So, honest question.

Which of the current Fire Emblem roster would you consider Fire Emblem all stars?

:ultmarth::ultroy::ultike::ultrobin::ultchrom::ultlucina::ultcorrin::ultbyleth:
All of them really, Corrin being a slight outlyer and a controversial character from a controversial game too.

Any of these characters have seriously strong star status in their own way

Marth: First Lord, face of the franchise, most appearing main character in the series. No explanation needed.
Roy: FE6 was a first time revival of the series, while never released in the West, Roy remained one of the more popular Lords in the series. His absense proved this.
Ike: Most popular main character in the series. Even if his games didn't quite sell. He's always up there in popularity, and his games mark the beginning of 3D Fire Emblem. Also appeared in two games as main character more or less. Will always be kept relevant, somehow.
Robin, Chrom and Lucina: Are from Awakening. The series' actual revival, and until Three Houses was the best selling Fire Emblem game. Heavily featured in crossovers too, up to the point Chrom and Lucina might as well share the face of the series spotlight with Marth almost.
Byleth: Three Houses sold the best, most popular Fire Emblem game, rather popular too, don't know if they'll stand the test of time however

-Kirby style Boss Rush mode.
-Bring back the Smash Run map as a Battle Royal. (64 players teleport in. Players run around killing creeps and collecting upgrades. Map shrinks over time. Last 4 surviving players have a Smash match.)
-Add a 3rd map to WoL, where Tabuu has absorbed the Spirits released by Galeem and Dharkon's defeat.

I'm assuming a Switch 2 Upgrade would only be $20 for people who already own a game's Switch 1 version.

But if the Switch 2 Upgrade still requires me to rebuy the DLC...yeah that will be a problem. I mean I want to avoid paying $80 here so I should object to paying for a $20 upgrade...and then spending $60 on rebuying the two passes and Piranha Plant.
You wouldn't have to RE-buy the Fighters Passes and Plant if you already bought them on Switch.

If the S2E can recognize you already own the original to only charge you $20, then it can recognize if you already own the DLC.

I'm pretty sure if you upgrade to the S2E of BotW, you don't have to re-buy Master Trials and Champions Ballad if you already bought them. You just don't get them for free if you didn't already own them before.

At first FeH was the all stars game I thought so anyway so I'd have daid they're all allstars but for Smash, I think being in smash is also an all star nod to your series of origin so it makes sense to say they're all allstars.

This is such a non issue if you already own the dlc content tho.
Yeah, this is not an issue for people like us who are big Smash fans and already bought the DLC. It just kinda sucks that if a Switch 2 Edition of Ultimate gets released, people who haven't bought Ultimate would have to pay 135 dollars if they'd like to play as all characters and get access to the Switch 2 Edition upgrade.

True but if you don't:
  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition: $70
  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass: $25
  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 2: $38
Total: $133 (and if we're being pedantic, Nintendo Switch Online makes this more expensive)

To be fair, the price is the same for people who have already bought the DLC, we've just already paid most of it. But as far as optics goes it's pretty bad since enhanced editions of fighting games have basically never done this, and Street Fighter 6 just released with all of its currently released DLC bundled in.

Two months ago, I posted a roster prediction, and I've now made a few minor changes since then. I substituted the general Pokemon icon for Meowscarada. While I don't particularly care which Pokemon character gets in next, I do expect one in the base game and I feel Meowscarada is the most likely one. Coincidentally (or perhaps purposefully), all of the fully evolved starters in Smash were owned by Ash. Liko is the new star now and she has a Floragato (which could end up evolving into Meowscarada).

I swapped Kass with Master Kohga. I feel like there is more creativity to be done with him and he helps represent both BOTW and TOTK.

EDIT:

Forgot to post what my roster would actually look like now lol.

With the news that Sakurai has been working on Kirby Air Riders as opposed to a new Smash (or at the very least maybe both at the same time, since there were listings for both a 3D & 2D game), I've altered my prediction for Smash on Switch 2. I think they will do a Switch 2 edition of SSBU that would arrive probably around September or October 2026.

The upgrade pack would cost $20 and would not include the DLC. Everyone would obviously be brought back. As far as new characters, no Assist Trophies, Poke Ball Pokemon, etc. would be promoted.

From the last roster, I removed Skull Kid, Isacc, Matthew, Shovel Knight & Takamaru. I promoted Master Kohga & Ring Fit Trainee to base game and Paper Mario to the bonus/Piranha Plant-like character (personal preference honestly, since I want Paper Mario in the game). Also re-arranged some of the DLC placements and put Astro Bot in place of Kratos. I don't personally like having all that dead space in the last row, but the roster maker does not allow for more than 15 columns. I do think it should be 16 columns with all DLC and just 15 with out DLC. Still works with 16 columns (meaning, no echoes are on different rows than their base character).

I think Pauline to Ring Fit Trainee as listed is a solid base game roster. I'm hopeful we will get some echo characters as well. Light on the third parties in the base game because I'm sure they'd prefer to be DLC. Tails as a Sonic echo is obviously a big exception. Would it be the end of the world if most of these characters didn't get in? Probably not, but this is what I'd like to see. DLC would start in the beginning of 2027 and run through the end of 2031.

I feel like a Switch 2 edition is the best way to go in order to preserve everything we got from SSBU. In addition to new characters, I can see new songs being added and maybe some new stages. Maybe Assist Trophies, Items, Poke Ball Pokemon, etc. too. Really hoping for better online. There should be a new stage for Ring Fit Trainee and maybe a DK Bananza stage. For other stages, most of the DLC newcomers will come with a stage and songs.

Ideally, I'd want the NS2 Edition to be $20, but I wouldn't be terribly surprised if they pulled a TOTK/MK World and priced it at $30 if it has much of what I'm hoping for.

Closest they did was Tokyo Mirage Sessions, and that's more of a pseudo-crossover between Megami Tensei and FE.
I'll always love how they did the item shop in this game. It being a japanese convenience store where Anna is the cashier, said store having Jack frost as the mascot.

I think this is cool.

No it's not? Ike's games came out 5 years before Awakening, and it sold 5 times what any of Ike's games did.
People pirated it after the fact and everyone who did play it loves it.

Did you forget :ultpiranha: or is the assumption it becomes part of the Switch 2 Edition?
