Ayo, Ive been in England for two weeks now.
Id love going to the SF at the 24th but it is very expensive and far. So it would be only worth it, if some cool guy could house me after the SF to Sunday or even the whole weekend.
Just want to ask, I dont even know atm if Ill really have time.

hey charles, how do you mash out of grabs efficiently? does rotating the control stick do anything? what inputs count?

Rotating control stick works (with every 1/8 rotation counting as an input), but rotating the C stick doesn't. The c stick has to go back to neutral between inputs. Other than that, every button press and release counts as one input.

cool thanks lol

Think I'll just rotate the control stick then since I've pressed some ******** buttons while mashing out of grabs.

I'm starting to find the biggest help is to know when to expect grabs and be ready to mash before you get grabbed (I think m2k has said he does this). Saves the wasted frames of possible inputs.

so are you saying that spinning the stick (each full rotation = 8 inputs) and mashing the buttons (each press = 1 input) is more effective then just rotating the stick?

essentially, although cstick has got to go back to neutral after the initial hit to do another input

in brawl, you can change the d-pad to inputs like smashes, so you can swivel the control stick, and mash everything else including dpad to get out of grabs really really fast. its the only way to deal with brawl icies XD

I think it's a maximum of one input a frame, so unless you can rotate the cstick 7.5 times a second a ta perfectly even rate, hitting buttons is going to help.

Grabs work like this (to my knowledge): You have a certain amount of frames that must occur before you can escape - relative to your own percentage. I don't remember off the top of my head but I think it might be 63 or something at 0%, that or 103, don't remember.

Every single cardinal direction inputted on the joystick counts as one frame, as does A B X Y and Z (can't remember is L and R, I think not). So yes, mashing buttons + rotating the analogue is the fastest way to reduce the frames you are in grab for.
