I don't think it matters much which do you choose. Make sure you have a fast internet connection, though.

Oh, and as far as release windows go, we could get anything for it. Summer 2014, Fall, Holiday, Q2... Hell, even just 2014. 2014 is a release window. But it's not gonna be that, considering they're hyping up a release window, and I don't think they'd hype up a window we already know.

Just thinking about it, today is gonna be somebody's best day ever, as the character announced has to be someones most wanted newcomer, and that makes me happy to think about.

Anyone got some final thoughts of how the 30 minutes will be laid out?

I'm thinking brief intro, a trailer with veterans and a newcomer
Then a developer direct on these new characters and vets
Then into new game modes, onlines, connectivity
And at the end, a final trailer with a highly anticipated newcomer.

Guys, what if the Direct drags on with the history and sales of the Smash Bros. series? (The Pokémon Direct revealing X & Y did that)

But even then, 30 minutes is a ton of meat to go around so I'm not worried.

Also, my Wii U Pro Controller to USB PC adapter that I ordered came in the mail today (yay!). Now I can play Super Smash Flash 2, Super Smash Bros.Crusade, & Smash 64 with it to help me get ready for Smash Wii U.

The site automatically adjusts, sometimes even drastically, try zooming in and out on the site and see how it changes. The top row will simply be the 2 newcomers plus Diddy Kong.

When I zoom in 75%, Villager and Megaman adjust next to each other.
So I guess my point is defeated.

I just realized something. It would be weird if we just had 2 newcomers on the site - how would Sakurai lay it out? Unless we have a site remodeled after direct, I think we will have 3-5 vets.

Well, 1 newcomer banner seems to take up as much space as 3 veterans. And you'll noticed there's 1 vet-sized empty spot next to Pit...

My guess is 2 newcomers and 2 vets is a possibility, as that's what will make all the rows even at this point

I'm glad 99% of us are excited, and not bracing for disappointment. If you are, don't.

We didn't get any characters last month. This is the longest wait for a character yet. We're getting a newcomer this month anyway, and probably a vet. That means we can get 3 veterans and be up to date. We might only get one newcomer, but with a 30 minute time slot for this, I think we're getting more than that.

We're getting an in-depth look at this game and release window. We have so many reasons to be excited. SO BE EXCITED!

Another possibility is that the 3 crates of today's PotD, while being shown off themselves, are further hints at which characters will be revealed (standard crate=been there since the beginning=SSB vet, gift crate=added in brawl=brawl vet, re-designed future crate=new for sm4sh=newcomer). Possibly someone from space...

There is no reason to NOT be hyped at this point. Guaranteed newcomer, 30 minutes, release window... The hype is real. No one can say that they aren't hyped at this point.

...I don't think they care about how the site is laid out. At all. Like, before Diddy was announced it wasn't neat either.

To the end... it depends how you have your screen set-up. If I was going by your logic I'd expect any variance of 14 veterans or 4 newcomers.
