It's been a long time since the previous rules were written, and since I'm the new overlord of the PRoom, I've decided to make a new, updated FAQ thread. This thread will also stay open, in case you guys have any questions or suggestions. Let's get started!
FAQs
Infractions
Infractions are little red cards that we award to those of you who have done wrong. Each infraction is worth a different amount of points. You're allowed six infraction points before you're banned. Amount of points per infraction depends on the severity of the rule you break. Luckily, with only a few exceptions, infraction points do expire over time. Infraction expiration lengths are also dependent on the severity of your infraction. Some infraction points never expire. Please try your hardest to read, understand, and follow the rules. 1. Usergroups
Smash Back Roomers
Members of the Smash Back Room have purple usernames, and have access to one or both of the Smash Back Rooms. In order to be considered for Smash Back Room admittance, you'll have to wait for an annual SBR application. The moderators in charge of the Brawl Back Room are Marc, Hylian and AlphaZealot, while HyugaRicdeau, Cactuar, unknown522 and Umbreon are in charge of the Melee Back Room. If you have any questions, I'm sure they'll be happy to help you in any way possible.
Smash Researchers
These fellas are responsible for digging deep into the Smash series by finding frame data, developing various mods, and other in-depth facts of the Smash series. The mod in charge of Smash Researchers is SamuraiPanda. Admissions will be given to those proven worthy.
Premium Members
Premium Members who donate to the site are rewarded with a bunch of cool toys, one of them is a usergroup of their own with a lime green colour. If you want to read up more on the other cool things Premmies get, click here. And speaking of premmies...
Pranked! Members
Premium members have the ability to prank other members, making their username pink by putting them into the Pranked! usergroup (can be disabled) Their name is pink and title is changed to Pranked! Oh the hilarity!
Back Roomers
These guys tote green names, and small Grimers in their postbit. These members, (commonly referred to as BRoomers), have access to The Back Room, which is basically just a hideout from the rest of the forums. In the same fashion as the Smash Back Room, the Back Room is invitation only. In order to gain access, you need to be noticed as a fun, interesting, smart, or useful person. It's been said that the more you try to get back there, the less likely you're going to. We notice good posting when we see it-- you don't have to try to stand out! The moderators in charge of BRoom admissions are Evil Eye and Scavenger382.
Debaters
The pink names are for the Debater group. Members of this group are allowed to post in the Debate Hall. To gain access, check within the Debate Hall forum for the current admissions process. Membership lasts as long as you post intelligently, and actively in the Debate Hall. If you're inactive, or if you're an immature/bad debater, you will be removed. The moderators of the Debate Hall are Crimson King, Evil Eye, Mediocre, and Zero Beat.
Writers
Orange names are denoted to those that have placed 1st-3rd in a WWYP (Write With Your Power) contest, or 1st in a Mini-WWYP. The WWYP forum is found as a sub-forum within the Creative Minds forum. The only way to receive the orange name is to win one of the contests... unless you're Mic_128, or Buzz. Because they cheated.
Moderators and Administrators
Mods and Super Mods are members with red names. Administrators have italicized grey names. Do not ask to be a moderator. We have a system worked out. Though this doesn't mean you can't play a part! If you have a particular problem with a post, click the Report Post button in your postbit. The rooms moderators will be informed, and they'll take care of it as soon as possible. If for some reason you have a reoccurring problem with a member, moderator, or a forum policy, take your problem to the Forum Support. The room is only viewable by admins, who will look over your complaint, and work things out with you there.
Oh yeah, and Hiemie is special because he has a black name. But really, he's just a

The small smash character heads in your postbit can be changed by goin' to UserCP>Edit Details>Smash Character. All Brawl characters, plus the 5 characters cut from Melee are available for display!
Premium Memberships
Premium Members are the few members that have the small little mushroom icon in their postbits. Premium Membership is on a pay-to-gain membership basis. Premium members get many cool perks, including a green name, pranks, custom user titles, and their own sub-forum.
PRoom Laws
SWF as a whole has global rules. Each forum within SWF sort of has their own guidelines. Welcome to the PRoom! Please follow these guidelines! Though these are specifically enforced in the PRoom, it wouldn't be a bad idea to take these Laws to the other sections of the forums, too.
Search
There's a search function. Before making any thread, please use the search function to find any previous threads that may already exist.
Bumping
In some cases, it's acceptable to bump old threads (after searching for them), in others, not so much. Please use your best judgment when bumping threads. Unless your bump is blatant spam, or it's not super old, I shouldn't really have a problem with it.
Read Stickies
Stickied threads are either extremely important to read, such as this one, or just some of SWF's most popular (and overly duplicated) threads, such as Las Pictoras and Youtube thread. Please skim over these threads before posting.
10characters, and other spammy memes.
Anyone that's posted on smashboards long enough has seen 10characters. 10characters is blatant spam, and abusing the system. 10characters, and all its variations, are a huge pet peeve of mine, and therefore, you will be given a spam infraction if you post them-- no matter how funny you think you are. Same goes for 'In before lock', rickrolls, and other memes.
Double Posting
Is considered spam, thanks to the amazingness of the edit button. In some instances, double posting is okay, ie reviving an old thread that you just so happened to be the last poster in. Once again, use your better judgment before doing so.
Controversial Conversations
Sexuality, relationships, abortion, etc-- these are all very controversial conversations, and better suited for the Debate Hall. If these threads are made in the PRoom, they will be heavily moderated, and closed at the smallest sign of aggression. Religion topics are not allowed.
Stupid Conversations
Age, gender, inside jokes, wishing that the blonde girl in the front row of your pre-algebra class would notice your haircut and stop calling you by a different name-- these are all very stupid conversations that can't really hold water. How long can you talk to someone about how old you are? Let's find out: I'm 20. The result? Approximately 2 seconds.

Playing Mod
You're not a moderator. This is in fact one of SWF's global rules, rule #8. Allow me to quote:
If you see a bad post, use the report button.the Global Rules said:8. Very Important If a topic is spam, DO NOT reply to it. The Moderators for the room will take care of it. Even if it isn't spam, just a topic that doesn't need to be there, don't post anything like "closes" in it. Also, DO NOT correct someone and tell them the rules. If we catch you doing this, you'll be in big trouble. This is probably our most-broken rule on the boards, and oftentimes people correct a "Spammer" while breaking a rule at the same time. Examples of things not to post:
a. You're stupid!
b. Get outta here, spammer!
c. This is in the wrong room!
d. This is going to get closed.
e. You're in trouble!
f. Can't you read the rules?
g. *tries to close, fails*
h. *closes*
Signatures
Signatures should not be longer than your post. If they are, we can slam you with a signature violation. Make sure that your signature isn't bigger than your actual post-- and that goes horizontally and vertically. So yeah, if you post two lines, and your sig is eight lines, that' a no-no too.
**Posting solely to point at the content in your signature will now be considered SPAM. If your signature is relevant to a topic, copy and paste it.
Forum Games
Belong in the Forum Games forum. It's common sense, but people tend to post them in here anyway. If you want to play any fun forum games, check it out-- it's only two forums down on the list.
Chat Logs
Don't post them.
If any of you have any comments, please let me know.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please go to the question or suggestion topic, and please make sure your question has not already been answered. Thanks!
