Well, I want a Dreamcast mini.

I will only buy a Dreamcast mini if they include Project Justice, an English translation of Shenmue II, Cannon Spike, and online support for fighting games, Chu Chu Rocket and Phantasy Star Online.

Otherwise, my current Dreamcast suits me just fine.

I might buy it, as well. It's not like I play Pokemon for its deep story, amazing graphics or hardcore RPG elements and it honestly looks fun, if a bit expensive.

I'm mostly interested in the co-op no matter how broken it may be. My boyfriend and I can play a "traditional" (as much of a stretch that is) Pokemon game together and that's awesome.

Also I wanna do this rating thing - totally on topic. And it's not just based off how they play but also the character.

Thinking about Microsoft and platformers, they actually made a few of their own back in the Xbox Classic days before fully embracing the console shooter trend they helped kickstart.

You hear Blinx being talked about in a "they wanted him as mascot over Master Chief? LOL" way but no-one talks about Voodoo Vince... at all really.

Not to get too off topic (I can't believe I started a discussion on the quality of Star Wars films...), but I wager to think people undersell how Let's Go will perform with hardcore Pokemon fans as well.

I'm not even hyper hardcore (having owned every single game and spin off) but I've played at least one game from each gen (multiple for some) and defintely still plan on picking this one up.

Want my educated guess? There will be a vocal group on the internet ****ting on Let's Go and calling it trash, but it will still sell amazing. Maybe not as good as let's say Sun & Moon, but enough to be in the top 3 or so best selling Switch games. - Also sidenote I wonder what the Japanese perception of this game is. I feel like most oppinions I've seen about it have been Western so that's something to think of. Ok I'm way off Smash so -

I agree with this so much.

I don't even like it, I think it looks lame as hell, but people saying it'll sell badly are kidding themselves.
Never doubt the power of casuals, or the people who'll buy it just because Pokemon's on the cover. Or the people getting it because they want a Meltan even if they think the game looks bad (like me).
I expect it to sell 9-10 million at least. Not as much as Sun and Moon or X and Y, but certainly good.

It's Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie, not Banjo & Kazooie and Banjo & Tooie. I can definitely see Nintendo getting the rights to get some Rare games. GoldenEye 007 is iconic on the console, and at least one of the Banjo-Kazooie games should be there.
Would make for a good opportunity to reveal Banjo-Kazooie as DLC for Smash, too.

This excited me so much until I saw the follow up match with Marth. But so far Ridley has made it to the finals (Madrid) and won one "tournament" (UK) so I don't think he's gunna do that bad in the Meta. Well idk, there are still like 40 other characters.

I have no doubt in my mind that Let's Go is going to sell millions of copies. It's a mainline Pokemon game on the Switch, that in itself will sell the game.

That being said, I don't think it's going to sell on the level of X/Y, Sun/Moon, and OR/AS. For 2 main reason:

1. No matter how you look at it, this game is designed more for people who're newer to the Pokemon series, than long-time fans. It is alienating a certain section of the fanbase.

I know that Pokemon 2019 is a thing, but I only looking at LGPE as an individual entity, not as a lead-up to another game.

2. The Switch's player base, while growing rapidly, is still smaller than the 3DS' player base, regardless of how active that player base is. Less people having the system usually = less copies sold.

After all these years, Melee players finally get what they wanted.

You'd be surprised. I'm sure there's more than a handful of people who aren't fans of Pokemon but expect a gen 7 fighter rep "BECAUSE VERGEBEN" or "BECAUSE OF COURSE THERE IS"

I mean, fair enough, I guess, but gambling against the grain is more satisfying than betting on the obvious answer.

In our defense, Pokemon is the only franchise to have a newcomer in every Smash game, not to mention the fact that being a franchise with over 800 potential candidates, why not have any more Pokemon reps?...

Well Fire Emblem has had a new rep in every game they’ve been in aswell, and technically the Mario series as a whole (including DK, Yoshi, and Wario) has someone new all the time. Though I don’t have a problem with Pokémon getting a new rep, not getting one in a future Smash game wouldn’t be painful. mean...Zelda has it worse than the other series with tons of reps

- 13 characters with 12 being original regardless of their fighting style
- 7 characters with only 6 having an original fighting style
- 6 characters...but 3 of them are Links, 2 of them are Zeldas, and then the 1 Ganondorf
(Only bringing up FE here due to them slowly becoming a top Nintendo series)- 7 characters with only 4 being unique, 2 copying the og character, and the most recent addition being a copy of a copy while copying another character...but all but the redhead are popular among their series so yeah...high tier Nintendo series

Okay, now THIS is an interesting question:
If you were Sakurai, what third party character(s) would you try and go through to get in Smash?

Hands down: Phoenix Wright, Shantae, NiGHTS, Crash Bandicoot, Sephiroth, Sora, Demitri Maximoff, Undyne and/or Frisk from Undertale, Master Chief, and Llyod in that particular order of priority.

