I think it's just a placeholder for future announcements. So, there's this debate about the private video thing....
Yeah, but we don't know what does that video contains...I think it's just a placeholder for future announcements.
Like I said, probably a future announcement. It could literally be anything.Yeah, but we don't know what does that video contains...
It's unlikely there would be a new character in that video, especially so early after E3, but I think Sakurai might have used a smokescreen on us..
I think it is Battlefield Corneria. But I can be wrong.Do we know what stage this is? View attachment 148615
It doesn't look anything like Battlefield Corneria..I think it is Battlefield Corneria. But I can be wrong.
And Decidueye stays in Pokken where it belongs. And then Mimikyu returns to its Poke Ball.
Shokio didn't really start it, that's giving him a bit too much credit, the too big argument was already at the heart of every Ridley debate years before his video, Shokio just made it more prominent amongst the wider Smash fanbase.Or because, y'know, people who hate won't change. Anyone remember Shokio? The guy who started the whole "Ridley is too big" thing? He got hella salty on his live reaction and just tweeted "HE'S TOO BIG HE WILL NEVER FEEL LIKE A REGULAR CHARACTER" and ****
Based on the fact that I haven't heard anyone say otherwise, as well as the fact that I never saw more than 3 specials for each Pokemon in the hours of gameplay and discussion videos I watched, I would assume they change by pressing down+b like in Brawl.Has anyone heard is Pokémon trainer transforms by pressing down b?
*Yoshi cries in a corner*I just noticed that out of the original 8 series in Smash Donkey Kong is now the only one without an antagonist of any kind playable... unless you count Mario as DK's antagonist...
Dang what a bumberBased on the fact that I haven't heard anyone say otherwise, as well as the fact that I never saw more than 3 specials for each Pokemon in the hours of gameplay and discussion videos I watched, I would assume they change by pressing down+b like in Brawl.
I mean do we really even count Dedede as a villain anymore lol.I just noticed that out of the original 8 series in Smash Donkey Kong is now the only one without an antagonist of any kind playable... unless you count Mario as DK's antagonist...
Yeah, it feels bad that they got rid of stamina so you can play just one Pokemon, but you give yourself the handicap of missing a move and also forced switching after losing a stock. Someone said earlier you can cycle pokemon on the platform between stocks, but I haven't heard that myself from anyone who has played the game.Dang what a bumber
Well I mean they still want to keep the focus of switching out Pokemon to be their main attribute. Being able to play as just one through and through kind of defeats that purpose and overall makes the design less interesting imo.Yeah, it feels bad that they got rid of stamina so you can play just one Pokemon, but you give yourself the handicap of missing a move and also forced switching after losing a stock. I mean Bowser is always the final boss Yoshi faces off against. If you think the adult version of Bowser doesn't count then I'd like to point out that adult Bowser was the final boss of 3 Yoshi games (4 if you count Yoshi's Safari).*Yoshi cries in a corner*
No, but considering what happened to Meowth and Bewear, I'm not expecting Mimikyu to do any better than the Poke Ball Pokemon position, unless Smash Run returns, where it could fit the role as a Smash Run enemy.Has it been de-confirmed yet?
Out of Donkey Kong and Yoshi. DK is more likely to recieve an antagonist.*Yoshi cries in a corner*
It would be really cool to have an "Antagonistic 8" made of ,,,,, Kamek, Ridley and K. RoolI just noticed that out of the original 8 series in Smash Donkey Kong is now the only one without an antagonist of any kind playable... unless you count Mario as DK's antagonist...
I would agree with you had they not gone out of their way to actually say that the character has been designed in a way that you can play just one of them if you want. Nevermind the fact that they removed stamina.Well I mean they still want to keep the focus of switching out Pokemon to be their main attribute. Being able to play as just one through and through kind of defeats that purpose and overall makes the design less interesting imo.
He meets all the requisites. Is there a chance for Crash Bandicoot to be in Super Smash Bros.Ultimate?
Potentially as DLC, but chances are pretty slim for base game. I'm unfortunately not as confident about him as I was a few months ago.Is there a chance for Crash Bandicoot to be in Super Smash Bros.Ultimate?
Of course. If Nintendo would want to generate more hype, he is perhaps the best choice for a 3rd Party. Is there a chance for Crash Bandicoot to be in Super Smash Bros.Ultimate?
Echo fighters share anatomy. Hector's muscular human body simply doesn't work with the big fat blob DededeAlright, guys and girls hear me out.
