I have to agree. You know, it seems weird Impa isn't mentioned more as an Echo. People seem to focus on characters that were present in past games and focus more on who's not here. But Impa to me is probably the most logical and obvious Echoes out there.
Before Smash Ultimate was revealed, there were two characters I wanted and expected as costumes/clones and they were Daisy and Impa.
Why isn't Dillon there? I'd think he deserves to get in over half of those reps.If 10 more, I guess...
I'm always prioritizing 1st party series that have no reps. In this case, I'd add Sin & Punishment, Pushmo, The Wonderful 101, Advance Wars, Chibi Robo, and Arms. I made an exception for Rex & Blades because the moveset potential intrigues the mess out of me. Then there are the 3rd party choices. Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden) and Belmont (Castlevania). Those are undeniably iconic series that were popularized on Nintendo's systems before Sony and MS entered the scene. I'd want Bond in (was my ballot choice) because Goldeneye 64 is also HUGE Nintendo history.
For me they are:What are the 7-10 newcomers to the base roster that would make the game PERFECT for you, with the first being “I absolutely NEED them” and the last one being “I could live if they weren’t added but they’d be cool to see regardless”? Counting Echoes, not counting potential DLC candidates who were too late for the base roster (like Rex & Pyra or an ARMS character)
For me:
1. Elma
2. Bandana Waddle Dee
3. Simon Belmont
4. Chorus Kids
5. Chrom
6. Dixie Kong
7. King K. Rool
8. Isabelle
9. Isaac
10. Lloyd Irving (or Yuri Lowell)
I would be a happy camper if all three KI characters are members of the best characters in Ultimate, and Blaze isn’t allowed to be slept on...but I really want Shadow/Tails/AmyI won't
With her being able to attack, and counter, her specials getting tweaked, plus her improvements altogether, I have faith in her to rise up the rankings.
I still think people are sleeping on Blaze she has potential to make the cut.
You're on a roll. despite how unlikely it would be for her to make it in, I'd main her. Freedom Planet looks like an amazing game.
the manga was the same as everywhere else, Skeik still being female like Zelda but thinking she’s a manI'm pretty sure Sheik was intended to be a male in Japan; the same way Birdo was a boy. Manga etc.
Keep on living that Pit LifeHey, Pit's my boy once I got to know him more. Especially in the Uprising era.
1. Custom Robo Ray 01/Legend/Warrior- my second favorite game of all-time and a series that desperately needs a sequel. Lucario8. Buzzwole/Pheromosa- no Fighting type Pokemon in a Fighting game. Both fairly popular. Pokemon GO made the franchise a cultural phenomenon for the second time when Ultimate was in the works, I doubt the franchise gets no new rep in this game.
Because it's a personalized thing based off of Rie's game? Your opinion doesn't really matter when it's about someone elses. Why isn't Dillon there? I'd think he deserves to get in over half of those reps.
50/50 on an Adventure Mode type, no chance on SSE style, due to the latter taking a majority of Brawl's Dev time.Definitely Not Happening, unless it's watered down to unnecessary, few second cutscenes like in Melee.
Would like to see it, though.
The recent revelation that Smash Ultimate's filesize will be about 16GB pretty much confirms that a SSE-like story mode isn't happening; Smash Wii U's filesize was about 15GB and the SSE cutscenes in Brawl took up like 3-4GB, so unless there's some amazing data compressing going on or Ultimate has barely any music, a ton of HD cutscenes just isn't going to fit in that projected 16GB on top of the rest of the content Ultimate is getting over Smash Wii U. I suppose there is the chance that Nintendo undershot it when that filesize was released, I don't know how accurate those pre-release filesizes have been in the past, maybe someone else here can answer that?Time to start a convo.
What's your guys' thoughts on Story Mode happening? Guaranteed, Likely, Not Very Likely, Definitely Not Happening?
Me personally, I think it's likely this time around.
Ah man, You gotta play Shovel Knight. personally one of my favorite Indie Games.1. Custom Robo Ray 01/Legend/Warrior- my second favorite game of all-time and a series that desperately needs a sequel. Any of the Ray models would be great and have a great moveset
2. Crono- from my third favorite game of all-time and the Square rep we should have had all along. Widely considered one of the best RPGs ever and debuted on SNES with a DS remake, rather than exclusively on a direct competitor and was a major reason Nintendo was dethroned by Sony
3. King K Rool- Need more villains, love DKC, long overdue
4. Phoenix Wright- seriously deserves representation. I know multiple people who got DS's and 3DS's just for PW games, and he could have a fantastic and creative moveset
5. Bandana Waddle Dee/Daroach- Kirby is my favorite game series ever, so I'm always for more reps.
6. Simon- I like Castlevania and the series was a major get and selling point for Nintendo. Also fulfills the "retro" character without feeling too niche
7. Dark Samus- need more villains, and I love the Prime trilogy
8. Buzzwole/Pheromosa- Both fairly popular. Pokemon GO made the franchise a cultural phenomenon for the second time when Ultimate was in the works, I doubt the franchise gets no new rep in this game.
