The bar is a smash demo, they announced.

Wonder why they'd be so guarded about it if it was just that. Maybe they were worried about militant Smash fans organising a raid to grab a unit and get the sweet creamy code within.

This is odd. This is exactly what I said earlier. We already know that there are going to be demo booths at a lot of locations, so this is no expection. But this is odd, what did Nintendo mean by this special event? It couldn't be the demo booth, could it be?

Spirits, Online, Games and More, and Vault all need to be detailed, as well as the final fighters (Sakurai has stated all fighters will be shown off before release).

I really wouldn't worry about it. We'll get news soon. And even if we didn't, this game is 3 weeks away from being only a month away. It is coming out very, very soon, so it's not like we would have that much longer to wait regardless.

This always made the most sense. That's cool for them, really wish there was going to be demos anywhere near me.

I'm still thinking on us getting an announcement in a different way than a general direct tweet...I'm just not sure how.

I really don't see why people are getting angry.

Nintendo did not promise any Smash announcement, nor was there any ironclad indication or evidence that we were gonna get anything today. All that happened was a limited portion of the main menu theme was allowed to be posted, and someone affiliated with their marketing team may or may not have the game. None of that guaranteed news, so I'm a little confused what the outrage is for.

Yes there was, Nintendo of Canada being secretive about an event that ended up being something that isn't new.
I usually don't agree with people saying that the blog getting rid of the "NEW" icon means we are having a direct but this was on Nintendo this time.
