That was a Smash focused direct. This is a general direct so I only expect 1 newcomer and 1 or 2 echos.

If they do something like use a reveal to lead into the Smash reveal, I could see it.

We have 3 months to go, and it's highly unlikely we'll get any Directs next month.


They have to take any chance they can get to reveal newcomers.

Apparentely, the guy posted a picture of Skull Kid and Bandana Dee in Poke Floats. And according to him, it is indeed that Spirit mode.

They could end the direct with 2 reveals back to back. I'm not saying it will happen, but there's a possibility.

They don't even need to end the direct with two.

As some people have mentioned, they could have the Pokemon and Smash segments back to back, with an Incineroar/whoever reveal trailer leading directly into the Smash segment.

Apparentely, the guy posted a picture of Skull Kid and Bandana Dee in Poke Floats. And according to him, it is indeed that Spirit mode.

It's confirmed to be fake (the Kirby logo doesn't match exactly the position it had in the demo and BWD is officially called Bandana Waddle Dee and not Bandana Dee). Although that Poké Floats 2 looks soooo cool.

I'm keeping my expectations low, but I wouldn't count out the possibility of two unique newcomers from this Direct.


We have 3 months to go until the game launches, and the chance of a Direct in October is pretty damn low unless that's when the Smash Direct is. They 'have' to start throwing out newcomers, since it seems like we're only going to be getting them via Direct this time, and this is most likely our only general Direct until November/December.

This was a game a few hours ago...

Here's a little game i made for you guys

I took inspiration from the fake Sakurai photo we had earlier and from the chairs 'conspiracy'.

There's 9 hints for potential newcomers in this image... some are easier than others (plus there's plenty of cushions to speculate all night long, cushions are not part of the 9 hints )

Can you list all the hints and their corresponding newcomers? (one hint in particular is pretty hard to interpret but i'll give an additional hint if necessary)
