Shadow might not make it reguards to his reputation or appreance might make him too edgy for smash. And his moveset would similar to Sonics moves. Sakurai would probably make shadow a sonic clown but painted black and red colors.

I can get why it might seem that why but SEGA isn't Konami or Nintendo. I think he has a pretty good chance but it seems weird comparing third party characters with each other or Nintendo ones.

I'm aware that negotations differ.

I just also feel like Sega wouldn't really object to Shadow's inclusion if asked. Particularly since he was already an AT in the last game, and they allowed Knuckles as an AT in this game. I feel like Shadow not being in Ultimate would be due entirely to either Sakurai's decision or an attempt to make him a semi-clone instead of an echo, then running out of time/resources. Or he just did extremely poorly in the ballot.

Shadow isn't a recent request by any means. He's had a huge Smash following ever since Sonic got in. Heck, he was even the top characters for modding back in the Brawl days.

The only ones with more of a mod presence to my knowledge were Mewtwo and Roy.

But Shadow has had mods up the wazoo ever since even simple texture hacks were a thing.

Plus, we have Bayo and Ridley, so I don't think that would be a problem.

His final Smash would be the same being Super Shadow. The thing that would be different is his running animation being skating and his up special being chaos control (borrowed from Mewtwo's teleport) instead of the spring.

He's just about as edgy as Dark Pit, really.

Shadow being cut as an assist never to be seen again makes no sense.

Literally all Shadow's assist boils down to is the Stopwatch with a cool pose or two. There's no way his assist would take take a considerable amount of development time, which is made even more odd when you realize Knuckles is such a detailed assist trophy that he's almost an actual fighter. Seriously, he runs, digs, Spindashes, has a jump ball, Homing Attacks, Punches, he even has an actual dodge. Like really.

It's true that other assists have been cut before that have popularity (Issac), but as much as not many of us would like to admit it, myself included, cutting Shadow makes absolutely no sense given his popularity and ease of implementation. If he's not an assist, then that's only because they're doing something else with him.

...Spirits Boss Fight, maybe?

Being MIA worked out for Dark Samus and Isabelle, why not Shadow? Nobody ever threw around the theory that those two might be cut as a whole, but Shadow has that chance?

Well for one, size doesn't equate to more characters. For two, they're not exactly full characters, so the weightload might be different. Like Dark Pit obviously doesn't take as much time as Dark Samus. Perhaps they deemed Shadow a Dark Samus.

Shadow would make an awful boss. He'd be way too small to act as one effectively. It wouldn't play fairly across fighters as it would be quite difficult to hit him (having a very small hit box compared to Master Hand, Tabuu and Rathalos) for slower fighters like Ganondorf and Bowser. Also if you're working up a moveset for Shadow as a boss you might as well make him a playable fighter.

Edit: I should just note I actually don't expect Shadow to end up as an echo. I feel he'll either remain an Assist Trophy or be cut entirely.

Ok maybe edgy isn’t the reason but he’d probably just be a clone of sonic and I’d be fine with that as long as he’s a good playable fighter despite of his similar moveset to Sonics if he will have it or possibly differently depends on his size or model.

So with this new information of a potential release version of Ultimate being shown Nov 3rd. What are people feeling a direct will be shown?

November 1st or 2nd. It lines up to time with the bundle release as well, and I am assuming they want people to know the full roster before the ability to purchase the game

Kid Cobra's my favorite ARMS character Helix aside, I hope that part of your dream is true.

Kid Cobra's proportions might be too different to be an echo. I mean all of the ARMS characters have different proportions from each other, but Kid Cobra has this coiled lanky body. Ribbon Girl would be easier as she is only a little smaller than Spring Man.

Springtron would make a pretty good costume tbh. The rest of the ARMS characters all play the same but with minor changes and gimmicks, so any of them would be echo fighter material. Ribbon Girl is usually stated out of popularity, but any of them would work.
