There were already 2 Smash Bros. for anime on the DS with Goku. Platform fighters with Smash inputs and everything, published by Nintendo no less. People even import the characters almost wholesale for smash fan games. They made people want Goku in Smash more, not less.
On that note I love those games and Jump Ultimate Stars has been at the top of my "games I want to get a sequel" list for like 10 years and if the new game is basically that I'm SO STOKED.
Convinced Vergeben is legitimate now. I don’t see any other way with the castlevania games and the jump/just cause 4 leaks. Good time to be a fan of said leaks.

Call me stubborn, but I refuse to believe Ridley is in Smash until I actually see it with my own eyes. People treated Gematsu like it was gospel, but Chrom and the Chorus Kids never got in Smash, did they?
I'm not going to set myself up for disappointment again, and I literally have nothing to lose by being skeptical.

The imgur leak is contingent on the Vergeben leak. This doesn't mean that it's confirmed, but it means that there's a chance. And I like that.
Either way, my friend and I will have a good laugh over Ridley, and Snake and Icies coming back is nice too. I've tempered my expectations, but it's nice to have hope.

The Microsoft presentation was better than I thought it would be, though given that it was an hour and forty five minutes and only six games had me interested, it didn't exactly thrill me. (though the DMC5 announcement was exciting, albeit tampered a little by the resemblance to DmC)
The XCom-style Gears spin-off is a maybe; aside from that, the big games for me were DMC5, Jump Force, Ori 2, Battletoads, Cuphead, and Kingdom Hearts 3, and I feel pretty confident that all of those aside from Battletoads and KH3 are coming to Steam.

Even more unpopular opinion:
-Giygas is more important than Porky, it's just that one of the games he was in was ugly. He also had both of his games officially released in the west.
-Accordingly, while Porky would be a perfectly fine addition, Giygas is better since he also represents EB0, which currently has no one while 1 has Ness and 2 has Lucas. Ideally we'd get both, but between the two the Lovecraftian horror is better.
Well, Giygas is cool, but I think Porky would fit better in smash... first because, Giygas looks too much like Mewtwo (just like Ninten looks a lot like Ness), and with this I don't mind it is impossible to make him different enough to be easy to be differentiated, with it I mean that, if I have to choose, I would rather choose Porky because it looks more unique (in aspect, not in abilities).
Giygas in earthbound becomes a lovecraftian horror, and Porky becomes something very similar in Mother 3.
It is also a good option for Smash for being the villain for both Ness and Lucas, with Giygas, Ness wouldn't even know who he is (because he only saw Giygas in his Red chaotic form) and Lucas of course, no idea of who this dude is.
Another opinion that I have is that, I like Porky's personality more, I feel like he was more complex, I loved to hate him, but with Giygas I just felt bad for him, similar to (spoilers from mother 3):
how the Masked Man makes you feel in the final battle, you don't really want to fight him, you want to show him what is to be loved
but opinions are opinions, and everyone have their own.

So it's looking more and more likely Vergben is correct. I couldn't care less about any of the characters he's mentioned, so I'd be a little disappointed if that's all that's revealed at E3.
It was a solid conference: The cuphead DLC and battletoads animated game look like real treats.
The best part was the fact that it pretty much confirmed vergeben's leak was true smashwise.
No banjo is unfortunate though.

I thought the first third and last third of the conference was really good, but the middle section dragged on a bit. Overall a very solid showing though, it had a good mixture of expected big titles and some good surprises that gave a lot of hype. It was presented really well too, that Gears Pop fakeout was hilarious, completely killed the mood in the hall for just a while.
I don't expect us to sit here and say they won E3 once it's all over, we could have discussed that if they ended it with Banjo Kazooie, but it was still good.