The thing is, Star Fox 2 was completely finished and ready for release, so it could be added onto the console with little to no extra development time. On the other hand, games such as Zelda Gaiden and Super Mario 64 2 went unfinished and were scraped before completion, meaning that it would require a lot more time and effort to put them on the console.

Upon further inspection each of those comments about the game in that image are unflattering and make it worse and worse each time I read it.

The variants of the old guys were fine but people like the wacky ones like the ice cream or the garbage bag.

I'd revise this to say that the target is non-main series fans (ie Go Players or people who tried/heard of Go), not necessarily genwunners (who I imagine frown upon the new wild battle mechanics).

I think a thing not a lot of people keep in mind is that Pokemon, Let's Go especially, is still very much geared towards children, and like it or not that is the audience they make the most money from. I 100% guarantee this game will sell decently with it's target demographic, and children will probably love the game.

Seriously, I do not understand all this drama with LG. Gen 8 is coming next year and will probably be shown off officially by like March. LG is a very, very harmless side game that will not hurt anything in the long run. The game you guys want is coming. Why hurl such venom at this game?

The first Pokemon games were geared towards kids. Either Nintendo thinks kids are dumber nowadays (in which case this release is an insult to their intelligence), or it's marketed towards non-fans as I've indicated above.

I read this as R2D2 and I was like absolutely, if R2D2 got into Smash his announcement would outshine every single character. Truly, Everyone Is Here.

The Last Jedi was not just a bad Star Wars movie; it was a bad movie, period. While it had interesting elements (the mind link between Rey and Kylo Ren at the forefront), the pacing issues, poor script and lack of logical thinking by some characters completely undermine the film (the 30-40 minute Po, Admiral Holdo and casino subplot being one of the worst major setpieces I've seen in a long time for a movie).

The Last Jedi was pretty good. Our problem is that the collective Star Wars community has revised history to think Return of the Jedi was good. The fact of the matter is that Star Wars as a franchise isn't anything particularly great on the whole. It just had one GREAT movie and dug its claws into our culture for the last forty years.

Star Wars is filled with mediocrity-to-pretty-good stuff. Expecting everything to be Empire Strikes Back levels is just asking to be bitter.

a realistic star wars fan. God bless you sir. you are a breath of fresh air. I remember watching star wars 6 as a kid thinking it was decent at best. Last jedi is enjoyable it breaks the traditional rules and doesnt treat the characters as perfect beings that always have the answer and do the right thing.

...Alright, I have ONE more thing to say in regards to Crunchii for those who still aren't sure about him. Sorry, I don't mean to drag this out since a lot of my stuff with him and my group of close friends is personal, but I just think this is the best example I can give.

A little after M&L Paper Jam was announced, a friend of mine posted a relatively clean cut of the game's boss theme by pain stakingly going through and splicing all the footage of the game from the treehouse and such without them talking over it and no sound effects. She spent almost 8 hours doing so, and it got pretty popular within closer circles of the Mario RPG comminity.

Crunchii, despite being active in our group of only 8 or so people, saw it fit to take that edit she did, upload it to his own channel as an extension referring to it as a "Clean Game Rip". Didn't credit her, refused to credit her (until we pretty much forced him to), lied to his followers about it being a clean rip from the game, and basked in the glory. That was one of the many, MANY tipping points with him that eventually led to us just leaving him in the dust and moving on. Dunno what we expected from a guy who uploaded clips of audio from streams with the voices and SFX still in tact and posts it as an "early rip with Sound Effects", but there ya go.

Everything "exclusive" he gets, he gets from someone else and touts it as his own. For views and nothing more. As Push said, the rip he got was from a Press Kit he wasn't meant to have in all likelihood. Crunchii DOES have sources, but definitely not sources who would know what's going on with Ultimate. He's an attention seeker above all else. So just try not to give him too much of it.

Sorry, this is just still a sour spot for me. Hard for me to see people talk about him and not get a bit livid for, again, mostly personal reasons. But still. I just had to make sure a few of my buds we're okay with me talking about this. Not that it'll matter in the grand scheme of things, considering I'm posting this here and not somewhere more public, but I clearly have a hard time shutting up sometimes, so here ya go.

You know I never liked Crunchii that much, and this doesn’t surprise me. I remember he uploaded the Sonic Mania OST so early that he used low-quality rips because he was that desperate for views.

And an Ian Malcom Assist Trophy (The Lost World is the best), with stages of Jurassic Park (with tyrannosaurus rex stage boss), Jurassic World (with velociraptors that can join your team if you win against them) and Isla Sorna (spinosaurus boss?). Playable Alan Grant and Owen Grady. Blue as a DLC character.

Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. I need dinosaurs in Smash someday, even if it’s something like that USF4 stage that’s blatantly a Jurassic Park homage.

I like Sonic 06.

Because I had forgot to answer my own question (lol):
If I were Sakurai, who'd I put in Smash if I could put anyone? I'd rush to Studio Pixel and Nicalis in a heartbeat and yoink Quote and Curly and throw them in the game along with Balrog as an Assist Trophy and Sand Zone as a stage (if not the Outer Wall).
