btw my "quality bowser arms" post was meant to disprove that, lol. it certainly wouldn't be THAT easy to rearrange fighters like that and maintain the level of quality in each of the individual drawings, because if the fake leaker in question did it like any average joe on the street, then yeah we'd see ****ty bowser arms like that among other glaring issues.

so... assuming he put more effort into this banner than the average resetera user, we once again return to the point where why would some kid go through something so meticulous as that just for a fake leak?

of course that question doesn't prove anything but no, i don't think that gif is punching any holes.

If some random ****** at ResetEra can pull this in 24 Hours and clean up half of the pictures while having medium drawing skill, what tell you that someone with twice the time of a months couldn't do much better, only to hide the bad artwork of newcomers in a tiny picture?

Why would this banner be printed incomplete?

The banner will always be incomplete if there is DLC. So even if that is the base roster, I doubt it'll be the last iteration of the banner.

Jo-ha-kyu is a Japanese theatre aesthetic commonly seen in movies these days, but originates from Noh drama. Jo-ha-Kyu is slow build up, then a sharp climax and sudden end. They cream over this aesthetic in gaming, movies, everything really. They could take inspiration from this aesthetic for the final direct.

Yeah, that's why I'm leaning towards Team Fake at the moment. That picture looks increasingly less impressive.

Nothing concrete, but I feel like staying cautiously pessimistic is more logical at this point.

A guy in ResetEra do this in 24h showing that it's possible and now it becomes "UH! NINTENDO THEMSELVES CAN MOVE FIGHTERS AROUND! SO EVERYONE CAN"

Like, cm'on, it was just a way to show that IT IS possible, not that IT WAS what happened.

I really don't know why people are so amazed by this, people saying this would be impossible to do I guess have never heard of photoshop. This also isn't what will make or break the leak, never has been.

Going to leave thread for some time, we are all going in circles right now and I hope that something new is found when I come back.
Also, still on Team Real on it.
Insiders whole reason to be believed is "just trust me", with the only exception being SW having a streak.
All of the Linkedin stuff is probaly real, since they had the same location of study and the time frame matches with Marina's statement.
The only way for it to be debunked would be:
1-Nintendo revealing something deconfirming it, be it one of the leaked characters on a different place than on the leaked mural or one of them getting AT'd
2-The new industry saying something about it, wich will not happen for some time since its involvement on the case is recent, and since most people probaly jumped ship after Marina's statement on it, it will take some time till the rumors reach their ears

instead of being a dingus, you could reason that based on sakurai's reputation with this sort of thing, taking his word as the gospel truth- whether or not it supports a character you really want - is unreasonable and isn't an argument either way. sakurai said a lot of things that he went back on.

Of course you smartass, we should take everything he says seriously because he's the ****ing director. him going back on his word with ridley or saying that there won't be as many newcomers on smash 4 doesn't magically invalidate the fact that he's done nothing but reaffirm that there won't be that many newcomers in this game. I mean why the **** would he be lying? why does he keep emphasizing that bringing everyone back was incredibly difficult and time consuming? why did we have so many dry spells without any sort of meaningful information despite the shortened speculation period and the fact that we apparently still had 7 newcomers left? more importantly why the **** did he leave 7 newcomers to be revealed in the span of a month? because he's le ebin troll? because hype? all of those are just assumptions yet us non-believers are the ones with nothing but smoke as our reasoning. give me a ****ing break.

Other characters could still be in the base game, since promo art can change at any time (it has with every reveal thus far). Although it seems unlikely, you can't really rely too much on the "Everyone is Here" banner staying the same since it's very prone to change.

Why not? We have gotten plenty of material without the full roster on it before. Iirc when the game went up for preorder there were leaflets with the mural image and revealed characters at the time given out so it wouldn't really be all that odd.

Fake or not, at least we actually have something to work with. My only concern is that if the Grinch Leak is deconfirmed, then all those who poured all their hope juice into it won't be pleased with what we do get. We have history of this. Better to be Team 50/50.

Most of them aren't totally blurry like this so are debunked pretty quickly.
