DAMN YOU NINTENDO DIRECT. There is no way I'm going to get any work done at my job today. Or tomorrow. Good thing I have a boring office job that let's me argue about Smash Bros. whenever I want.

I post the new character(s) trailers after the airing of the direct I'm going to see it since I have nothing in my schedule at 4pm (mountain time)

My expectations:

- At least 2 or 3 characters (can be newcomer or veteran). Nobody in particular
- (Hopefully) A release date

Well, it certainly doesn't help some people write April 8th as 8/4 and other people write as 4/8.

Thankfully, I got used to the MM/DD/YYYY format rather early, or I could have done the same mistake. (Note: I normally write dates as DD-MM-YYYY.)

There is one thing ridley just got hinted for this direct because of the metroid assist trophy

I'm excited for the potential TWENTY MINUTES OR MORE OF SMASH 4.

Seriously, PoTD are nice, but seeing all the gears in motion is gonna be magical.

Start the Direct off with Shulk reveal, to start off good. A bunch of other stuff, then a Mii reveal, which will seem better after someone like Shulk. Then end it all with Ridley, for a 'Big Finalé'.

He doesn't fit the criteria, comes from an anime, and isn't even Nintendo.

And even knowing that If I had to choose between him and Mii still rather have him in than Mii.

Unlikely, but nice. Ridley, Palutena, Takamaru, and Shulk are the only characters I really care about at this point. There are other characters I would like to see get in because I think they deserve it and other people want them (both Dixie and K. Rool fall into this category) but those are the only characters I am actively rooting for (besides veterans.) If anyone of them get into this direct I'll consider it a win.

Cross play has already been deconfirmed in the Developer Direct, but some sort of connection will be there.
I'm guessing something about the unlockables, like trophies will maybe be exchangeable.

im sorry if i confused you guys by cross play i mean the features that incorporate using the 3ds version with the wii u version.....

Sorry for taking this off topic again, but can someone explain me all this Krystal hate again? I always felt like this hate on Krystal was just a very hip thing to do on these forums and isn't actually based on anything. The way I look at it she just looks like a cool fox chick that can use telepathy and a spear, which seems like quite a unique addition to the smash cast and at least a lot more interesting than some generic Mii's. I don't really know enough about Krystal though so if anyone can enlighten me why I should hate her (other than smash not needing another Starfox character) please tell me.

Not all people like furrys....i mean anthropomorphic animals. Plus she's originally from the Star Fox game most people seemed to hate. That should explain some of it.

Wish I could, but I've been really sick since the weekend. Went into college for the whole day today, and now I feel like utter crap. Then one of my tutors said they won't even be in, meaning I will only have class from 2pm - 4pm. So there is no point in me going in tomorrow, since it would wreck me anyway.

Worst part is, my birthday is tomorrow and I'm going to be really sick. Making the wait for this Direct a literal pain. Which is why I really hope it blows me away.

For me, it's mostly the necessity for a fourth Star Fox rep. Or, the lack of it.
We already have Fox, Falco, and Wolf. There's no real reason to add another.

Plus, and while this could be considered "biased" on my part, her reputation has left a bad image.

Nintendog was confirmed as an assist trophy a long time ago. The breed of dog is different, though.

Yeah, there's no need for a fourth Starfox character so that's the best reason I heard for not wanting her, though that doesn't explain why people just straight up hate on her.
Her "reputation" though is not really caused by the character itself, but more by the weird community that likes furries, which I find a shame because the characters or games themselves don't go for this at all so it's a shame she gets hated on just because some people are weird. (did that sentence make sense?)

Anyway, I found this little trivia I found on one of the wiki pages about quite interesting:
"When Nintendo surveyed fans to see what new characters they hoped were in Brawl, Krystal was the top female character most hoped for. In spite of this, she didn't make a playable appearance."
Was this hate for her around back then or did it become a thing later on?

Good. I like that. Pay a cheaper price than a full game and get lots of new characters, balancing, costumes, new modes and more. I'll gladly take that over waiting six years between games.
