My thoughts on Music Theory vs Vergeban:

-Vergeban himself admitted that he got bad intel from one of his sources regarding Isabelle being an echo so the idea that he can't be wrong has already been disproven. I don't actually think he's making **** up & doesn't actually have any sources, I just don't consider them infallible.

-While most people think a Pokémon is a lock, its certainly reasonable to think a big 3rd party like Sora or ugh...Steve is more than big enough to knock a Sun & Moon Pokémon down the pecking order, especially in early 2016. Greninja was during an time focused a lot more on unique newcomers so saying that Incineroar automatically enjoys the same luxury is simply jumping to conclusions.

-Regardless of which comes out the victor, I consider any first party unique newcomer that isn't a Pokémon a long shot at this point, giving Sakurai's Famistu comments this morning .

He said there wouldn't be a new DK character and that Isabelle would be an echo. He wasn't able to predict Daisy, K. Rool, or Richter, which makes no sense when you claim he was able to get all those other things right. How would he not know about those characters?

1: He never said that was happening, if I remember correctly, he said "One of my sources said no DK characters but judging from others sources this is bull****". For Isabelle, he wasn't sure and actually said "I think she's an echo" if I recall, meaning uncertainty. That has nothing to do with what he got right as he didn't claim them, most notably the Brawl roster leak had 2 people claiming different things. Turns out they were BOTH right, unless you want to argue that because they weren't individually correct they were both false. What he didn't say is irrelevant. The development team is seemingly VERY tight on this game too

He did not say these things. You need to read what people are saying.

Leaks do not work that way. They don't get a list of all the characters and features that are in the game. They are drip fed single pieces of info.

Okay, I’m more in the “I really like this, but I wished ____ was still in” camp.

I’m happy with what we have so far, but there are still some characters that I want in the game that would truly make Ultimate the best for me. Sure it’s nice to have every character and some of my favorite veterans back and all, but there was something else I’m still pushing for. That and the newcomers... are characters I never actively supported. Sure King K. Rool, Simon, Ridley, and Inkling were cool and some people were happy, but they really didn’t bring me much to the game, and Isabelle was just an “okay” from me.

I only really have 3 super mega wants for this game (Elma, Isaac, and Lycanroc) and it kinda stinks that all three of them are pegged at not being in the game. Though I do think they’re all still likely, which gives me hope that they can finally join and make me truly hyped.

where are you getting you're info from? again...he never stated dk would not get another newcomer and he never said isabelle would be an echo.

Why do people keep stating that he didn't know EVERY single newcomer a if it disproves vergeben?
Leakers generally don't know every single detail in the game..I don't believe he claimed to

I can’t believe you guys are sudden expecting only 2-4 more all because of what Sakurai said.

That doesn’t mean anything for the total count of playable besides it might be 1 to 2 echos or 1 unique in October and the rest of the base characaters for November’s direct ending with a mewtwo esc reveal (either banjo or geno easily)

And the blog theory not deconfirmed either besides only way to bring it down to less than 7 (6-8) is if they only do one character a week to bring it down to 2 but it’s not a definate number

I say 4-6 more and that number combines echos and uniques

I suppose you're right. Maybe I should just wait until the next Pokemon is confirmed before I start worrying too much. I just think he'd be a much better fit for Smash than a generic wrestler though.

True as that may be, it still has no effect on his credibility. If anything he's so angry because he actually does have sources and is just sick of people putting words in his mouth and spreadong misinformation about his claims.

You're showing a clear bias and misinformation which is not helpful to your point. That said, Verge's recent behavior does hurt his credibility.

Okay, I’m more in the “I really like this, but I wished ____ was still in” camp.

You don't make up ALL that and get that lucky. You have only lied about what verge has said. You have not shown any examples of backpedalling, which he never did in the case of his Smash information. You're calling his behaviour that while yes, was inexcusable, was caused because of people like YOU hounding him, insulting him, claiming he's completely fake and LYING about him. people THREATENING him, etc. Vergeben isn't a professional PR person, he's a regular person, who would snap after a significant amount of verbal abuse for months. The fact you refuse to admit you were misinformed when called out on your lies doesn't help your case either. When Incineroar gets revealed and Minecraft content shows up in the game, how will you react? Especially if we do end up getting a second SE character who Verge isn't sure of

I really am starting to wonder when the final info dump will drop. October is sounding a little suspect depending on how you wanna interpret Sakurai's comments, however holding it in November gets really tricky due to a number of reasons.

I'm still feeling late October, maybe first week of November. What are other's thoughts on this?

Not the main game, not the anime, not the concept art. Its all coming from a spin off fighting game. Where's the validity in that?

I'm with ya. I've been doubting him since before he started being an arsehole, and it's kinda funny to me that everyone's just now starting to actually question his credibility based on that.

I agree that people shouldn't overreact, but people can also not like the character. Everyone has their own tastes, and what not.
