Dunno if Platinum is owned by Sega, but I believe the two companies co-own Bayonetta. Don't quote me on that thoughIs Platinum really owned by Sega? I saw that they partnered with Sega for a few years, but that partnership ended awhile ago,
It's rather hard to say at this point. For the most part, I think that most fighters will still be plagued with having only 8 palettes total. This is especially disturbing for Bowser Jr., since I was hoping that he'd get his own set of recolors, while the Koopalings are an extra bonus. There's always a chance that he could have more alts in the full game.
I doubt Mach Rider would use a gun, Captain Falcon doesn't use his. Also remember no character is using a realistic gun. Snake has no gun and Bayo's are magic. There's also the off chance that it could be Mach Rider for our new retro rep.
Bayo is they are not.Is Platinum really owned by Sega? I saw that they partnered with Sega for a few years, but that partnership ended awhile ago,
I think that it's for another game entirely.I doubt Mach Rider would use a gun, Captain Falcon doesn't use his. Also remember no character is using a realistic gun. Snake has no gun and Bayo's are magic.

If they hire a company to do it like they did with the character trailers I think it would not take a lot of work.I might be in the minority but I prefer a Melee style Adventure mode over a new Subspace. Mainly because producing all those CGI scenes must take a lot of time to make. If that time can be put in some other mode I'd take that any day.
Sure, but why would he want the rifle for reference?Original article

Sakurai, "I bought a figure of Biffer before this. It is an old robot animation. That does not mean that it is a short-circuited story that it is making a game of "Galaxy Drifting Bifam". I wanted the attached rifle to make it a reference to my work."
The machine gun is Mach Rider's main weapon, y'know. And afaik we never see Falcon use his gun in the actual games.I doubt Mach Rider would use a gun, Captain Falcon doesn't use his. Also remember no character is using a realistic gun. Snake has no gun and Bayo's are magic.
I think the option that makes the most sense to me is that it was a reference for some sort of boss character he created himself. It does not make any sense if the character already exists.Sure, but why would he want the rifle for reference?
Geno's is built into his arm.
So are Ray's.
It's a rifle meant to be wielded by a giant mech. He doesn't need the mech for reference. Monolithsoft would provide the model of Elma's Skell. But he could use the rifle and post the figurine around with it.
Falcon used his gun in the comic once and just gave it to Ryu to use in the anime. Not in the games does he use it, it's just there for decoration.I doubt Mach Rider would use a gun, Captain Falcon doesn't use his. Also remember no character is using a realistic gun. Snake has no gun and Bayo's are magic.
Isn't it funny people forget that the random select button exists? I wouldn't be too trusting of the whole thing, who knows what daddy Sakurai would pull on us. He may just leave the bottom row disjointed on purpose.I wonder if “66” on the Smash website means there are 66 slots so far.
“Pokémon Trainer counts as one; number includes Echo Fighters”
I’m assuming that means Mii Fighters don’t count as one and now have their own slots.
- Daisy
- Inkling
- Ridley
Assuming there are 12 character slots per row... we might get about 72 slots in total. Sakurai did say not to expect too many newcomers in this game.
Could we possibly have only 9 newcomers? We have 3 so far... Inkling, Daisy, and Ridley. We could possibly get only 6 more newcomers.
How many months are there before Smash Ultimate comes out? 6 months!
July newcomer
August newcomer
September newcomer
October newcomer
November newcomer
December newcomer
Oh wait... I forgot about the Random slot. I guess it could be only 5 more newcomers. No December newcomer since the game comes out at the end of the first week anyway. Maybe we could have only 8 newcomers in total. Yeah, better to keep our expectations very, very low this time.
You're forgetting hidden characters. If we end up getting a reveal every month, then add a two or three to that number and that's how many we would likely have.I wonder if “66” on the Smash website means there are 66 slots so far.

That was a mistranslation.Hidden characters? I think all the characters not in Smash 64 are the hidden characters.
wait 15 minutes for sonicIt just hit me that with the vast majority of the roster being unlockable, we're gonna have around 60 or slightly more characters to unlock, and that's a huge number. They definitely need to get creative with single player modes and methods to unlock everyone with. Can we actually see 10 Man Smash and 3 Minute Smash actually be worthwhile to do? If a character is locked behind 15 Minute Smash though...
What if they will make you beat 20 opponents in cruel man smash in order to unlock Sonic and Tails as his Echo fighter this time around? It just hit me that with the vast majority of the roster being unlockable, we're gonna have around 60 or slightly more characters to unlock, and that's a huge number. Don't remind me how aggravated I was trying to complete the Cruel Smash challenges in Smash 4, Cruel Smash is definitely my least favorite of the Multi Man Smash modes. At least Duck Hunt (both stage and character) only required 1 KO in Cruel Smash...What if they will make you beat 20 opponents in cruel man smash in order to unlock Sonic this time around?
I'm sorry, but you were late to the party. Smash has been already announced. So that leak was mostly true...Found a 4chan leak, dunno if is true:

This game is probably gonna be a completionist nightmare in general. It just hit me that with the vast majority of the roster being unlockable, we're gonna have around 60 or slightly more characters to unlock, and that's a huge number.
