I hope the direct starts off with a reveal that just throws a wrench in all the leaks. I don't wanna see the first reveal, and be like oh so the banner is confirmed, no more surprises this direct.

My guy, serious question, like direct series question

Why do you browse/frequent threads such as this one which spend 90 percent of the time talking about and analyzing leaks if you want to be surprised by the reveals? We're about a month away from release, expecting there to be no massive leak is naive, u got nobody but yourself to blame at this point

And I only single you out because this sentiment is one I see often. Like why do you guys stick around knowing the risk

• Says Isabelle is here.
• He is also the one who says ICs and Snake is here.
• He also is the one who says Ken is here, in which we already confirmed that Ken existed.

He is one of the OGs of Smash leakers and one of the most trusted. I just dont get why people hated him despite his sources being near 100%

the smash community has never really liked legit leakers when they pop up. i remember that some of the legit brawl leakers got **** on by the community because people didn't like the characters they leaked. then there was gematsu and the ESRB leak which had people scrambling to disprove them ( i remember everyone celebrating when gematsu got blown out of the water with robin's reveal) why? mostly because legit leaks don't have the characters that people want.

• Mentions Ridley, - this was leaked by someone else too i think restera mods.
• Mentions Simon is coming - Stealth leaked it a month ahead of verge

The rest of the leak can be real for all I care; we just need a reveal at the start that puts people on their toes. And as much as Banjo makes sense as the final trailer, there needs to be some at the end that's genuinely shocking (in a good way, Sakurai).

...Final Fantasy was literally influenced by Dragon Quest. The latter created the former's genre. Any cultural impact Final Fantasy has had has been a direct result of Dragon Quest. By that metric alone Dragon Quest is and always will be more influential than Final Fantasy.

Feels like people are latching onto any insider who talks since there's nothing left to analyze in the image. It can't be Thursday any faster.

It's not... I literally did this yesterday, it's the bike.

It took me a while to finally see how Mach Rider is positioned too.

He's actually sideways, or partially at an angle facing Roy. The "Skull Kid" Mask is the engine, it looks remarkably similar to one if you focus. The front wheel is partially behind Roy and the rear wheel is behind Inkling. The only thing I don't get is what is above his helmet.


Seriously don't think a fake leaker is doing this lol.

So long as you're willing to add "and the Mario community" to that, I can accept that answer. You have no idea how much of Geno I saw before I actually got to play Mario RPG myself, and it certainly wasn't due to Smash.

If you want to argue echo chamber for two of some of the most popular franchises in all of gaming, with a lil bit of Final Fantasy sprinkled in there... Sure. "Echo chamber".

See, I was about to let it go until you put quotation marks around "echo chamber". And now I feel you're taking an objective observation personally. If I change the term will it not come off as harsh? Because I'm really not trying to come off as harsh but I feel like I'm still not being understood.

Here's an example. Geno is popular within this community-- and Mario's, sure, if you want to, though that's a stretch considering the worldwide appeal of the franchise to casual audiences who have no idea what the **** a Geno is-- in the same way, say, Rebecca Chambers is in Resident Evil. Many who know and love Resident Evil know who she is from the minor role she played in the original and her starring role in the prequel. When she was added to Mercenaries Reunion in RE5, her fans were ecstatic. This is all great, and she's popular. Woohoo.

If I were to then say that Rebecca Chambers is the most popular Capcom character, though, I'd be so wrong. She's not even the face of her own franchise, nor is she a recurring character outside of her small role. Far, far, far more people can name Jill Valentine or Leon S. Kennedy than they can Rebecca Chambers. Even more people can name Ryu. Or Mega Man. Doesn't diminish her fans (me), but saying that she's the most popular, or even one of the most popular, characters is a measurable falsehood. It's not meant to be negative at all, and this observation doesn't diminish her or Geno's "deserving" of a roster spot in their respective games. I hope he gets in. But "most popular?" Not by any measure outside of the Smash community during hype cycles. And comparing his popularity to the likes of Final Fantasy is like a squirrel picking a fight with a family of bears.

That's not a bad thing at all! Everyone loves an underdog. And liking a lesser-known character makes it all the more personal for you. I know, because my Smash wish was Daisy. And I wanted Daisy so badly-- but I never kid myself into thinking she was more popular than Pokemon. Or even Peach. Or... Toad. I hope Geno fans get the same moment I did when I saw Daisy come onscreen. Because it feels amazing.

But c'mon. Most popular? C'mon.

Insiders are getting FAR too chatty now for my liking. I honestly am starting to believe some of it is for attention if they are talking this much about supposedly secret information.

Imo they're just trying to play down expectations and fill the air until judgement day. I don't know who to believe when they're all contradicting each other, rather I think Nintendo's forcing them to act this way to throw off suspicions.

Smash 4's April Direct was 35 minutes and the only new character shown was Greninja. The 50 Fact Extravaganza was also 35 minutes and had no newcomers to show (with Bowser Jr.'s trailer stuck in).

...I think you should be able to see what this suggests.

Neither of those are good arguments. The April Direct did not show one, it showed five. Sheik, ZSS, Yoshi, and Charizard were all held back because of the major changes that had been made to them, and of course the last tied into Greninja's reveal. The 50-Fact's focus wasn't characters, it was selling the Wii U version to people who had already bought the 3DS one. By that time revealing characters barely mattered because the cat was long out of the bag and it was moreso just to maintain hype. This Direct, we are absolutely getting whoever is left and with 40 minutes + Treehouse right after they can absolutely reveal 7 characters in that time.

You can think the leak is fake, but just saying...

At this point, "too good to be true" or "too many wishlist characters" are not valid arguments.

Yeah, it's not like there was some huge official ballot several years ago that we knew and have seen evidence of being used for future roster picks. Nope, this is just another Smash game guys, go home.