9. Geno- I love Geno and SMRPG, however Crono would be my preferred new Square rep
10. Shantae/Shovel Knight- Haven't played either game but both would be great indie reps with good movesets.
Be sure to like, favorite, and subscribe. Oh sorry, I'm too used to top-10 videos.
Said game was a massive flop. Also, it is possible that Shadow is still an AT. We'll never know until Shadow is announced, either as a playable character or an AT.Uh. I'm going to have to say no to that. They're not even comparable. Shadow has a game with his own name in the title and is the poster child for edgy video game characters.

That'd work pretty neat tbh but I'd want them to personalize the adventure a little. What if we got something similar to Kirby's "Guest Star????" pick a character and go on an adventure!
But why? Not including remakes, the last FE game to have been released was Fates, and I highly doubt Sakurai would feel like it would be worth his time adding a second character from that game.I really think we're getting Geno this time around and well my controversial prediction is that were getting a another Fire Emblem character and no new Pokemon character until DLC. Just a hunch
You can already do a 8 player Smash with all unique Pokemon. That is, if you count PT as 3 separate characters. You can only do 8 man Smash with a unique individual from said series with the Mario franchise at this time.
Pokemon is one rep away from that.
Call me weird, but I think we're getting that possibility for Pokemon in base game as well.
Those are the big two and they kinda of deserve that.
Nah. Because eventually you'll be forced to play the same Pokemon if the other two get K.O.ed.You can already do a 8 player Smash with all unique Pokemon. That is, if you count PT as 3 separate characters.
In the case of 8 player though, you wouldn't. Because of slots. You'd have two people as Pokemon trainer. Sometimes being the same Pokemon ect. Stuff like this, it's the slot that's important. You can already do a 8 player Smash with all unique Pokemon. That is, if you count PT as 3 separate characters.
I flipped a coin on Chibi Robo and Dillon, and Robo won. I'll flip again now...Why isn't Dillon there? I'd think he deserves to get in over half of those reps.
That's why I'm saying it's a controversial prediction because it going to make some people mad.But why? Not including remakes, the last FE game to have been released was Fates, and I highly doubt Sakurai would feel like it would be worth his time adding a second character from that game.
Yes, Pokemon might have a lot of fighters, but unlike FE, it has a completely new set of games to look at (Sun and Moon). The only scenario I can think of where Pokemon gets nothing on the base roster but FE does is if Chrom gets in as an Echo, and that already feels extremely unlikely.
I have respect for you for wanting Skull KidHere's my top ten:
1.) Skull Kid- Been my most wanted for quite some time, would honestly probably cry if he made it.
2.) King K. Rool- Most iconic villain not in Smash, DK needs more reps desperately, now IS his time.
3.) Geno- Don't have a personal connection to the character, I just think he's got a really rad design that would translate perfectly to Smash.
4.) Decidueye- My personal favorite Pokémon ever now, he's my choice for a Gen 7 rep.
5.) Phoenix Wright- The third party I would choose for this game, he may seem unconventional but I have no doubt he would be an awesome character.
6.) Rayman- Another third party that would fit so well in the game, I'm astounded he hasn't made it yet.
7.) Bandana Dee- Kirby is definitely due for a 4th rep, and BD is more than popular enough to warrant the spot I think.
8.) Crash- If we were able to have the three console mascots from the 90s (Mario, Sonic, and Crash) battle it out in Smash, that would really live up to the 'ultimate' title I'd say.
9.) Dixie Kong- The other DK rep that totally deserves to be in. I feel like she could be a totally unique character from Diddy, but I feel an echo is the only way she would EVER be in the game at all, then I did take it.
10.) Shovel Knight- My pick for an indie rep. He's definitely fallen out of relevance over the years, but I could definitely see a really cool moveset for him.
Honorable mentions go to: Excitebiker, Captain Toad, Shadow, Porky, and King Boo.
I love the idea of every ‘Adventure mode’ for a goven character ending with a unique rival battle. Bonus points if each one gets a short cutscene like in Soul Calibur 2 and 3.Introduce a rival system. Every character has a personal unique rival in the game. Maybe even get some cross game stuff.
Mario vs Bowser
Link vs Ganondorf
Samus vs Ridley
Lucas vs Wario
Meta Knight vs Lucario
Dude totally, Zelda really deserves a unique newcomer. The fact that Skull Kid is still not disconfirmed while the other popular one-off Zelda characters have been (Midna, Tingle, Ghirahim) DOES give me a little bit of hope, although I'm sure he'll end up being an AT again (either that or in Young Link's final Smash, which is also doubtful).I have respect for you for wanting Skull Kid
Honestly. Midna was my ideal Zelda Rep. but when she was deconfirmed. I moved on to Skull Kid. Tingle would also be pretty funny, but I just never liked Ghirahim too much.Dude totally, Zelda really deserves a unique newcomer. No way pichu is absolutely anywhere near the bottom tier.I don't see ?
