I'd like to see Geno get in, if that isn't obvious enough...

But, he is highly unlikely, and most Geno fans are still disheartened because of the Brawl days. I hope Ridley and Geno make it in this time.

Just read through some comments of anti-Ridley supporters on Facebook and YouTube.

Ugh...

Watch this video..

Can't get through it. Would love to but the guy has negative charisma. What am I supposed to be getting from this?

Remember, Sakurai will only add characters who are the most iconic, memorable, and recognizeable. Geno does not meet those requirements. Plus, there are also licensing issues concerning Geno, so he wont be in Smash.

Were you a fan of the series before buying your first game? Did you know about the plots for the games and watch walkthroughs of them?

If not...then I feel sorry for you. XD
You must've been so confused.

------

Also...
Something I've been working on for the past day or so.

Yep, that's the Lumiose City stage recreated. Not finished yet, obviously. I'm almost done with the tower, though.

Hope to get it into Brawl, but I don't know how to import stages yet...

This is amazing.

Eh, iconic/memorable can easily debatable. Just because I don't see Dr. Mario as iconic, Sakurai did. To me, he is the same as Mario. In fact, he's a spin-off game of Mario, which is why people argue that Waluigi cannot get in... Again, if Sakurai wants him in, then he'll be in.

Besides, the fans have more input than that. Little Mac, for example. From what I've gathered, most of Japan were shocked at his inclusion. Some didn't even know who he was. Besides, Sonic got in. Not because he is iconic, memorable, or recognizable. Those are three traits that he possessed, yes, but that is not why he got in. The fans wanted to see Mario vs. Sonic. And, thus, he was added.

And the game from which Geno came from was a big step for Nintendo. There are tons of people here who could go into details about it, but just check the front page of the Geno board for Sm4sh or Brawl. The Brawl board was filled with info for him. There is always a chance, and Geno was one of the top characters on the Pre-Brawl poll, correct? (If I am wrong on that, then someone please correct me.)

Still a few bloopers in this.

first off, just saying that Sonic got in by fan desire alone is far from true. Yuji Naka started the whole thing, not the fans. Naka requested Sonic in Melee, but Melee was too far in development, Sakurai remembered this and pushed for Naka's successor's permission to get Sonic in. Fan desire means absolutely nothing. Geno is not famous at all, so he wont make it in.

You should be questioning people who want Microsoft, Sony, and non video game characters.
To be honest I would be OK to have Microsoft or Sony characters, as long as they are videogame characters.
Banjo-Kazooie obviously, Crash, Spyro, Tomb Raider...
Master Chief would be pretty ****ty but sill a hundred times better than Goku or **** like that.

I didn't know Sonic was pushed for Melee. That's cool. I wish he would have gotten in then. I thought it was more about the fans wanting to see Mario vs. Sonic. I guess he probably didn't get in because Nintendo didn't want Sonic in one of their games, and the Dreamcast was still trying to hang on?

Geno isn't famous? I guess not. More of a cult following. But he had(emphasis on this because of Brawl) clamoring for his inclusion than most that were included. Again, I doubt that he will make it in. But he could represent a branch of Mario games that have yet to be represented(unless you include Peach's frying pan as a good representation of SMRPG). But he does have a following.

Except the part where you listed two activision reps and a Square Enix/Crystal Dynamics rep. :troll:

I know that obviously, but they're still mostly Sony icons anyway. Sony per se doesn't own many franchises.
Sly Cooper, Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter then would be pretty cool in Smash Bros. They fit perfectly.

About the Geno discussion: Geno would have to force his way through the crowd of more prominent Square-Enix characters as well, where Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest are DEFINITELY bigger and more recognizable, especially Dragon Quest on the Nintendo side.

I never played Mario RPG (ironically it's the ONLY Mario RPG I've never played) so I don't know why Geno is so much liked. Based on the official artwork I've seen, it's ugly as hell. I like having characters that I don't know if they look good and are interesting gameplay-wise, but Geno? Eh.
Black Mage looks much much better personally, but I don't know anything about Final Fantasy.

When it comes to Square-Enix reps, I think most choices are the ones that appear in Mario spin-offs, which means Black Mage, White Mage, Ninja, Moogle, Cactuar (though I've never seen a Cactuar supporter), Slime, and a myriad of other Dragon Quest characters because of Fortune Street/Itadachi Street.

I also like Cactuar. Again, I know **** of Final Fantasy, but isn't he like a mascot or something like that? I see him everywhere and he's very recognizable.

I've seen an entire walkthrough for KH2 and I slight agree with you. Most of the Organization XIII are basically Dark Riku from KH1 on steriods, especially Saiix and Xaldin. Not to mention Xemnas seems harder in this game than in Dream Drop Distance. I might get Kingdom Hearts 2.5 after I'm finished completing 1.5.
xD. Saix was easy, Xemnas was also harder in DDD then KH2, at least for me. Final bosses are never hard in a KH game, KH2 Xemnas included. Xaldin is only hard if you don't use reaction commands.

