Reason: This is the song that really comes to mind when you think of the series, so this is a definite. I'd would have it sped up 1.5x and with a little more noticeable percussion to have it fit in with the fighting game environment, but even on its own, it is a solid inclusion.

Reason: A fun little medley of songs about being out and walking your dog. Walking the Dog takes center stage, but Street Marker and Shopping theme switch up the pace and tempo and offer up two memorable themes that weren't strong enough to be their own tracks. Barc Shop could almost be it's own track, but I think it works better in the medley. And of course, capping it with Return Home, which is just a short jingle, but is instantly familiar to any Nintendog owner.

Reason: Okay, it's another slow and serene song, but this track is so gosh-darn beautiful. I want it in the game and I think this stage fits it best. You might no be able to picture fighting to this track, but I could watch the puppy in the background play around all day to this song.

Notes: It's the original Nintendog: Poochy! He had his own stage in Tetris Attack, and this is the song that accompanied it. Sure, he may be associated with the Yoshi Universe, but this song was part of the Puzzle League series and actually showed up in Panel De Pon first. Poochy Ain't Stupid, but maybe this choice is. Oh well, I like it!

Reason: The main theme is an important track for sure, but as many pointed out, the Bath Theme is very similar. So I thought that maybe around the 50 second track, it could transition into the sequel's title, which provides a more jazzy upbeat to spice things up. Then after it plays through, things slow back down for the Main Theme. Perhaps the segment could be marked by a cat joining the Nintendog in the background?

Reason: Well, remember how I thought of this as the PictoChat successor? Well, one of the themes PictoChat had was the Wii Shop Channel, but that wouldn't be necessarily fitting for a 3DS stage. So, I decided to go and rep the underdog brother of the DS and 3DS. No, not the 2DS! The DSi, of course! It also helps that it's pretty catchy and that it paved the way for the eShop of today. So pay tribute to this new age classic!

Reason: This one was a toughie. I risk having too many Brawl tracks on my list. On the other hand, nothing else I could think (particularly from Nintendogs) had an intense sound to contrast the others and this is a track I feel meets that requirement. Reason: T'was already confirmed.

2.. "A Dog's Day" Medley
Origin: Nintendogs (DS, 2005)

- Shopping Theme (0:00 - 0:32)

Reason: Inspired by dog lovers, this idea of a medley came to my head from the phrase "A Dog's Day Out". Just a medley going through the day of a man/woman and their loving dog. (I would've fit Bath Time somewhere in here, but it having a confirmed slot its own meant I had to use something else.)

3. Credits
Origin: Nintendogs + Cats (3DS, 2011)
Reason: A very peaceful theme, co-ordinating with the beautiful, sunny weather in the stage's background, where a Nintendog can enjoy. But that doesn't mean 4 iconic game characters can't enjoy their fighting fun in the sun.

4. Swordplay
Origin: Nintendogs + Cats (3DS, 2011)
Sorry for the quality, but this was the only video of the song I could find. A very mishap melody reminiscent of playful chaos. Works well for SSB4.

5. Main Theme
Origin: Chibi-Robo! (Gamecube, 2005)
Reason: An underrated gem about a robot helper *a-hem* helping around the house, that wasn't well credited by many as fans wanted it to. But the little robot has stated appearing once again, being given a remake on the Wii, and most recently a new eShop game on the 3DS. One of the best things from the original was its soundtrack, including its Main theme. Very upbeat and playfully charming, its melody syncs well with the Nintendog stage setting.

6. Challenge
Origin: Pullblox/Pushmo (3DS, 2011)
Reason: Figured this stage would be the best choice to highlight a hit eShop game. One of the more successful eShop games, Pullblox' colourful setting and friendly tone strikes well with the Nintendog's stage. So does this theme. Simple and catchy, its simply there to fill the tone instead of distracting the players.

7. Challenge
Origin: Picross 3D (DS, 2009)
Reason: The most recent iteration of a recurring series, Picross seemed to regain its identity after cropping up on the DS, well known as a unique puzzle series in Nintendo's library. What else? It has a cute pixel dog on the cover! ...no? Well screw it, that's all I got. But the this tune is definitely not something to ignore. A rhythmic beat that keeps your head bobbing like a dog with a bouncy ball.

8. Pictochat
Origin: Super Smash Bros. Brawl (2008)
Reason: A past track that fits surprisingly well. Almost a nostalgic trip to the previous decade, hitting the memories home with its DS/Wii SFX. And it isn't bad at stirring up an atmosphere as well, with its jazzy piano play and moderate tempo.

This is a great contest idea. Also love the cel shaded look on the 3DS version - and it looks like the stages for that version seem to be more based on handheld games, while the WiiU version does the normal thing.
