Speaking of not making assumptions, why is everyone 100% convinced that Wii Fit Trainer has a male alt costume? It could have just as easily been an assist trophy. I keep reading "this person could have an alt costume, like Wii Fit Trainer," when that isn't really a confirmed fact.

Well, the male Wii Fit Trainer seems to have a similar jumping animation as the female one... and unlike Assist Trophies, his fingers are separate... a tell-tale sign of a playable character.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I think he's a costume, but it's far from confirmed. Especially considering that we have not seen the costume again, and we have had PLENTY of opportunities as Sakurai likes to show case the Wii Fit Trainer.

The fingers are a good point, though, didn't consider that (possibly because we didn't have as many assists when he was revealed.)

But not confirmed, regardless. He mentioned nothing about him being a costume. It's at best implied due to being a Halloween update. -_-

Also, he didn't say anything about Starfy being an Assist when he showed up, so... who knows.

I lean towards the costume bit myself, but even I can say "wait and see" right now. Mostly because that's all we can do.

I wonder if they will ever at some point become Twinrova, but it's nice to see them making an appearance in the game. I hope Sakurai and Co. dig deep for character for all game series.....I want Lanky Kong.

I hope Square-Enix gets a regular character or is allowed to have some of their stuff added. Mallow would make a wonderful Assist Trophy, using his lightning attacks.

Never mind Final Fantasy references. Albeit, at least now Cloud can get in(not that he should) due to Theatricrhythm Final Fantasy(Did I spell that right?) since he fully appears as playable in a Nintendo game. But there's a lot of other cool choices. I think Squall's in there, and his gunblade would make for a very interesting moveset with how it works. Projectiles, elemental swipes, never mind his regular magic he could use. Like Aero for an Up B, where he's floated upwards. And so on. I won't lie, FF has a ton of potential for a fun moveset.

As for Sqeenix. SMRPG or KK or bust. Well I guess Chrono Trigger would be ok to.

Cloud and Squall have made Nintendo appearances. Good enough for me. Any game they're playable in on Nintendo means they're part of Nintendo's history by default. And any prominent roles otherwise.

I like Black Mage too, don't get me wrong, but Squall is still my favorite. If I want a spellcaster, I'll take Krystal or Brian(Quest 64) instead. Black Mage's problem is he doesn't use a staff anyway, but more often knives are what he's associated with now. Mostly due to 8-Bit Theatre.

Toadsworth being playable would be a slap in the face to Toad fans. I can think of a dozen reasons off the top of my head why that would end horribly.

Honestly, I really would of liked it if Toadsworth appeared as Peach's neutral special. I mean isn't he Peach's guardian/advisor some **** like that?

I just want to say that playing as Scrooge McDuck in a Donkey Kong game is awesome. I don't mind them stealing moves from beloved 8-bit games and I think Retro needs to take this to the next level if they do another DKC. Make Lanky Kong playable and give him the complete Bionic Commando treatment. Have Candy actually throw candy to control characters Little Nemo style. Give Funky a blue bandanna and spread shot.

I thought they could have changed Peach's neutral speical to something similar to what she does in Super Princess Peach. That way Toad could have been a playable character and we would have had the 5 main characters from the original Super Mario Bros. Toadsworth is an unnecessary addition.

I really wish they would change Peach's B move... but that move has been shown at least three times already... but then again, we saw the train stage with Toon Link many times before he was confirmed. There are times that I feel that Toad is really 100% deconfirmed... and there are other times that I feel that Sakurai is probably trolling us into thinking he is 100% deconfirmed when he's not... but then I remember that Toad is not Ridley.

I think he's referring to the fact that Ridley actually fights(via a boss, but still) while Toad is just a one-use Move.

That's what I heard... but his Japanese fanbase aren't requesting for Toad enough... they are too quiet... almost as if they were disappointed that Toad was a move twice in Melee and Brawl... and they figured that he's probably never gonna be playable in Smash so they didn't bother requesting for Toad in SSB4... kinda like the opposite of Zoroark/Chrom where they are expected but not wanted and Toad is wanted but not expected.

@ Arcadenik : Sounds about right. Although I don't know why people expect Zoroark. He really has a fairly meh fanbase compared to Lucario. He didn't come off very well in the end. I don't mean his furry fanbase, which is much bigger. (I don't have problem with furries, mind you)

Well, there's a freakishly high chance that someone will be revealed next week with Yoshi's New Island coming out in NA/EU next Friday and Pokemon Battle Trozei coming out in Japan on Wednesday.

In regards to new Mario characters, I agree that we probably won't get another one UNLESS it's someone who's off the wall and nobody really expected. My guess if this happens? E. Gadd. Groans would circumnavigate the internet but I could totally see it happening before the likes of Daisy, Bowser Jr, etc.

Yoshi's coming guys, in two Fridays. Or maybe Sakurai is going to reveal him earlier than it's game's release like he did with Sonic, but I think that was an exception due to the Direct. Also, I'm expecting a Yoshi-centered Direct in two weeks which would be the perfect moment to reveal him playable (and maybe buffed/reworked?) in Sm4sh.
