In the midst of all the craziness in the Smash fanbase this past week I've almost forgotten we're getting news about other Nintendo games aswell .

I just want to hear about their plans for retro games, NES games are all well and fine, even if it's a very limited selection, but the service is still lacking severely behind the Virtual Console. I really hope they've got something good planned in that regard.

Good news! You can be excited about both!

That's definitely what I'm doing and it helps temper my expectations for smash, knowing that even if it's just 1 newcomer I don't care for there will still be all kinds of info in this Direct.

Doom is no more violent than Bayonetta, and has an arsenal of energy based weapons that could be used.

Elder Scrolls only has Skyrim on Switch, by comparison Doom has:
Doom on SNES and GBA
Doom II on GBA
Doom 64
Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal on Switch.

Not to mention that Doom was THE PC game back in the days of DOS.

Senran Kagura is a fighting/brawler type game, similar to Hyrule Warriors

Doomguy could maybe be in the cards for DLC. His icon status is probably on par with Ryu and Cloud, but strangely enough has a better history with Nintendo.

Bethesda DLC pack: Dovahkiin and Doomguy. With a stage for each. And Vault Boy as an assist trophy who acts like Bomberman but with Smart Bombs.

Vergeben finally posted and I'm not sure anyone noticed it yet. But it's not a leak, just him saying that he doesn't like most journalists because they think what he said is 100% true when in actuality he didn't specify it. He never said that the characters would be 100% confirmed to be in Smash or in this Direct.

Oh, and he finally admits that he lives in Germany, hence the timezones.

Ironic because this is the kind of misreported stuff Verg is complaining about. The only character he said he wouldn't 100% confirm for Smash is Incineroar, due to it not being corroborated by his most trustworthy sources. The others, despite the vagueness of some (a 2nd SE character) he completely stands behind.

He just doesn't appreciate how the article claims he said they'd be revealed in the Direct later, which he never did.

This "violence" is why I people discount a Mortal Kombat character so much. Scorpion and Sub-Zero could very well make it in. If Sakurai wanted it bad enough, it would happen.

Why do people bring up the "too violent" argument when... the character in question can just be toned down like were?

Honestly I just think it's people trying to justify why a character they don't want won't be in.

I still think the most disturbing thing in a Zelda game is the Ocarina ReDeads, especially if you find one in a grave by itself.

The whole Bottom of the Well is like my favorite sp00py thing ever. I miss OoT/MM styled Zeldas so much.

DOOMguy could easily be toned down to fit, the only problem are his guns (which aren't even a massive problem), and he has enough energy guns to make up for it.
The "brutal executions" thing was added in newDOOM too, I don't know why people think that's a requirement for the character.

So here’s another pointless side quest while we wait for another 14 hours for this Direct.

Let’s say you had only one character to show support for and, because of some driving, unseen force, it can only be a character that is somehow related to your username by name/theme/franchise/alphabet/etc.

For me, Venus of the Desert Bloom. Isaac is obvious pick so I’m gonna do the opposite and choose Krookadile.

...I pretty much wear my faves on my sleeve with my username with my veteran of choice and my most wanted newcomer since I joined all those years ago.

However that's a little dull and Toad is the obvious answer so I'll go with Advance Wars Andy for the middle part of my name.

Weapons that probably wouldn't fit:

1. Pistol (even this is arguable as Bayonetta has a revolver)
2. Chaingun
3. Shotgun (both)

Weapons that would easily fit:

1. Rocket Launcher
2. Plasma Gun
3. BFG
4. Chainsaw
5. Fists
6. Fire Axe
7. Unmaker
8. Grenades
9. Soul Cube

This is ignoring DOOM 4 which expands this list even further.
