Been enjoying Ultimate so far (the online bites though).

Maybe I haven't found the right player yet, but I feel like people are exaggerating how broken K. Rool is. He's been combo food for both of my mains, and Rosalina can constantly harass K. Rool if he's stupid enough to forget Gravitational Pull exists and throws his crown anyway.

I have absolutely no sort of history or knowledge on anything Persona, but I know that Joker was a fairly commonly requested character, so all I can really say is a big congratulations to all the supporters and Persona fans.

I am always very happy to see a new franchise be introduced to Smash, though.

I find it funny that I've unlocked over half the roster at this point but I still haven't unlocked Luigi. He really does get the short end of the stick.

Bowser’s Classic mode is a war against comunism.

He doesn't fight Marx though.

Also, is it just me, or does max difficulty classic mode honestly not seem that bad now that we don't have to deal with ****ing Master Core?


Like, if VINNY from Vinesauce can do well enough to get into the 9.0s while playing casually on release day, surely people have to be overestimating these CPUs, or maybe Classic Mode is just easier than 9.0s.

It's mostly the character unlock battles that give me trouble. Classic Mode is fairly easy for the most part.

Bah... Who am I kidding? I really want to make a ****post, but I'm too giddy over this game and the announcement from previously. Speaking of which, I'll be covering just that. Onto the good stuff before closing off with my own final thoughts! Of what, you may ask? Joker of course!

First, a HUGE congratulations to the Phandom! It must feel great getting your Most-Wanted in the roster. I can't even say, "Thank goodness it isn't Steve!" because that would be like comparing Joker to trash [smug, smug]

That's great to hear! Ever since Joker got confirmed, there's no point in supporting Demi-Fiend anymore, at least in terms of what we can deem a candidate for the Fighter's Pass. Therefore, my new list of Most-Wanted characters in order are KOS-MOS, Dante, Arturia, Reimu, and 2B. Let's hope for the best, NineS!

And now, for my closing thoughts... Wow, it's insane to think we finally got a Shin Megami Tensei rep in Super Smash Bros., and from the Persona series no less! As far as RPGs go, we've got almost everything in the Fantasy Kitchen Sink, varying genres included: Pokemon, Earthbound, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Final Fantasy, and now Shin Megami Tensei/Persona. I'm still at a loss for words.

This whole thing becomes a funny coincidence because we have Inklings playable, and the default female has been compared to Futaba and vice versa. Something about Joker being in the same game as her makes this hilarious. There's also another factor to consider for Joker's inclusion: We finally got ourselves the true Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem. Ha!

I find it funny that those mentions are basically just the supporter list at the first page that doesn't include the rest of everyone. LOL

Granted, I may not be any better to talk since I don't know exactly how much of us there are since then. And I am very well aware that there's someone out there that does that job in various support threads (I haven't checked other support threads but he did the same thing for the KOS-MOS thread).

Thanks for the mention, dude. I can't speak for everyone but personally but seeing Joker's reveal was like like the dream I thought I didn't wanted come true! Takes me back to when P5 launched, blowing my mind for the entirety of my summer. Happy to be a fan of the series since Persona 3 FES!

Now all that's left is KOS-MOS! The only character I care about at this point. Let's hope she drops for us supporters who would love to experience her beloved trilogy series one day, and to some of us who would love to go back and re-experience it once again.

I still plan on getting into Xenoblade at some point. I did play a Xeno game recently this year and that was Gears! I'm confident in saying that of the best decisions I ever made!

The general Smash fandom has an obsession with brand loyalty. But Nintendo doesn't care about console wars, or whether a company is "loyal" to them. They are not afraid of advertising for a game that's only on the other systems.

Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, Street Fighter, Castlevania, and now Shin Megami all began on Nintendo, sure, they may have history with Nintendo, in the general sense, but for basically the last two decades they've all avoided publishing any of their major games on a Nintendo console. The third parties go where the market goes, and Nintendo hasn't been the leading console manufacturer since the SNES.

Nintendo is keenly aware that Playstation and Xbox get all the big third party games. But Smash offers Nintendo something Sony and Microsoft can only dream of: an opportunity to capitalize on the success of their competition.

Look at how that Joker trailer was structured. The fact that it's a Smash trailer is the twist. Nintendo is not using Smash to advertise a game on a competitor's console. They're using a game on a competitor's console to advertise Smash.

I'm not confused about how, but why? How is easy, why is what I'm trying to figure. I'll say though, at first I was disheartened (mostly by Reggie's words), as I didn't get Goemon, but somehow I'm at all not mad of Joker's inclusion. I don't know why, maybe because I knew of the series a little and I acknowledge that it's cool, maybe because my friend is a huge Persona fan, maybe because it's a fresh entrey, maybe its that anime trailer. All in all, I don't seem to able to get mad about Joker. Unlike every DLC XD, this is the first DLC that I think.. Ok, not bad. I still want to know why though, what made that choice.

Just shows that perspectives differ depending on which circle a gamer is in. Fighting, Shooting, RPGs, JRPGS.. etc.
But sure, when you hear about a game not in your circle it means it expanded enough to be noticed.. case of Persona to me

I mostly agree with your points.

However, i feel that with the Switch the situation has changed: publishers like Activison have started already to bring many of their properties to the system after seeing high benefits (CTR for example will be a launch title).

It is true that Nintendo has used titles exclusive to other systems as a way to promote Smash, but at the moment the third party developers are also bringing a lot of their products to the Switch, apart of the PS4.

Nintendo has changed after the Wii U.
