Really wish I could see a storm of over 10 inches again.
Pretty sure we haven't seen anything like that in 10 years or more. It's funny that Dallas, Texas actually got that, and we didn't...
But we did have the first blizzard in recorded history where I live this last Christmas Eve. It was soooo awesome! It was 9 - 10 inches in the end. That was actually the highest amount in several years itself.
It has been a good winter anyway. Considering the fact that we've only hit 60 degrees (and only got up to around 62) twice since winter officially started, this is a winter I can approve of. Those 60 degrees days happened literally the day before the big winter storms. (That's Oklahoma for you.)
We would get a ton more snow if our winters actually stayed cold. But as I said I can approve of this winter. Those "warm" days were nothing compared to the last two to three years where it got up into the 80s on occasion during the middle of winter. Fail, I know. In 2006 it was 93 degrees on March 1st. In 2008 it was 85 degrees on December 26th. (my birthday. T_T) There's just no escaping the heat here. I hate it.
So the fact that we had that blizzard, and the fact that the snow was still on the ground for nearly a month couldn't be anymore shocking. Last winter's "big snow storm" completely melted in less than 24 hours because it was in the 70s the next day.
