So yeah, I'm 19 today... sorta. I had the luck to be born on February 29th, so not even the government is sure whether I'm 19 yet. I quite literally got told to wait until March 1st until I go to a bar or anything, just to be safe, because they aren't sure. Aside from temporarily setting my birthday to the 28 on things that allow it, it's not too bad. Except for one thing.

Just a bit of a mini-rant here: It's not funny to say "OH, you're 4 3/4!" It got old years and years ago. It stopped being funny after the first time. You might think you're being funny and original, but YOU AREN'T. I've heard the same thing over and over again.

There we go, as I said, a mini-rant.

Well, at least you're confirmed for being 19 regardless of where you are now.

Parents that have kids on February 29th are jerks. Your mom probably tried to give birth purposely on that day to troll you for life.

I know Spain doesn't have a drinking age limit, just that the bar tenders/sellers of alcohol choose who to serve. At least that's what someone has told me.
Currently in Spain people can't buy alcohol until the age of 18. But that's just the law, many tenders don't even ask for documentation to teenagers who "look like 18", so yeah...many young guys drink whatever they want without much effort.

Some years ago the limit was 14.

Can't you start drinking at 14 or some ridiculous age in Ireland?
LMAO. In Bavaria (best part of germany, hands-down), you can drink low-% alcohol (realistically up to 7% or something; basically as long as it's not distilled) starting at 16 and any starting at 18. However, you never get carded. The bars pretty much don't care. When someone asked me for ID when I went to buy a bottle of Vodka today (I'm 17) I just answered, "Uh, don't have it on me... I normally don't get asked". The person behind the counter replied, "With a voice like that, you've gotta be 18... here's your .75 liters of 40% ethanol content vodka!"
The moral: if you have a deep bass voice, you can get anything. :D

There is no federal drinking age. Just a purchase and possession age(21). So technically you could drink in your house at any age.
So my dad isn't breaking the law by giving me this recreational drug? (I love my family)

It sucks **** to be american. 21 is absurd.
AFAICT, if there's only criminalization of possession and sale, your parents can give you booze whenever...
