Gotta say, it's nice how no one is even pretending to tolerate "relevance" as an argument. It's really refreshing, especially when it has no bearing whatsoever on how enjoyable a character would actually be in the game.
I think it's worth noting how far and away the two biggest first party ballot requests in K. Rool and Isaac were the two biggest targets of "relevance" fanatics before release and the ballot's launch. I can't help but wonder whether that is playing a role in them performing so well...like, all of the militant users informing everyone "You're gonna eat your Inkling/Captain Toad/Dixie/Chorus Kids veggies, and you're gonna like them!" and everyone collectively shrugging and going "NOPE! K. Isaac time!"
No offense to those characters' fans, but it was really annoying when the community at large treated them as the only viable options, and anyone requesting anyone else as a fool. You still see it among various subsections of fans..."Oh, your character may win the ballot, but this character is relevant and/or a piece of remnant data! You dummies aren't affecting anything because they already have a list planned!"
