I've been meaning to ask this, so here it goes!

The worst case scenario for character inclusion is that Sakurai only adds one character. If you had the choice, who would that be?

Oh, and I know that this is unrealistic, I'm just asking.

Megaman. No Question.

My preference would be Mega Man.

But Mewtwo would be the best for the roster.

still think kat and ana should be in the chart because of possibility. who knows, they might be in the game already.

Well then, how about I add Foreman Spike to the chart because of possibility and could be in the game already too?

go for it. its your chart, isn't it?

EDIT: no, but really, Kat and Ana might have a good chance for representing warioware, and seem to be the only ones in the game really fit for combat. don't take any other characters off, since the other characters for the franchise seem just as likely, but if some of the other characters that are less likely are on it, i say kat and ana should be too.

alright, i'm done.

Mega Man, Mewtwo, Roy, and one other character besides Ridley.

That is my minimum for newcomers.
I used to be like that, saying I only wanted little mac, ridley, k rool and megaman.

....but then I looked around the forums a bit more :D

Fit for combat?
How about the kung-fu fighting Young Cricket?
The magic witch Ashley?
The alien invader Orbulon?

As for "other characters that are less likely", I've said it before, I will say it again; characters are not evaluated between series. They are only evaluated between their own series, and Kat & Ana are not exactly likely when compared to Mona, Jimmy, and Ashley.

I would argue, but I already said I was done. so I'm done.

I'm still not 100% understanding Higgs's presence here/popularity but w/e. It just feels weird to have him on here when Adam is far far more important to Metroid as a whole and gets left off. Given my choice of trying to narrow it down to "likely" reps, I'd probably kick out Tempo, Cress, the extra Sonic/MGS characters and Victini (because let's be fair his little phase of popularity is long past now), and I'd add in Rayman, Adam, and even though I'm not a fan of him, Magnus. But hey, it's not my roster, and removing guys doesn't seem to be an option. Seeing as how addition to the roster requires a bit of reasoning, let's see what I can whip up for the three I think are missing.

Rayman
Decent amount of support
Potential for a very interesting, creative moveset
Continuous Nintendo support from his creation, with Rayman 1 releasing to the Gameboy systems, and the only games not released on Nintendo consoles being Rayman Jr., Golf, and Jungle Run, which were either Phone-exclusive games in the case of Golf and Jungle Run, or educational games, in the case of Rayman Jr.
A number of Nintendo exclusive titles, such as Rayman: Hoodlum's Revenge and Raving Rabbids 2 and 3. (Debatable point but still worth mentioning.)
Rayman Legends, of course, was intended to be a Wii-U exclusive by it's creators. This was only changed when Ubisoft higher-ups forced the game to be delayed in order for it to go multiplatform, and even then an exclusive Wii-U "demo app" featuring Rayman Legends levels is currently running up until the game's release.

Adam Malkovich
Has the benefit of being a major character in the latest game in the series.
Important character to the Metroid series as a whole, being the character that more or less acted as Samus's father figure.
Has an important role in both Other M and Fusion, as a main character in the storyline. Yes, one of those roles was a computer, but it was his psyche running it, which by the end of Fusion seemed to have gained some sentience.
Has access to all of the Federation's weaponry and equipment, which includes ice beam pistols and plasma cannons, meaning he has more than enough moveset potential and fighting capability. He also ranks high enough to be a commander within the Federation, and was important enough to have his psyche preserved.
Has the potential to reappear in future Metroid titles just as much as Higgs does, either as his computerized self in a sequel to Fusion, or as a human in another prequel, given the tendency of the series to jump around timeline-wise.

Magnus
Again, decent support and popularity.
Features prominently in pre-release KI:U trailers, and also within game, appearing in multiple chapters as both a helper and a bossfight.
One of the only three "real" playable characters in Uprising, the other two being Pit and Dark Pit.
Definitely combat capable, and has the potential to be unique with his massive blade.
One of the few characters that has a developed backstory, regarding his relationship with Gaol and their deceased child.

Overall, these guys definitely ought to be added, if only because of less-likely/deserving characters already present on the list.

Wait...this isn't a Christmas List thread?

I'm still pretty anxious to see how right I was when the new chart goes up. So far, I'm two for two! :awesome:

Pac-Man would be my choice because of the fact that he is well known, lots of moveset potential, and his developer is co-developing the game. Mega man probably would make it as a first 3rd party because of the fact that Capcom is taking stupid pills and that he isn't exactly a the first priority charcter right now even with the TONS of popularity.

You don't say...

Anyway, real talk, you got a Pacman moveset for me?
I've been looking for a good one for months now...
Based on his powers in the Pac-Man World series.
B: Chomp
B>: Rev Roll
Bv: Butt Bounce
B^: Pac-Dot Chain
Final Smash: Power Pellet
I'm too lazy to do A moves. Basic punches and kicks and all that generic ****.

You could always look at our move sets in the thread.
Yeah, I've seen all the generic ones, but none interest me, I feel most people are missing the point in what I'd look for in PacMan to make him intersting.

>Chomp
Just like Wario... or Dedede, or Yoshi... Same input too.

>Rev Roll
Like Sonic's Side B, or Yoshi's, I'm sure I could come up with other characters that have a similar Side B. If I bothered to think about it more.

>Butt Bounce
Oh, like Yoshi and Bowser... Except with a bounce.

>Pac-Dot Chain
a.k.a. Generic recovery move. Riveting!

Not to sound like a **** but... How exciting. Why play Pacman when we already have Yoshi? Tell me, what exactly is his playstyle? What new play strategy is he bringing to the table that would make players wanna play as him outside of "He's Pacman," because I'll be honest, I was born in 1990, and my first console was an NES, but I don't give two ****s about "how important Pacman is to the industry" he's old washed up news, and he's literally among the least exciting candidates for Smash 4. He litrally has NO REASON to be in Smash given what his supporters have presented me with.

I mean, I can look at Lyn, and Ashley, and Ridley and just get excited about all the new sorts of things they could bring to the game, in terms of untapped character strategies, simply based on their source material and character design, but when I look at Pacman I just see a generic filler character who is not exciting in the least, not to mention his design and concept are about as simple and generic as you can get. Kirby works because his source material gives him tons to work with. Pacman fans REALLY have to stretch to come up with a very generic moveset for him. Look at Snake for example, part of the reason behind his hype preBrawl was because people wanted to see what a Stealthy, CQC-using soldier with an arsenal of firearms could bring to the roster. Pacman... Not so much.
