What if it's real disguised as fake?

To me if it is fake the Pichu error seems like too much of an oversight considering how meticulous this person was with other details like Ken's foot clipping properly for example.

Okay, I've inspected the Pichu portrait, and they got all the proportions wrong. Why would Sakurai and the dev team go back and resize the render and portrait? The fake Ken hoax doesn't match up with official proportions.

Anyways, yeah. I think this doesn't really change much, because we all sort of expected Ken once talks of echo fighters began. It makes sense for him to be in the game in the first place.

Clearly the ken leak is fake, i'm 75% sure thats his street fighter iv model whereas ryu got a new model for smash. Still if he isnt in the game that would be idiotic cuz he shoulda been in the second they added ryu to be a skin ala alph for olimar.

To be fair Falco’s, Palutena and Shulk’s portrait renders were edited but only for lighting/shading/clothing/textures, nothing was resized iirc

Did the ESRB leaker for 4 announce in advance when the videos would be posted or did they just spontaneously appear? Cause if it’s the latter I’d say this guy who claimed he’ll post videos today is bluffing (as to be expected).

Remember the Agnès leaker claiming to have video?

Half the reason I believed it was that I always expected ken to look weird as **** in smash 4.

loz18: A mess that proves that some people will do anything for that 16th minute of fame.
Richtevoiritelle: Without Gardevoir or Gothitelle shown it technically still stands though the story has some holes. Still, props for guessing Richter if fake.
Ken picture: Looking like another "Palutena" leak.

Anyone calling it 100% fake because of the pichu ear being cut off is pretty ignorant. That type of thing could easily change between builds.

I'm not saying I think the pic is real or not. I'm saying stop jumping to conclusions, and maybe think for yourselves a little bit.

Yeah it's fake.

They copied the render from the E3 footage, the ear is cut off at exactly the same position when the picture is zoomed in. (It isn't cut off before the zoom in btw)

It isn't normally cut off, it looks like they just cut the portrait from that picture and missed that it was cut off when zoomed in.

From what I can see, we legit have never seen Pichu in that pose since the Everything Is Here trailer. Only other scenes I could find were his character trailer, and there's an image of him doing it on the site, but his arms are in a different position.

Why would they change this in mid-development? If you want your leak to be considered "real" you have to be 100% on the dot in every nook and cranny, otherwise people WILL find a discrepancy.

Good point. I just put Sigurd seeing as how Geneaology of The Holy War is the big SNES Fire Emblem game that every FE fans talks about.

I don't think there'd be that many third party fighters. The first Smash Bros. game was more of a proof of concept, and third parties weren't considered until Melee.

Mind you, this would mean we might've gotten third parties for Smash 64, such as Banjo and...uh...what other popular third party games were on the Nintendo 64 again?

Yeah! Just like the ESRB leak with "disablad"! And Wario missing a pupil! And G&W's hand clipping into Wario's portrait!

Stuff like this happens all the time, it could just as easily have been changed during development or even be an error.

EDIT: Look at masterluigi1 's post for an example of an icon changing.

the leak isn't finished yet...ridleys portrait was changed during development if you look at this gameplay

in one video you see ridleys head cut off and the other it's not

The leaker didn't just crop the icon.

There's a bit more black on Pichu's ear in the leak's icon than in the picture where the yellow bar cuts it off.

Anyway, Pichu's proportions seem to be normal after looking at official photos, and seeing that picture of Ryu and Pichu...Ken seems to be normal size as well. I'm not 100% on it being real, but I guess we'll eventually know if Vergeben is right.
