Nintendo's E3 is already looking to be potentially phenomenal (Smash Bros., Prime 4, Fire Emblem, Bayonetta, Retro's new title, possibly Pokemon, Wave Race, Punch Out, Pikmin 4) but this **** right here would send me through the roof if it was somehow true.

Uhh....I'm gonna kinda take back what I said a little bit...I only just found out about this..

I mean, I'm still hyped either way. Smash is the game they're focusing on mainly, anything else is icing, but I'm dialing back my expectations majorly. They've never been this clear about their lineup before, they're saving next year's games for another time, and that's okay. I still think we're in for a good show, though.

Man, alot of these franchises (except ARMS) were pretty hit or miss. Most of them have either been on a long hiatus, or have already been dead for a long time. But I guess that's what Smash is also known for, reviving "dead" franchises.

I'm hoping that Golden Sun, Advance Wars, Sin and Punishment, and Famicom Dedective Club get playable characters. Those are the frachises I felt have the most potential that haven't really been included in Smash yet (well except maybe Sin and Punishment).

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but last year, Nintendo never stated that next year's games would be "featured at a later date" or anything like they are this year. I still think there's a chance that a couple 2019 games will be featured, but I'm a lot more skeptical now because of that line.

Here's a (hopefully) fun question for you all.

Sometimes, when NIntendo announces Smash Bros. characters, said announcement coincides with something else happening regarding the character and/or their series (for example, Cloud was announced in the same Direct that announced he would appear in Final Fantasy Explorers, and Shulk was announced in the same Direct that announced the 3DS port of XBC1).

So, just for fun, take your most wanted newcomer (or maybe a newcomer you just expect to be in the game, not necessarily your most wanted), and come up with an announcement regarding their series that Nintendo would pair their Smash Bros. reveal with.

For example, they could announce Phoenix Wright for Smash Bros at the same time Capcom officially announces Ace Attorney 7.

I can totally see an Elma reveal with a Xenoblade X port, or a Rex reveal with a story DLC trailer.

I can see Dk characters being announced together with a third Dk Game from Retro Studios, closing this trilogy. Since they keep taking bit by bit from the old DKC (last game we got aquatic levels and David Wise) in this new one the villain will be k.Rool and the others animal buddies will appear, not just Rambi.

It's important to dream.

I'm so tired of alts in FEH. There are a lot of characters that I want, mainly from Radiant Dawn,but the fifth Lyn....
Still would like to see her in Smash. She seems like a character with great framedata and range. I'd love to have a new person with a bow move. As someone who mained Pit in Brawl,we're very lacking in this department.

The enemies are already in Smash run. So that franchise is already there, I guess?

IMO, Legendary Lyn makes since as legendaries are highlighted popular and important characters of the franchise. Lyn was going to get one eventually. It was also right after FE7's 15th anniversary when she was announced, so it's something. Plus, a wind blessing bow character is perfect for Lyn. Takumi was the only other real option, but then people would just complain about 4 Takumis and Fates' oversaturation.

Legendary Lyn actually gets me very excited about her potential inclusion in Smash, it kind of seals the deal on her recent renaissance of popularity and relevance to make it as a newcomer. Quite a bit of movement potential and working her stunning crit animations into her myrmidon/archer-like moveset would be amazing.

It wouldnt make ryu less special. Chunli would be a cool character in smash ryu uz a ground combo character. Chun could be an air combo character. I mean she does air combos in street fighter shed be completely different.

About the lyn talk dont let salt over fe heroes inclusion be the only reason lyn shouldnt get in. Thats small minded. Shed be very different than any other de characters. Her implementation in warriors showed that

I remember her being requested since the brawl days and her popularity has endured. I think she likely did well on the smash ballot

When I think of how Lyn would work in Smash, I sort of picture her as the Sheik of sword characters. Incredibly fast and fluid movement, but really low knock back for the vast majority of her moves. She'd be really combo-heavy. Her sword wouldn't have the large disjoint like most swords. It would give her only a slight range advantage on brawler-style characters.

EDIT: Smashboards has the absolute weirdest interactions with auto fill text on mobile.

You're correct.
The wording previously has been "focus on titles releasing this year". The "next year's stuff later" hasn't been specifically stated before.

Smash is not CPR or dying franchises. If they are continuing but can use more recognition, it can help (like Xenoblade Chronicles or Fire Emblem). That's mostly it.

And no, Kid Icarus Uprising is a exception and in a different status.

I don't think people would have been demanding Earthbound on VC as much if it wasn't for Smash.

Reviving it, well not sure that's going to happen regardless. Itoi doesn't seem to want to make a fourth game. What people really want to see is Mother 3 localised which, I suppose again Smash might be helping with demand there but it still hasn't happened.

I'd be down for it. I've heard they wanted Heihachi in smash before but thinking about it now its hard to imagine. I guess Snake was a character so the darker look of Heihachi could work but it would be weird.

Inb4 Mario arrives as the next DLC character in Tekken.

EDIT: if they add Heihachi they have to keep Ryu. I am requiring this. I need to body my Ryu main friend with my Tekken character in Smash. T'would be glorious.

Pretty certain that's a very different voice than Smash 4. And if your argument is "they are using a new announcer" then anyone can just talk into a mic and then edit it to have the same effects as Smash.

Characters holding items can't attack normally anyway. Only their Special moves can be used.

It can't be official; the legit announcers have to sound better than I do... And the most I can do is an imitation of Xander Mobus. The voice he used for Wii U and 3DS is very fun to imitate.

It definitely sounds like a Smash-style announcer, so that's neat attention to detail at least. But we've eve had the actual announcer from Brawl do mockups for other characters before, so it's not really convincing, not even getting in to how easy it is to just pretend to be an announcer.

That said, nice to get any leaks at all, fake or otherwise. They're always fun.
