So, this game is called; "Super Smash Bros Ultimate"
Now, what would define Ultimate for you?
I'll give some rules for this game.
You are to add up to "10" Nintendo characters/first n' seond party characters.
And you can have up to "5" 3rd parties.
Now, it's to personalize what would for "you" make the Smash from where it currently is, to the "Ultimate".
Which characters are left, who are realizable still that is.
I'll write mine, but in the mean time, I'd love to hear from your perspectives.
Try to reason why they'd be a good fit to make it your ultimate.
NINTENDO
1) K. Rool: I've actually never played a Donkey Kong game outside of the arcade classic title, but his prominence as a villain for Donkey Kong hasn't really been matched, and seems like the biggest representative who's been missed in the past games. He may not appeal much to me, but the game will never feel
Ultimate for me if he's not included.
2) Bandana [Waddle] Dee: The cast of Kirby characters we have in Smash is pretty well encompassing, especially since D3 and MK are both ally and enemy in various games, but with the frequency of his appearances including playable, an Ultimate Smash feels like it should contain the fourth member of the quartet.
those first two are my non-biased choices for what would make the game feel Ultimate to me, the full, unfiltered bias goes below.
3) Raichu: With Pichu and Pikachu both in the game, the impossibility and disinterest in playable Raichu has faded away for me. Whereas Pichu can't control his power, Raichu abuses it, and seeing the stronger, slower Raichu bullying his pre-evos would be great, and just having the first two without the third doesn't feel very ultimate.
4) Tingle: The only non-Link character to have his own spinoff games, Tingle's a recurring freak in Zelda that I adore. I pine for his inclusion, and would be overjoyed with his inclusion.
5) Tiki: One of the most important and recurring characters in Fire Emblem's incongruous lore, Tiki has had plenty of interpretations of her powers as a Manekete to work with. Her connection with Marth and relevance to the series feel like an ultimate choice for FE. Bonus points for Awakening Tiki over child.
6) Sami: There aren't many games I played with friends as a kid, but Advance Wars was one of the best. It
has kind of fallen to the wayside, but Sami (or Andy but I'm not a fan) provides a rep for a great game and a brilliantly unique playstyle. Stage control to the most literal level.
7) Elma: XCX may not be my favorite game in the series, but it does mark an important part of the Wii U's brief life. Plus, Elma's dual swords and dual guns lead to some great potential for combos and fluid gameplay.
8) Malos: Xenoblade games tend to have positive villains overall, and while I'd take any of Chronicles' villains over Malos, he certainly fits the bill, interests me as a character more so than Rex, and having two Monados clash in Smash Bros. would be exciting.
9) Ghetsis: One of if not the coolest Pokemon villainous leaders, Ghetsis not only has some terrifying Pokemon he could bring into battle but has access to his wicked-looking staff and the Shadow Triad to add some combat ability to a type of character that normally lacks it.
10) Dark Samus: Metroid already got a rep this game but I would be psyched for a fourth unique choice from the franchise. Echo or not, I'll support Dark Samus and the inclusion would really make the game feel ultimate to me.
THIRD PARTY
1) Banjo & Kazooie: B&K were such powerhouses on the 64, plus have already interacted with a member of the cast. It's hard to think of any third parties that would make the word 'Ultimate' work more than this duo.
2) Rayman: Rayman and especially the Rabbids have become very big for Nintendo, and Rayman's inclusion for Ultimate feels almost mandatory.
3) Simon Belmont: Leaks or no leaks, with Snake and Bomberman both in the game, Simon has to make an appearance. Castlevania was such a huge deal, and as one of the faces of the series Simon feels like he belongs.
4) Aiai?: I know I don't have to do all five third parties, and honestly I'm not that opinionated on them, but I've come this far so I might as well finish it out. I've played countless hours of Super Monkey Ball, and the game provides plentiful references (mostly in the party games) to build a fun set around Aiai or any of the other monkeys.
5) KOS-MOS: This choice will always be a bit ridiculous but my bias gives me never ending desire for Xeno reps, and KOS-MOS would be a very fun choice. How much more ultimate can you get than playing as Mary Magdalene's robotic corpse?
