Yeah, I would mainly expect character trailers/general trailers and maybe a more finite release date during the direct, whereas the Discussion could be used to elaborate on all the other kinds of information they have in store.
I do wonder if they'll use the Invitational as a way to reveal information though (characters, etc.), since they'll have all of those Smash fans in one place and even watching over the internet. Sounds like the perfect time

Said challenger is Sakurai himself, who fights with an unseen newcomer. Of which he uses to fight the champion.

Good point. However, I do think it would be awesome to be watching the championship, then once the match is over, seeing a Challenger Approaching banner flash on the screen, then seeing either Mewtwo, the character everyone's wanted since melee, or Ridley, the character that everyone's gotten doubts about get fought by the winner.
And I know their are other characters that would work, it's just that they have probably the biggest fanbase.

Yep. I wouldn't be surprised if Archie/Maxie's signature Pokemon got mega evolutions too: Mega Camerupt (hopefully addressing its terrible typing) and Mega Sharpedo (addressing its tissue paper like defenses).

Mega Sceptile looks badass. Brendan's new design is kind of cool, though I like the original a bit more. I hope we get to see Mega Metagross too.
In other news, Marvel's making this new mini-series about different Spider-Men(and Women)from different worlds. It's awesome to see Spider-Man Noir again. The third one looks like he could show up in a Megaman game.

Well, with these new Mega Evolutions, it's safe to assume there will be patches for X/Y for compatibility reasons.
Anyway, I wonder if there will be trainer customization like in X/Y for these remakes...
And the fact this remake is in 3D, it couldn't be a better time to bring Secret Bases back.

I would imagine that you'd still be able to change you're Trainer's clothes. At the very least, they'll likely add skin tones for your character. You know what would be cool, being able to chose eye and hair color when you first make your trainer, that'd be less cumbersome.
