So, this is a quick poll made to determine the top fifteen and bottom ten. Only a handful of people were poll'd and they're all players like Nairo, Dabuz and ESAM. Our angels didn't make it into the top fifteen, but they were one of the runner-ups. They're considered top twenty. I'm surprised to see them put that high up... Honestly, I believe they could be higher, but I didn't think top players thought that much of them.

1.Nairo and Pink Fresh need to put in more work to get the Pits higher.
2. Floor Ice Cream

Off topic, but is there anything that determines whether he says "What's up now?!" or "That was easy!" for the bow-spinning victory pose, or is it just randomly selected?
I don't think so. I always preferred his "victory" pose better than the other 2, so I don't mind if there's no way to change it.

Kid Icarus: Uprising is my all-time favourite game. It's a near-perfect game as far as I'm concerned
My thoughts exactly :)

But I picked up Pit much before I heard of Uprising. I started out in Brawl mostly using Link and Marth because I like Zelda games and swordfighting. I wanted to get some awesome offstage KOs but I was afraid of dying all the time, so I picked a character with wings. First time I tried Pit I realized his bow was the weapon of my dreams with how it can be twin blades or a bladed staff. I maimed him but mostly just because I thought he was cool and I had fun doing flashy arrow gimps/fair chains.

Then I saw the announcement for KIU. I couldn't contain my hype. The gameplay was amazing and my favorite Brawl character was getting a cool game. I went to a tournament to get the game a day early(I recall Dabuz won) and it remains my most played 3ds game(quite possibly of all time). Also the first game I played online extensively and joined forums for. I liked Dark Pit more mostly because of the color scheme and was kinda dissappointed with not being able to play him more often, but that's what playing as the Dark Team was for ;P

Coming into Sm4sh I knew Pit was gonna be my main. I decided to main Dark Pit as well when I saw some leakage(and false info about significant differences). I like the playstyle and ability to adapt to whatever situation on top of everything. I may switch out my secondary a few times, but (Dark)Pit shall always stay my main.

Did you know you can choose a victory pose with the D-pad? Just hold it down until your character appears. Right is "What's up now?" or "That was easy!" and there doesn't seem to be a way to influence it. I've held every button combined with right and wasn't able to control it.

Actually, the odds seem to be 50/50, but I'd rarely ever get the same message twice in a row. The weird SSB4 RNG strikes again.

Holding up gives you "Victory!" and left is "It's game over for you!" Down doesn't do anything.

One time, a friend of I did a match with nothing but explosives. And the Cucco. That chicken's deadlier than any explosive.
Guardian Orbitars > Cuccos.

Wish my internet wasn't on the fritz... Haven't been able to play without extreme lag lately.

Can't even post to Smashboards without being hilariously late...

Once my friend stole my stock, and I die at 300%, on for him to get ko'd in five seconds.

I picked up Smash 4 after not having played any Smash game in a while, which was almost all Melee because only 1 of my friends had a Wii. So I was basically catching up on 2 games worth of new characters and had a lot to take in. As I was trying everyone out, I was maybe a little bit more excited to try Pit because his arrows looked extremely fun to use. And I was right.

I instantly ceased experimentation with other characters and began practicing to perfect the arrows. Then I started to learn his moveset all-around and fell in love with Pit's forward air. Then I fell in love with his throw combos. Then Upperdash. Then down air. And before I knew it I felt like I had been playing with Pit for years.

I knew nothing about KI before playing Pit in Smash 4, but about a month ago I decided to get Uprising when my curiousity had spiked and I absolutely loved it. Easily fits in my top 5 games of all time and just adds more to my love for Pit in Smash 4.

So I just recently started using customs. And I haven't used Pit yet, but I feel like with the Guiding Bow, Dark Pit is better than regular Pit. Is this true? Or is 3113 Pit still just overall better than Dark Pit.

Either way, if that Guiding Bow was the standard instead of a custom, Both Pits would be top tier. Matter of fact, why isn't the Guiding Bow standard for regular Pit and regular Pit arrows standard for Dark Pit?

If Pit had arrows that had the speed of Palutena Bow, the strength of Silver Bow, and the length of Guiding Bow, Pit would be top tier instantly. Also, combining Upperdash with Quickdadh would make him even better.

You just described Brawl arrows with a couple of nerfs, I believe! Though I prefer the Guiding Bow over the Brawl Bow.

Honestly the Guiding Bow is just so good that the endlag is definitely forgivable. The best part about it is that it just seems like Pit. When I have the Guiding Bow, I just feel like that's how the character was intended to be played. Those curved arrows dictate the entire match.

