Smash Direct has 3 newcomer reveals:

1.Mewtwo (returning)
2.Shulk
3.Mii

E3 Reveals:

4.Ridley
5.Palutena
6.Pacman

in the months leading up to the release we get:

7.Chrom/Lucina (combo/transformation character)

All newcomers will be revealed before the game comes out, going along with what Sakurai said about doing videos for reveals instead of cinematics in subspace because everyone had looked up the roster before getting the game anyway.

All Brawl vets return except for Snake. The final roster looks like this:

This isn't what I WANT it's just what, in my opinion, is the most likely and realistic thing that will happen as of right now.

We could end up getting a good number of vets + newcomer in a few hours. That would be more than enough compensation for the drought!

I think this Direct is the time Sakurai is going to get into more details about the modes and design of this game. Character customization or "directionability of attacks" will be featured and will make this Smash different and bring more options for strategy unlike the previous 3. Oh, and give us a good Free-for-All match to kick the hype up to eleven.

To the end... it depends how you have your screen set-up. If I was going by your logic I'd expect any variance of 14 veterans or 4 newcomers.

Hmm, good point. I hadn't thought of it like that. I guess I'm just really hoping to see more than 1 newcomer after all this time. Their reveals have been so well-executed, and I'd like to see more of that. Perhaps the website will change after the Direct, and the pictures will change to be side-by-side like they are on the bottom of the Direct page.

As much as I love being bad cop, I don't want to see everyone else follow his example. So I'll stress Star's post:

Well, it's nice to see the website is back up (probably won't last the entire night though). Almost there guys, just remember, let's try to maintain our best behavior. Yes, it's exciting and we all want to have fun, but let's not get too carried away.

One thing I will advise the community on now is overusing videos and GIFs. Tonight is probably going to bring a lot of traffic to this board, and one of the last things we need is ten different users posting reaction videos/images that are going to bog the bandwith down anymore than necessary. Doesn't take a lot for the browsers of our mobile members to crash. If you feel the situation absolutely needs a GIF, I'd ask everyone to follow this quick process of evaluation before making a decision:

1) If the site takes more than 30 secs to a minute to load, put your media into a collapse tag -- assuming the page is still up.
2) Check to see how many GIFs and or videos are already on the page. If there are more than five (and that's being generous), try using collapse tag.
3) If you're going to quote someone who has a GIF or video, remove from the quote before replying.

Want to keep things streamlined here. Cannot speak for other moderators but my tolerance is going to be much shorter tonight, so let's all try to keep things as smooth as possible, okay? Help me help you.

The few moments during/after the reveals in the direct will be the most hectic, but keep in mind post-Direct hype won't warrant any special treatment.
