For people that dont play with items like myself honestly assist trophies are a huge bummer as it kills any hope of getting those fighters as DLC.

Either cancelled or still in limbo. Either way, we at least got Akuma in Tekken 7. Though I wonder how cool Ryu, Chun-Li, Ken and the rest would look in Tekken's art style.

I'm a bit more interested on how it would play, i mean it felt pretty good in SF x Tekken to have some of my favorite tekken characters in the 2d SF Style but i wonder if it would be the same the other way around. Shame they both couldnt come out together... and that Capcom was still Crapcom back then and pulled stuff that would make EA blush with the game.

It's clear your misinformed opinion on Splatoon is based solely on an extremely limited exposure to the series. You are free to think Splatoon is bad or not deserving of another rep but if the only evidence you offer is "I played it for 2 seconds on my cousin's switch" then you should rightly expect to get laughed at.

It's a very plausible scenario. His AT could be him standing in the background and throwing food to the player who summons him, as that's what he does in both Triple Deluxe and Robobot. It'd replace the functionality of Isabelle's AT as well.

No no I beat the main story in an incredibly short amount of time.

Fact is game offers nothing beyond the intial concept.

Again many reviews have explained why its lighton content and a grind fest hence the overall average has not being great compared to games like mario and zelda.

If what I said wasnt true other professional reviewers wouldn't have noted it and given thegame a 6/10 which is a fair rating imo.

Not a fan of the series but it is fun for the first 4 hours before it wears thin.

Trust me, I know you want to state your unpopular opinion on the internet (I got in trouble for doing it on this exact thread a couple days ago). But what you are (and I was, at the time) doing is basically the equivalent of going into a MLP message board just to say the show is garbage (and obviously, that's a no no). Sometimes we have to keep our opinions in our heads, just to not cause any trouble... So please. Can you stop?

If they got the rights to put his character in the game, it's gonna be as Mario Character No. 9. If we get Sora or Lara, and Geno is also in the game as more than a costume or normal trophy, he's gonna be playable with them. Mallow is more-likely as an assist, unless we say Mallow would be playable.

I think a lot of this anxiety, in-fighting, theories vs theories, is the result of having such a limited newcomer roster. When there were 16, if there's a character you didn't like, who cares, there's 15 more and you're bound to like someone. Here, a lot less newcomers means more of a chance that there's no appealing newcomers for some. I feel that way--Brawl I had Sonic, 4 I had Mega-Man and Pac-Man. Unfortunately, newcomer wise, nobody confirmed or rumored appeals to me.

But I also can't forget how amazing Ultimate is. Re-watching the "Everyone Is Here" trailer gave me the feels again, and I stick by my position that it could have ended there and I would have been satisfied. Although, with newcomers left to be revealed, I can't help but hold out hope that at least one unique newcomer appeals to me. Less than two months to go.

I like Assist Trophies. Like yeah, I'd love Knuckles as a playable character but I just think it's cool he's in at all.

I get the want for DLC and all that, I do, but sometimes any representation is better than none and I don't like the prevailing idea that them being in as an AT is a demotion or insult.

And it also blows my mind that people choose to play with items off when not playing competitively instead of using the item switch for its intended purpose, which is to turn off every item except hammers and set the frequency to Very High.

Akuma and Geese work well enough in Tekken I feel, so that could likely apply to others like Ryu, Chun, Guile, Cammy ect.

There's a chance, but I do have to wonder if Sakurai knows how popular the little dude is. He's slowly been introducing newer Kirby stuff as times goes on, him being important in the newer stuff could help. I don't know. I don't exactly have any major pulls for Kirby myself.

And I will leave it at that. People can like what they like and dislike what they dislike. It's really not that big of a deal, and there is no such thing as a "deserving" character for Smash. These characters are fake pixel people, they do not deserve anything in my opinion, and the notion one thing deserves something over the other is fueled by personal bias and preference and can not be objectively stated.

They SHOULDN'T hurt my feelings but if it was Geno it absolutely would. Since I play competitive I barely ever see ATs.

I’m in Draconian mode using Veronica and Serena with Weapons instead of wands.

I remember a lot of people complained about there being significantly more Fire Emblem characters than Donkey Kong characters, despite the latter series being far more successful.

But I'm now realizing that the few games that stared Diddy Kong as the main character alone have sold more than the entire Fire Emblem franchise. I find that kind of funny.

Geno as an AT can also make sense. He is an obscure character to many people's eyes and seeing that even the most requested characters like Krystal is now AT, I could see SE add Geno as a AT to please the Geno community.

I will still be dissappointed, but at least he makes his first appearance since a long time. I will be happy about it.

I still hope for him to become a full-fledge character though...

It’s clear Sakurai sees assists as valid representation - particularly for niche characters who may not be well-known in all regions or those who he couldn't come up with a full moveset.

Yes, there are some (Midna) that I’d rather were playable, but most are still part of the game. But thay also has to do with the fact that I’m a huge Zelda fan, and seeing unique playable characters for my favorite series is more important to me than seeing random items. Other assists, however, I have no problem with as assists.

It does seem interesting to me how many people here consider assists the worst thing in the world - to the extent that they’d rather a character be ignored completely than granted an assist. A lot seems to come from the “I don’t play with items, so then I’ll never see them.” One, that sound like you’re putting limitations on yourself and ignoring parts of the game, and two, the rule that DLC promotions is impossible is as much a fanrule as ‘we won’t get a second character from the same third-party company’. Unlikely, but not explicitly denied.

I do wish there was an item switch for assists though so you could play a match like the Melee event where Electrode was the only Pokéball or somethig though. Or so you could set your favorite assist character to the only one so you’d see them more often.

You're far too bullheaded to continue this conversation though. Opinion =/= fact. Finding a review that agrees with you does not make your point any more or less valid. Arguing subjective points as though they are the only grading scale because you consider them the only grading scale is a terrible way to approach anything in life and I genuinely hope you aren't as impossible to talk to off the forum as you are on it.

No one ever reviews Style Savvy games despite them being very very good.

Most fans of Final Fantasy I talk to hate Final Fantasy 8 despite it being my favorite.

Review scores are meaningless and subjective and arguments over them are stupid and pedantic. Just enjoy what you want to enjoy and let others do the same. Sheesh.

Duh that's my point exactly not everyone has to like a series and I dont like splatoon. Just like I dont expect everyone to enjoy a series like Advance wars

Honestly I think a lot of the backlash just stems from people holding an unpopular opinion, and people wanting to stop others from going against the grain.

Like for example, I'm really not crazy about the prospect of Waddle Dee getting in. There are around three other Kirby characters I'd prefer to see first, and hell, at least three other lance users in general I'd prefer to see. Pretty much the only positive for me is that my brother kind of wants him.

People can go against the popular opinion and not be a troll.
