To be honest, I had enough fun with offline battles that I never felt the need to play online.

I never played online much.

The online was too laggy for me anyhow. Plus everyone I play with online in any game is usually so skilled it kinda sucks the fun right out of it. They always pick Ike aka the "right" character and just sorta make the game incredibly unfun. Even in other games they always have their "right" character to pick and all this other stuff that I frankly just don't care, I just wanna pick a character, go online and play against somebody without all the techy stuff getting in the way.

Wii U/3DS finally DOES have online that seems to interest me with the whole "For Fun" and "For Glory". I'm more of a "For Fun" kinda guy. I like items and stages that are not Final Destination. And actually I'm really pleased that even the NON Final Destination stages have Final Destinations forms.... every time I've gone to play Smash with somebody it's ALWAYS Final Destination... the change of scenery and music will be nice!

Online battles made me discover something wrong with Ike.

Just sorta spam the Smash attacks... CONSTANTLY. Even offline when I went to various shops and houses and parties and such people playing it would just play as Ike... it would kinda stop being Smash Bros and start being the game about 4 Ikes running around on Final Destination spamming the side smash. It got very annoying very quickly. I could never get Meta Knight to actually work in the overpowered way he's supposed to because many of his attacks require you to be point blank since his sword is so little, and I'd always get smoked before actually getting anything done.

That's really weird. I do remember the "Forces of Nature" playlist requires you to have both of the multiplayer-DLCs (Fenix Rising and Forces of Nature), while the "Standard" playlist allowed you to play despite not having them, but just not on servers (this could be remedied by playing in the "TDM-no-DLC" playlist.

Can you play any other modes besides Versus? If you can't even play Campaign, then it sounds like its an Xbox Live problem, not a Gears specific one. Maybe clearing your queue/cache then redownloading all the necessary Title Updates will fix it.

I haven't tried playing online Campaign. But I would assum.e since I am unable to switch my join type thing to anything other then join private or join system link that, Campaign would be unplayable online as well.

I'll try Campaign tonight and see how it works. If it's another failure I'll try cleaning the cache and re-download stuff again.

On a similar note. I was wanting to play through the trilogy's story again. So I was playing the first Gears game. During the middle of playing my 360 started making weird noises. So I turned it off. My disc was scratched up bad and cleaner wouldn't fix it. So now I need to buy myself another disk. e_e

But in terms of just plain cuteness vs just plain sexiness without any overlaps. I have to give cuteness the win. :L

Actually, the chance to play really skilled people is exactly why I like online play. Of all my friends I played with there was just one guy that really challenged me, and he is back in Japan now so..

Also the lag is something I was able to get over, at first I was like.. "This lag sucks, and I hate losing because of it etc.." But the real issue was I just had a lot of pride when I started playing online, once I got over it, and stopped caring so much when I lost, online play got really exciting for me, and I started playing for the challenge, and to seek to continuously get better, something that offline play has trouble offering due to there being more of a limit on pools of players.

Sure, his attacks are powerful and MK's pretty light, but unless they are his jab, bair or counter, offline you should be able to react in time most of the time because his moves come out so slow and rely on good spacing. If Ike starts that Forward Smash you can just cape behind him. His up and and forwards take like half a second to execute.

Oh that. I thought that was tourney lingo... I was gonna give my usual Pokemon response when I just go "HV, EV, STAB? what even IS that?"

I just stick to my main Sonic the Hedgehog. Up close and personal, runs fast and has his epic spring so he can evade and basically hit and run the whole thing. Without him I'd never survive some of those matches. Donkey Kong being my other dude. Once again, up close and personal, but with enough reach and knockback to really feel good.

Little Mac is also beginning to look like a character I'd use too. Up close, personal, comes with enough wallop to send dudes flying when used right. Not being able to jump around because air game stinks is something I'll have to get used to though.... I like jumping around.... Sonic's Spring being one of my favorites. Plus Donkey Kong's forward air is really nice when you land it just right and make that meteor smash. It feels OH SO GOOD.

Teleporting around and other really techy stuff like that has never been my thing. Zelda, Sheik, those characters were never my thing. Greninja doesn't look like a character I'd use. I'll definitely give that Wii Fit Trainer a try though. She/He looks really fun. Lots of physical attacks that do the perfect "up close and personal" fighting style I like, moves fast enough, has an air game that seems good enough, and even has the Sun Salutation as a last resort projectile.