Yeah i know, but the person who don's Majora is Skull Kid. i don't really want a tiny mask in smash bros.No way pichu is absolutely anywhere near the bottom tier.
Ice climbers is very bad and the worst character by far. ESAM agrees with that sentiment as do many other pros.
And I don't need to have played them in the Endo to form an opinion for who I think is bottom tier it's just my opinion not an offical tier list and I gave my reasons.
As for the topic off the day in regards to Skull Kid he's been floating around for a while as a wanted fighter. I'm leaning more towards wanting Ghirahim instead to add to the villain roster he's a cool guy.
Skull kid isn't a villain Majora is.
Fair enough hahaha I'm not opposed to the idea he could be cool.Yeah i know, but the person who don's Majora is Skull Kid. i don't really want a tiny mask in smash bros.
I wasn't really comparing them, all I meant by my words were she can produce hype as well , and that Shadow being the only non-OG character that can produce hype is misleading, as said in my last sentence.Uh. I'm going to have to say no to that. They're not even comparable. Shadow has a game with his own name in the title and is the poster child for edgy video game characters.
You kinda do when there isn't much to go off of. Again, you listed multiple characters we never got to see proper gameplay offNo way pichu is absolutely anywhere near the bottom tier.

James Bond from goldeneye would be so cool and unexepcted I don't think anyone would have a problem with that. Can be a semi clone of snake.
I really like it! And he could be genuinely good not just a fun troll fighter.Phoenix Wright moveset, cause why not?
Overall Phoenix isn't a fighter, so his actual damage outputs will be a little low. However, just as he finishes off criminals in court, he has great knockback to KO foes. And, just as he often has to recover from near-defeat in trials, his recovery and jumps are good as well.
Specials:
Neutral Present Evidence: throws a random piece of evidence from the games with varying properties. Projectiles will travel about half of Battlefields length.
Side B Commute to work: Phoenix Wright rides his bike everywhere in the game and has no car or even a driver's license. This acts similar to Bowser Jr's attack. Does a slight hop at first when in the air, cancelling does not leave you in a vulnerable state
Up B From the Ashes: Maya and Mia Fey grab Phoenix by the legs and throw him into the air, helping him to recover just as they do in the games. Slow start-up but fast moving allowing for KO potential
Down B Objection: Phoenix slams his hands down on a table in front of him, if the opponent hits him as he slams, Phoenix will make his famous Objection declaration and finger point, which will act as a counter and send the desk flying as a projectile.
Jab: basic one-two punch with at the end.
Side-tilt: stabs forward with a pencil
U-tilt: swats at the sky in an arc with papers in hand
D-tilt: swipes at the ground with a magnifying glass
F-Smash: swings a briefcase horizontally in front of himself
Up-Smash: Phoenix frustratedly throws his papers up in the air in a less than 180 degree radius above his head
Down-Smash: Edgeworth appears beside Phoenix and both make objection points at each other except they shout “hold it!” (Like the games). When they do so, they also stomp down their outside legs creating a small damaging shockwave on both sides.
N-air: Phoenix kicks in front of himself
U-air: Phoenix swipes upwards with his bike
F-air: Phoenix swipes with his briefcase
B-air: Phoenix does his objection point backwards
D-air: Phoenix does an elbow drop
Pummel: Phoenix hits with a piece of paper
F-throw: Phoenix yells “take that” and tosses the opponent forward
Down-throw: Phoenix rides his bike on top of the opponent for multiple light hits before sending the opponent upward
Back-throw: Phoenix once again yells “take that” and dropkicks the opponent behind him
Up-throw: Phoenix throws the opponent with a flurry of papers skyward
Final Smash: Judgement Day. One of Phoenix's nightmares is played put on stage as a giant, evil judge slams his gavel down on the stage. “GUILTY” comes across the sky.
Taunt 1: Phoenix, Maya, and Mia all raise their fists in the air in victory
Taunt 2: Phoenix bashfully scratches the back of his head smiling, a pose from his game
Taunt 3: Phoenix takes out some papers and taps them with skepticism, another pose from his game
Costumes: red reskin resembles Edgeworth, green Godot, orange Damon Gant, purple Manfred Von Karma. Others just recolors
Let me know what you guys think

I'd much rather have Blaze than Shadow. I know Shadow could have his own unique moveset, but Blaze I think would be more unique overall.I wasn't really comparing them, all I meant by my words were she can produce hype as well , and that Shadow being the only non-OG character that can produce hype is misleading, as said in my last sentence.
And having his own game, with his own name in the title, didn't stop it from doing poorly, with the majority of the games ratings being less than 5/10.
While the games Blaze was introduced in, the Sonic Rush series, were very well received, with the majority of the games ratings being around 8/10 or higher.
