I'm betting the next reveal will be either, in order of likeliness: Falco, Capt Falcon, Mr G&W, Ness or Lucas

So I did some research on falcons

-Falco is named after the genus falcons belong to
-They can reach speeds 389km/h
-They are the fastest thing on Earth, not factoring in a size-to-distance-ratio
-They eat mainly bats and sometimes insects
-The males are called tiercels, as they are one-third smaller than the females
-A study by ornithologist, Louis Lefebvre found falcons to be the smartest birds on Earth, tied only with corvids

So I screwed around with the controls for Kid Icarus Uprising and finally found something comfortable. Despite this, using the stand, and no longer using the stylus, I can only play maybe two missions before my wrist hurts too much to keep playing. If they do end up doing a sequel to this game, I hope it's on a console with an actual controller.

No...he's a pheasant.
The Iwata Asks interview on 64 3D revealed that the crew members were based off of various Japanese folklore and actually refers to Falco as a pheasant.

He has the colors of an Edward's pheasant (solid blue feathers with red around the eyes) the tail shape, and even the "crest" (though his is blue like his feathers and not white). The only non-pheasant feature is his "bird of prey" beak, which is most likely a design choice to go with his personality or a nod to his name being based on an actual "bird of prey".
