Pokéball Pokémon: Blaziken

Blaziken is a pretty popular Pokémon but I think the ship's sailed for them to be playable plus I lowkey find them boring, but they can be a Pokéball, why not? Don't know why it hasn't happened yet.

As for what it'd do, he can move around fast and do fiery kicks.

Guess I gotta be the one to nominate everyone's favorite dot muncher. We just added Pac-Maze, so I find it only fitting that Pac himself return to the fray. With Namco presumably helping with development once again, Pac-Man feels about as fundamental a part of Smash as some of the most established first party fighters. And he's just got a terrific and fun moveset paying homage to timeless arcade games. Really though, his inclusion just speaks for itself.

Pac-Man already has a stage in the game and makes sense in general since Namco are likely making this. Capcom having a character makes sense and while I like Mega Man, Street Fighter feels more iconic and more currently relevant, plus I think it's good to have more genre reps and foreign games are a big one. Steve is a somewhat controversial option but with him being one the the biggest additions I think it makes sense to keep him.

These three + Sonic are in my opinion the most fundamental third party lineup, if any of these guys are missing then there's a problem. While I believe Mega Man and Ryu have equal merit to be here, I will give Rock the slight nod here on the basis of seniority and feeling like he's kind of assimilated into the Smash family in the most organic way of any third party. He just shows up in other character trailers like it's no big deal.
