You know what's kind of frustrating?

Sometimes, I'm watching anime. There are interesting concepts in the story, but the characters are cliché'd and the story itself isn't nothing to write home about in the end.

Just like every medium, I guess. There's always the cliché'd, samey stuff every year, but there are the occasional masterpieces...

On the other hand, I'd say we only appreciate masterpieces because there's a lot of mediocrity overall.

In a way, I guess that's not a bad thing after all.

And that's enough rambling. Back to watching anime. See ya.

I'm watching Guilty Crown right now. (Just paused at the break...)

It's an average sci-fi story. Has mecha, fictional virus and whatnot. The interesting concept are the Voids.

A lot of the characters follow common archetypes, though. Shu is a typical cowardly protagonist, Inori is a typical mysterious waif, Gai is a typical badass manly guy and so on. Like a lot of anime series, it has your typical high-school setting for non-action scenes...

On the last point, I already lost count of the anime/manga series that had school settings. lol Even great series like Code Geass, Death Note or Parasyte had them. This is probably one of the biggest clichés in anime and manga.

Every anime has to have a school setting. It's as important as having to be Japanese to be considered anime.

Hello everyone! I have come here to say:

HAPPY 25th ANNIVERSARY DR. MARIO!!!

That's right, today marks 25 years since was released for both NES & Game Boy back in 1990! Let there be many more years & games to come!

To celebrate, I have made a new update on my Dr. Mario sprite project:

Changes since last update:
- Added giant capsule halves
- Added the 3 Zapper pieces from Miracle Cure
- Added a Tetris tile just for fun (design is based off an active Tetris piece in "Tetris & Dr. Mario")
- Added a mystery tile that can found in the data of Dr. Mario 64. I have no idea what it is or its purpose but I put it in for the sake of completion.
- Added new playfield bottle colors taken from Miracle Cure (Light Blue: Dr. Mario mode, Green: Dr. Luigi mode, Blue, Virus Buster mode)
- Reworked the tileset layout so everything is in its respective color box, including space for when I make the virus animation frames (sooner or later I'll stop procrastinating on the part...)

There's much more to come on my project so I ain't finished by a long shot.
