I'm sure we haven't seen all characters in Mario Kart 8. I think Birdo, Bowser Jr., Diddy Kong and King Boo are likely to appear. I'd like to see Dry Bones, Dry Bowser and Funky Kong returning too.

Why is Dry Bones a popular character?

I mean, I mentioned before how I love Dry Bones and he i my favorite Mario enemy, but even then I would've thought that he was just a random childhood favorite of mine.

For me.
I loved him in MKDS. And was disappointed by his disappearance in MK7.

But for a reason, it's mostly his design.
I always thought he looked cool.

I think it's about time Kamek got his due in MK. I mean he was all set to appear 7 games ago and still hasn't shown up.

I suppose it's because among lightweight characters he stands out due to being basically a zombie, which is a bit of a contrast form the typical lightweight characters who tend to be something long the lines of being meek or adorable. It also helps that his selection of karts in Mario Kart DS are rather effective, and in Mario Kart Wii Dry Bones bonuses cater to drifting and mini-turbos.

At least that's how I see it.

Highly unlikely. We haven't even seen any other non-Mario Nintendo character in Mario kart besides R.O.B. .

Which of funny because I think Dry Bones is the cutest one. :p

But, I love his design and concept. It's good to see a character I like actually be popular for a change. :3

With all that said, I would be fine if at least Dry Bowser returns, but I still prefer Dry Bones.

Dry bones was my main in DS, his acceleration was amazing. In Wii I used him but he was... meh.
In 7 I absolutely loved Lakitu. So yeah, as long as those 2 return I'm happy (and 1 is already confirmed).

The roster potential is absolutely insane of how many characters could show up in MK8. Considering its not about their fighting skills like smash, the roster could be absolutely humongous! Im almost eager to create a fan one, and im sure many fan made ones out there were not expecting the Koopalings on their roster.

Its like, take the roster from Mario Super Sluggers, add everyone else currently announced for Mario Kart 8 that's not already part of that roster (kooplings, Metal Mario, etc), add unannounced racers that aren't part of the roster (Dry Bowser, Honey Queen, R.O.B., etc) then add even more for the lolz and PRESTO!

...and googling for said roster I found this fan-made baseball roster would could easily be a great MK8 roster too! (just add metal Mario)

E. Gadd and Kamek are both long overdue imo.

Toadsworth, Nabbit, Hammer Bro, Dixie, Cranky, and even Pauline would make good additions too.