I'll be sleeping peacefully tonight dreaming of an alternate dimension where Pit has the Guiding Bow and Dark Pit has Palutena's Bow. I mean, that would just change their whole character. Pit would be the clearly superior character, but Dark Pit would gain an advantage in the sense that his arrows would have less endlag, making them a bit more spammable, while sacrificing controllability. But it wouldn't sacrifice conrtrollability so much that it makes the idea of controlling the bows redundant. I didn't play KIU, but what about Dark Pit's character suggests he shouldn't be able to control arrows the way Pit does?

But that would also buff Dark Pit in that his Electroarm would automatically become that much more lethal with Palutena's Bow arrows because the follow-ups would be that much more feasible--one thing that Pit couldn't do with the Upperdash Arm. You get the arrow follow-up tradeoff for less kill viability. After that, keep the forward tilt differences for all I care because now you have a legitimate change in strategy between the two characters. I couldn't even complain! I wouldn't even need their SideB's to be any different because their kill power would be that much greater and their characters would be that much more complete.

They really should've been more liberal with the customs when designing their movesets.

I actually was gonna add Brawl's arrows, but I left it out. If Pit had arrows that were the same size and speed as Palutena Bow and Guiding Bow's movement, he'd be one of the best. They'd probably nerf the Electroshock Arm if he had arrows like Pit has, since the Upperdash Arm is strong, but the bows are weak compared to Brawl's. If Smash 5 has customs, then the Pits should use different weapons from Uprising, or replace Electroshock with Pandora claws.

Man I don't know why they'd need Electroarm to be nerfed anymore. For what it is, it already has a whole bunch of drawbacks

- doesn't kill as well as Upperdash. Actually not reliable for killing at all unless you're at a certain place at a certain percent.
- massive endlag
- whiff with it even an inch under the stage and that's an automatic death
- weaker in the air
- reflects projectiles at an unusable angle, with some exceptions
- sends you into a few seconds of complete vulnerability if you hit a projectile
- only does 9% damage
- the super armor is really weird
- doesn't work on yellow Pikmin

All that just because the attack has super armor and can kill at the edge? Yeesh. It has the most drawbacks/less than desirable effects of any super armor attack in the game.

But yes, they should have different customs in the next game. Hopefully they both get different movesets, even if it means one retains his moveset from this game.

Imagine Pit using Hedgehog and Brawler Claws or Dark Pit with Pandora Claws. That would be boss, having it so they have a weapon from all 9 classes

yeah in that regard, their customs could have been used much better. I'd like to see what they could do with those instead of terrible Electroarm variants
We have to wait another 25 years toilk they get new customs and 22 years for a sequel(not serious).

Electroshock does 11.5% grounded, 9.5% in the air. Main reason to use it is to use it offstage where most characters can't make it back if they're hit by it. Between the SA and how it'll activate off of dodges, it's surprisingly safe. Characters with horizontal recoveries like Luigi or DK in particular are destroyed by it.

If you're having trouble with the SA, get closer. It's really that easy.

We don't have many moves with SA that move, and especially not ones that have SA this long. Thing is that it would well and truly trump projectiles at short range if it always reflected or charged through. Look at Greninja, he in particular is afraid of doing anything but shielding at midrange against us. Villager has similar problems with the Gyroid (and leads to shield breaks if you hit him with the arm and Gyroid).

I could always see them using the claws as a custom side special (instead of the terribad Upprcut/Electrocut that we got), maybe like a faster but weaker version of Bowser's Dash Slash?
I like the idea of being like Marth's Fspecial but it has to do the whole combo, myself. Especially if it moves far, it'll be good at covering landings. In the air... There's a couple ways to make it interesting.

Speaking of using weapons from Uprising... What could they do with Blades, Palms, Clubs (no the Ore Club doesn't count, anyone can use it), Cannons, and in the case of Pit, Staffs?

I could see them using a Palm (Violet or Cutter for Pit, Midnight or Cursed for DP) for grabs and pummels myself.

Bows, Claws, Arms, and Blades used next time hopefully. Uppercut and Electrocut suck really bad.

I'd rather not use Palms for grabs and stuff... Gimmick grabs are either bad or absolutely god-awful.

Making use of the Midnight Palm's BDCS would be pretty cool, but I'm not sure how it'd work. Maybe it'd have three levels of charge, starting with a single cont. fire, basically a dud, then a DCS that slowly travels forward and stops projectiles a bit, and lastly the BDCS which is this giant moon thing which stops projectiles completely and catches airdodges.

Honestly, Interception and Electrocut aren't absolute trash. They're best offstage for blocking recoveries. (Pretty sure they both launch at an angle like the Electroshock.) It's just that the trade off isn't worth it in most matchups, and the ones it is worth it are usually in our favor anyway. They're just too obscure is all.
