In the context of a trailer building hype for a game that looks to be a sequel to Xenoblade, it wouldn't make sense to 'fake-out' the very people they need to buy their game in such a manner. I haven't played Kingdom Hearts myself, but the reception to the similarity between the two is more confusion than anything positive. I don't believe Monolith would want to upset fans by having them believe a character is in the game, when they have no intention of including him. It doesn't make sense from a marketing standpoint.Nice comparison. that is also a possibility.
No one is a bad person for having a different opinion.Am I a bad person for not wanting Layton?
I mean, he's a better choice than Pac Man, and while most of his games are on Nintendo consoles, he doesn't have that long history the other third parties have. Also, his popularity doesn't come close to that of Sonic, Mega Man, or even Snake.
Unless it's Goku, Shrek, Nathan Drake, or Master Chief. There is nothing wrong with not wanting a character in smash.
Alongside the PoTD at best - but likely a few minutes beforehand. When do you reckon they'll give out how long this direct will be?
You're giving me PTSD to PS All-Stars.Unless it's Goku, Shrek, Nathan Drake, or Master Chief.
You can want them.Unless it's Goku, Shrek, Nathan Drake, or Master Chief.
If he does.......words cant explain......I feel it. Ridley will cometh to us fresh from the hellfires of Norfair tomorrow.
You forgot Cloud and NarutoUnless it's Goku, Shrek, Nathan Drake, or Master Chief.
Ah, another Layton Brother! Welcome to the Madness again.Unlike Wright, Layton actually has established fighting prowess and agility in his own games. While I wouldn't want them to do this, you could easily make him a Marth clone. I'm not even kidding.
That game is BRILLIANT! You will definitely pass the time quickly with it. I couldn't put it down.Well, I just got Super Mario World for the Wii-U. Ima go kill some major time right now. Later guys!
\I will be ready for this!
Technically I'd say Issac/Golden Sun is closer to a JRPG representation, and he's already been there for over 10 years.I'm not buying into the Xenoblade for Smash hype. That game had a lot of fundamental problems even though there were some enjoyable aspects such as the music, and for a brief moment I actually felt like I was playing an RPG that shared the same kind of vision with the ones that I grew up with. The game actually started out really great. Yet, by the time you have Sharla in your party, it has already devolved into the usual JRPG archetypes and tropes. The massive draw distances are pretty cool but the Bionis was so sparsely populated and barren that there is nothing significant to do besides the long-*** walk to the next destination with no relief or pay-off; Contrast with Final Fantasy X, which featured a trans-continental pilgrimage but it always kept you engaged in the locales of the game. Even in Wind Waker you could at least cruise control long enough to take a bathroom break.
And ugh, the number of times Munado is said is freaking ridiculous to the point of being off-putting.
It's really not a bad game. It's okay to really like this game. Is it a masterpiece? No. Far from it. Does Shulk have a place in Smash, though? How can you justify that? You can say, "Well, he'd have a really cool moveset!" but where are you getting this from? His sci-fi Xboxhuge? He's as vanilla JRPG characters come. Taking his place could easily be almost any other confident blonde JRPG main character, from Tidus, to Max from Dark Chronicle/Dark Cloud 2, to Dart from Legend of Dragoon, that would actually have character development and significance in their domain. The fact that Nintendo finally has one of their own confident blonde JRPG main characters just isn't grounds for his inclusion. As long as he could bring something interesting and new to Smash Bros., I could be okay with him being in, but I just don't see that happening. Take your fanboi goggles off for a second.
I strongly disagree. I understand your point about how sparsely populated the Bionis was in places - however, there were clearly technical limitations to releasing on the Wii, and the scope of the game is phenomenal considering the hardware it ran on. Personally I found Xenoblade to be one of the most innovative and engaging RPGs I've played in a long, long time, and it made a lot of interesting choices, particularly in regards to combat, that really paid off. I truly do consider it a masterpiece, and it would seem many others feel the same. It's a fantastic new franchise for Nintendo and with X looking to be a fantastic game I believe Shulk deserves his place - partly for the potential available in his moveset, and partly as the most notable representative of one of the most critically acclaimed JRPGs in recent memory. I don't see any reason that he isn't deserving of a spot, though it's cool if you're not a fan.I'm not buying into the Xenoblade for Smash hype. Technically he would have to be in the game for us to figure that out. From outsider perspective he just wields a sword. Would be up to the devs to make him more interesting than just marth v2As long as he could bring something interesting and new to Smash Bros., I could be okay with him being in, but I just don't see that happening. OBJECTION! Cloud appeared in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories for GBA and Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy for 3DS. Still, he isn't very likely. You forgot Cloud and Naruto
I'm aware. Trust me, that was drilled into my brain.OBJECTION! Cloud appeared in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories for GBA and Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy for 3DS. Still, he isn't very likely.
On Topic: I'll probably clear some backlog while I wait for the direct.
Can't get any truer than this.Don't skip school kids.
It means you'll have longer to wait.
I agree that they shouldn't count, hence why I said his appearance wasn't very likely.I don't think glorified cameos count.
Guys, we all know who's being revealed tomorrow
Want to help me with some discrete math homework?Man, there is NOTHING to do to pass time...
