I feel like this is going to be a controversial opinion...

While “everyone is here!” Is really truly super cool...
Am I the only one who would’ve preferred that they didn’t spend time on cut veterans and instead spent time developing more “new” newcomers?

Dixie, Elma, banjo, Geno, BWD and others(in my head) would’ve appealed to me much much more.

Nevertheless, I’m still super excited and I am happy that Pokémon trainer and Pichu are back

I wanna say they could have, but who knows if that necessarily would have been better. I may not have gotten any new Sonic or Xeno characters, but Metroid got lots of love and I'm content with that.

what if smash ultimate only had 12 characters?

This completely is besides the point. Square-Enix isn't just not putting more than 2 songs, they aren't even putting in Spirits outside of MarioRPG, but no FF or other franchise stuff despite Cloud being playable. No Assist Trophies either, literally nothing.

You have Konami of all things giving Castlevania over 20 songs and Spirits too, there's really no excuse. Then you look at Cloud and his weird barely colored alt colors.

I really don't know how anyone can defend these baffling decisions from SE.

Cue the "Square-Enix isn't the big bad Boogeyman that people make him out to be. Square just decided not to put stuff. That's it." comments.

I'd rather have 2 more Namco reps than 1 additional underrepresented second SE rep. Baffling if true for the latter.

That usmash looks so clean now.

He looks polished which is what he needed. I will kind of miss his idle stance though. Something about it suited him. His new one is fine, though.

Only fsmash got ruined. Pointless change and seems far less useful.

FSmash at least got a buff in knockback though, so it's not all bad.
Though I am going to the ridiculously long range of that move.

And he definitely has the best looking Up Smash in the game. Hands down.

In fact, that's why Sephiroth is even more unlikely.

Pffft. Nah. Thing is, the music issue would apply to any other Square franchise because of their stingy nest, unles it's DLC that they can profit off of.

Also there's a ton of difference in ''A bunch of Final Fantasy songs are missing in Dissida/Theatrhthym/spin-off" and

''There's a bunch of FF songs missing in a Nintendo game."

One is probably going to be easier to bargain for and get people come in line with. There's also the fact I'd imagine there'd be less control of remixes for the Square composers unless they were working on Smash themselves when it comes to remixes.

Honestly from what I have seen of him I can see him being a salty AF player when he feels like he can get away with it. Not sure he would be getting into competitive though. Likely will just announce that he will be making Smash one of his main games to stream to get even more views.

Nintendo Switch is such a port machine that loads of fans of certain series (ex: Metroid, Golden Sun, etc) are basically waiting on a HD port for the series. So there is loads of expectation around.

5. a Persona 5 dancing game announcement and release
6. a Persona 3 dancing game announcement and release
7. a Persona Q sequel announcement and release date

while their presence at Tokyo Game-Show, the Japanese E3, be about Persona Q2, that fanfic crossover game announced just a few months before.

I love how people here ignore that Sakurai and the team likely make decisions about what to add and ask for too and assume that Square is just holding away things that would further advertise their brand.....because we as the consumer didn't get all the stuff we want.
I also love how we assume the stuff other series get is some kind of love package to the developers that comes free of charge rather than the likely required advertisements and extra charges to Nintendo to get the rights for that content if not just holding the character rights hostage if they don't get that extra stuff.

...The first 3 AA games are getting an HD port released on everything. They announced it months ago.

Am I missing something? They already announced the trilogy being ported. Unless they are announcing AA4-6 being ported at the VGAs...which would be a little odd considering the series tends to do announcements in Japan-related events.
