Yes, like it or not, retro characters are different. They're icons from the past and they are the stars of those single or few games they appeared in.

Donkey Kong is an on going franchise, one in which he hasn't appeared for a long time span. He has been replaced by one-shot characters, retro characters aside many Smash characters have recent appearances in the era the Smash game they were introduced.

The Captain has been in Smash since the beginning and is considered the mascot of his series. Heck he's much more recognized here than by F-Zero. And again, he's a veteran, not a hypothetical newcomer like K. Rool.

And you've still acknowledged neither your misunderstanding of relevancy nor why K. Rool's last appearance matters. Still didn't address how K. Rool would assumingly lose Nintendo money.

Still waiting on that.

Idk what it is. I am a very weird person. I cant even stand Scalloped Potatos. the ones from the box, homemade ones are ok

Being a "mascot" from a decadeless series has no support in this argument. And being in since the first game isn't a good argument either, especially that Sakurai tried to cut Ness for a Mother 3 character before. They are lots of characters that are more recognized in Smash, some of which have been cut from later installments.

And recency ≠ relevancy (why is that so hard to understand?)

I never understood how classes are even finished before May. I can understand finals, but the whole semester? Doesn't make sense to me

It was seriously amazing. We sat on a table with people who we'd never met and shared food around. Places like that don't exist in Australia.

My time in America was literally a giant food-eating tour. I even attempted a food challenge in Amarillo.

Nope. Smashboards should make a sister site, called SpecBoards. 100% dedicated to speculation. Not just Smash Bros., but everything.