Of the organization I would say Xigbar and Demyx are the hardest. But I had a harder time with Nobody mobs in KH2 then I did with bosses for some reason. xD

Chain of Memories is probably the hardest. Partly because your abilities are an expendable resource, and partly because the boss battles are insane.

Anyway, Miyamato said Nintendo was working on a new IP. Any news on that?
CoM.. I will only ever play the game on easy mode. As I hate the battle system. e_e

Square Enix and ASW: King of convoluted and incredibly long plots!
Because you can barely discuss plot without accidentally spoiling the juicy parts of the story.
KH isn't the convoluted now c'mon. Just all over the place. But when you get down to it, it is actually rather simple imo.

Remember, Sakurai will only add characters who are the most iconic, memorable, and recognizeable. Geno does not meet those requirements. Plus, there are also licensing issues concerning Geno, so he wont be in Smash.
Popularity also has a factor. You should also make that and in the first sentence to and/or.

Still a few bloopers in this.

Sonic was a late inclusion in Brawl. He got in solely because of popularity and nothing else, Sakurai even said so. Megaman got in because of his popularity as well.

Keep in mind that Geno has had a strong fanbase since Melee and continues to stay strong, but it obviously isn't at Megaman/Sonic level.

One thing that pisses me off is when feminazis always accuse games like Dead or Alive and Soul Calibur sexist. It's as if they don't realize that most women don't play fighting games.

Don't try to convince me, I know you're wrong. The reason that Sonic was late for Brawl is because Yuji Naka wasn't with SEGA at the time, his successor was very reluctant to allow Sakurai to put Sonic into Brawl when Sakurai returned.

I think Cactuars have appeared in most of the Final Fantasy games? I could be wrong, but I DO know that one was playable in Mario Hoops 3-on-3 alongside Moogle, Ninja, White Mage, and Black Mage.

Nintendo Power;

Nintendo Power: We're just glad he made it into the Subspace Emissary. You've talked previously about how Solid Snake ended up in the game, but how about Sonic? How did his inclusion come about?

Sakurai: At the time we announced Snake, we actually put together a survey for our users, asking which characters they would like to see in the game. And a huge amount of people said Sonic, especially in the United States. So in order to satisfy our fans, I thought it was a good idea to try to include Sonic. But that was the thing that put the whole process in motion.
Where is your source?

I really want Lucas to be in, I'm sorry, and a ton of people will disagree with me on this. Lucas deserves a spot more than Ness, sure Ness is more recognized by Western countries, but Lucas as a character is better. He's more relatable, and that makes his emotional bond with the player stronger. Also, he is more fun to play as in Brawl.

The problem is? The games are pretty sexist due to the oversexualized portrayal of women. Soul Calibur is better in only the sense it affects everyone. Mortal Kombat, surprisingly, barely did this outside of a tiny slew of characters till 9, where it went overboard. -_-

Let's be honest, Ivy's chest does not need to be that big. :| I mean, it was fine maybe around the second game, where she grew a little, but come on! I'm a pervert myself, but jeez... also, she's chaste, making this more odd. :/ Then again, one of the creators was confirmed as sexist anyway. He made a rule that "any woman over 35 cannot be playable because they're too old." It doesn't apply to men. DoA has the other problem, oversexualized females just in general.

I think Cactuars have appeared in most of the Final Fantasy games? I could be wrong, but I DO know that one was playable in Mario Hoops 3-on-3 alongside Moogle, Ninja, White Mage, and Black Mage.
I can't remember. If Square-Enix has anything in the game, he'd make a great Assist Trophy~

When it comes to a lot of video games, there are some very sexist themes and whatnot. Oversexualizing women, especially, is something that a lot of games do.

Whether Dead or Alive and/or Soul Caliber are games that do that, I can't say. I haven't played them.

Yuji Naka was interviewed about the situation, and said himself that Sonic was planned for Melee. I discredit this source you provided because Sakurai always leaves things out. Here's what was reported by the interview

Also, Yuji Naka stated that as rumoured a long time ago Sonic was intended to be included in Super Smash Brothers Melee but due to time constraints he was excluded. However he did state "The experience has left a door open for us to work with Nintendo on something similar in the future," he added "So we may see Sonic and Mario working [or fighting] together soon."

You can't just rely on Sakurai alone on things like this, you need to have knowledge from Naka as well in case Sakurai is holding something back.

Did O forget to mention how they responded to Metroid: Other M? :troll:

Nintendo games that involve rescuing a female are sexist yet no one cries about them.

That only proves that Sonic was asked for in Melee and nothing else, which is already highly known.

It however proves nothing as to that being the reason he was included in Brawl. While Sakurai state why he got into Brawl in an interview. I'm sorry but all you are doing is assuming, and what do they say about assuming? While Sakurai himself stated how sonic got into Brawl.

Actually, I've heard plenty of complaints about it. But not all of Nintendo's females are so stereotypically feminine (see: Samus), so Nintendo gets less flak about it.
