sense gayness.

Is it right next to the mindgames, lives, or girlfriends?
Well... they realized that most of the people looking for gaydars are not interested in buying girlfriends. so they decided to mode them right next to the american idol karaoke games.

or... allow it, but ban inviso-MK's from having a name.
Invisible MK, just fell off the edge.

Seriously, if a MK player has to render himself invisible and invulnerable to win a match, that isn't cheap, thats pathetic.

I give anyone a negative gold star (first ever) if they use this glitch for anything else then showing it to someone and for Lols.
Cool find, but it will only make bad players worse.

Who says they're invisible? Just look at the name floating above his head to tell whereabouts he is.

Also, if they don't attack after a certain amount of time, you can claim they're stalling and they'll get penalised.

If they are going to attack, just wait for them to move in and shield. Dimension cape is supra-unsafe on block.

But... the name doesn't display during Cloaking...

Currently its very hard to do, but that doesn't mean keeping this up for a few minutes isn't achievable with practice. Its even fine if the player messes up every once in a while since that only makes them vulnerable for around 2 seconds. We'll have to see if anyone actually gets this working continuously (I wouldn't doubt it).

there you go... it dosent look that bad... just play wack a mole. and there is also a vid on how its done and that cstick is being jammed like crazy. So it looks pretty tuff to do it in a tournament and if they do it pour guilt and humiliation aura into them to make em cry lol

It's quite funny how everyone outside of the Meta-Knight section are in agreement that it should be banned while the majority of Meta-Knights on the boards are fighting tooth and nail for it to remain unbanned.

Pathetic and cheap play wins tournaments.

True story.

It can and will be used to stall. Meta is one of the faster characters in the game. He can easily use this from one side of FD to the other in 3 seconds, do a tornado or shuttleloop or something, and then do it again. Slower characters get heavily penalized from this, as he wouldn't be technically stalling if he stayed under this 3 second rule that people keep trying to suggest. He's still attacking, but goes unpunished by most of the cast, even moreso than he already is.

Even in a general light, it's clearly broken and a stall tech that can and will be used in conjunction to his other moves. He can use it for the 3 or whatever seconds that people keep whining for, and then use two or three safe moves and do it again. Also yeah, asking a TO to time a dimensional cape everytime it's used is insane. Meta players talk about how it won't be used to stall. What else is it going to be used for? It'll get around campers, and really big-whoop. Whorenado and powershielding does the same thing.
