Being officially revealed for 3D World today doesn't change that.

And before we get to the post-Brawl section, what's our cut-off point for too recent for Smash 4? I'd say Kid Icarus Uprising's Japanese release date.

It would have to be later than that.
He didn't set up the roster for Smash as soon as Uprising hit shelves.
Remember that development started on May 2012.

The 64-Melee list is rather small of the series that are already featured on the chart (which may be made even smaller), so I am considering combining it with the post-Melee list.


Doshin the Giant (December 1, 1999)
Custom Robo (December 8, 1999)
Card Hero (February 21, 2000)
Sin & Punishment (November 21, 2000)
Kuru Kuru Kururin (March 21, 2001)
Animal Crossing (April 14, 2001)
Golden Sun (August 1, 2001)

Any other series to include? Also, I'm considering removing Card Hero and Kuru Kuru Kurrurin.

Don't think there is any series I know of that between 64 and Melee.
Probably should keep it as it is along with your intended removals.

I'd keep Kuru*3 as it got relatively more appearance in the last Smash games

Yeah you should keep Kururin and not just because I made a support thread for him. Like others said, the series has gotten a few references in the smash series since Melee so Sakurai knows that it exists at least.

Remove Card Hero, otherwise yeah, we all want Kururin to stay.

Do we really need to dwell on this any further, or can we move onto post-Melee? The list is so small that it most certainly should merge with post-Melee's.

Uh...? He isn't a newcomer, he hasn't been confirmed yet. Characters with the gray/white backgrounds have yet to be confirmed to be in the game.

Because we don't know if he's returning man!! Giga Bowser is technically both a playable character and a veteren (like Wario Man).

For clarification, all playable characters from the past will be on the chart.
This includes the Final Smash-exclusive Giga Bowser and Wario-Man (but not the glitch abuse Master Hand).

...which is why Giga Mac is being added to the chart which I forgot to mention earlier.
