I wasn't implying that females can't watch that stuff or anything :) However: Did you know that, like nudity, Japan has a hard ceiling on how detailed violence can be? (Despite the fact they're tolerant of both in media). So gory anime like Higurashi barely even scratch the surface of how far into the depths you can go
