Official Smash Ultimate Discussion

Almost one month has passed since release. In retrospect....

  • This is by far the best Smash ever. Like, I don't even know how they will top this.

  • Pretty freakin' good; I have a few qualms over things like internet play, balancing issues, etc.

  • It's ok, but [insert Smash game here] is better.

  • I'd rather play Parcheesi.

With a story mode coming, it is possible that we can get Sephiroth as a Boss at the very least; so that would be pretty cool. Who knows; it could be a 'secret encounter' boss somewhat like how Dracula supposedly is on the Castlevania stage.

Man, I feel like I have to have two separate lists of 'hopes' now. What I hope to see as a boss and what I hope the DLC ends up being (along with what stages now that I think about it).

We don't have a confirmed singer for Lifelight. All we know is that it's not Rena Strober.

The main names being thrown out right now are Utada Hikaru, Amalee, and Christina Vee, and I would personally throw in Skye Bennett, but none of them sound exactly like the singer. Out of the three of them Utada Hikaru sounds the most like her though.

I have seen one criticism about it on gamefaqs last I was there but that seemed to be because one of the ones changed was the closest to that persons looks originally.

Lifelight vs the Goldeneye theme.

Which one is better?
I like the Goldeneye theme a bit more due to the stronger use of instruments.

So for a SE rep, since The World Ends with You was a DS title and now got ported onto switch, what are the odds its Neku Sakuraba?

Also think we are due for some other Sega and Namco character.

Crazy picks for Namco would be something like a God Eater or Code Vein rep but lets face it, if they get a rep at all it would be a tales character. Most likely Llyod.

No saying Fountain of Dreams as that's too easy.

Well, I dunno if this was further discussed or not, but those dice in the Direct definitely don't have the Adventure Mode logo; it's much different than on the Smash website.

However, while it looks pretty close to the Nobody symbol from Kingdom Hearts, the bottom part doesn't match up (and there seems to be a line through it as well, but it still seems different otherwise), though it could be the blur; so it's either that, an oddly-shaped anchor, or something else.

Probably, but I think it could be a wild card, like Klonoa (due to movie deal), Ms. Pac-Man (due to semi-Echo opportunities), or Siegfried/Nightmare (Soul Calibur VI).

Honestly, I love the new Battlefield and Final Destination designs. Can't choose between them!

Spirits. Star Spirit.

A puppet master villain turning good guys into puppets.

Heartless themes.

Big voice singer theme song.

Sora travels to worlds.

In before it literally just ends with Sora and Geno saving the day and is all ''SORA AND GENO COMING AS DLC."

I noticed that too.
It would be great if Sakurai was teasing Geno and Sora, but we can’t confirm that.

The date suggested is also the one when Youtube releases on Switch according to a rating.

Is he gonna have Kingdom Hearts Sora look or Kingdom Hearts II/III little more mature look?

Both? He can't have both obviously, right? Proportions would be all weird.

In that case I'd say Great Bay because I love that stage and the touchup it got was great.

Otherwise, Dracula's Castle and Corneria both look beautiful.

I just hope he has the OUTFIT from the original, even if it's an alt. costume of the more mature version.

I personally think KH2 is his most iconic, but I can see Sakurai going with any of the three. KH1 has a look that's really unique, and KH3 if Squenix pushes him to put it in to help promote that game.

Didn't you start out as Kirby in Subspace too? Interesting. Doesn't mean anything, just interesting that both adventure modes start with him.
