I remember always waiting for the next episode of Dragon Ball, and then eventually Z. My tastes have changed a lot, since I really don't care for the series at all anymore. I can't really remember what else I watched besides Naruto sometimes.

I recall one anime with x-ray glasses or something though, and I met a guy once that had entire box set anime collections, he showed me the first episode of... Elfen Lied, and Rosario + Vampire. I ended up watching the rest of the latter online.