Hector as an Echo Fighter of... King Dedede
Crazy right? But the more I thought about it, it doesn't seem too far off. Hector's Armads axe is similar to Dedede's hammer that it is a top-heavy weapon. Lot's of Dedede's bludgeoning attacks with his hammer would fit Hector's swings with an axe. Dedede's standard moves can easily be replaced by Armads, any of the multi-hit attacks can just be a single hit if need be. Also, Dedede is a big and heavy guy. Do you know what else is big and heavy? Armored units. Hector can reasonably match Dedede's speed, weight, size, and general shape with the huge armor he wears.
Now let's get into specials.
Up special is fine as it is. Change the stars to just debris or take them out altogether.
Down special and neutral special. I think Dedede's down special actually works better as a neutral special for Hector.
Dedede charging his jet hammer would be replaced by Hector charging his Armads with lightning. Every FE character has a chargable neutral special and that down special needs to be saved for that delicious nutritious Counter that everybody loves. Counter seems easily implementable, it shouldn't be a problem that it's a move that the original fighter doesn't have because it is a pretty low effort mechanic that can be taken from many other fighters for reference.
Side Special. This is where Hector will really have to take moves from other fighters kinda like Wolf. It's still borrowing and copying moves, so the notion of creating a low effort character is still there. A Hand Axe replacing Link's boomerang would make sense, as Hand Axe's at least in Hector's game have animations which resemble boomerangs. Maybe let the Hand Axe go through fighters like in the original animations.
Final Smash: Hector's critical animation with Armads, where he spins it above his head like a helicopter to propel himself upward. He then comes crashing down on the opponent, dealing a critical hit. The actual gameplay of this move would be like other Critical Hits but a much larger focus on verticality rather than traveling across the stage. As we've seen with Dark Pit, Final Smashes can be different from the original fighter's, so this is ok.
Base roster? No way. DLC? Eh, maybe. Lyn has been disconfirmed, so the next popular FE character not in Smash is actually Hector. CYL does do favors for these characters, it got Lyn into Warriors very late into development as a unique character. If Sakurai wants to add a character that can withstand the test of time, why not Hector? His game is 15 years old now and he is still one of the most popular FE characters by a large margin.
Inb4 "Echoes have to be exactly unique, it's one extreme or the other." Just try to have some fun. A few unique things are fine, Dark Pit has entirely different assets for Electroshock, a few gameplay differences, and a completely unique Final Smash. Daisy uses Toad in her throws. Lucina has a balanced blade and a few different animations.
Has anyone heard is Pokémon trainer transforms by pressing down b?
They literally showed switching in the Smash section of the direct and Treehouse stuff. Regardless they've been buffed by having instant switching, no dumb stamina mechanic and the ability to switch in midairBased on the fact that I haven't heard anyone say otherwise, as well as the fact that I never saw more than 3 specials for each Pokemon in the hours of gameplay and discussion videos I watched, I would assume they change by pressing down+b like in Brawl.
...I suddenly really want this.It would be really cool to have an "Antagonistic 8" made of ,,,,, Kamek, Ridley and K. Rool
Eh fair enoughI mean Bowser is always the final boss Yoshi faces off against. If you think the adult version of Bowser doesn't count then I'd like to point out that adult Bowser was the final boss of 3 Yoshi games (4 if you count Yoshi's Safari).
That was more of a joke than anything.Out of Donkey Kong and Yoshi. DK is more likely to recieve an antagonist.
If we look at the source, Yoshi already got Bowser. Donkey Kong already got Mari-- oh wait, that's Cranky Kong, and DK Jr, not current Donkey Kong. Yoshi could recieve Kamek, but he is the servent of Bowser. Who else would Yoshi supposidly get?
As said, I think DK is more likely.
Still, I'd love another character from Yoshi in itself, but if we don't get too many newcomers, then I don't even think Wario will recieve one, even if he deserves it.
Bowser is the Yoshi villain. Sakurai even mentioned that his new final smash is like Yoshi's Island. If we could get K. Rool and Kamek (or some other prominent Yoshi villain if there is one) I'd be ecstatic. Neither of them are terribly high on my personal wants, but to have the original characters with their main antagonists in the game just sounds too perfect to pass up.
We're aware they switch lol the question was about the input used to switch. They literally showed switching in the Smash section of the direct and Treehouse stuff. Regardless they've been buffed by having instant switching, no dumb stamina mechanic and the ability to switch in midair
