okay, so i was really bored and just messing around, and i found that it's really easy to actually HIT the spike on ROB. I know it's easy for him to recover. anyone else thought about this? it's just that usually if i try to spike and they don't airdodge, i'll get the tip about half the time. for rob it's more like 90%.

Rob is one of the few characters i might actually attempt to spike. Pretty much everyone else i rely on fairs and bairs off stage.

Directly above you tipping a dair.
I go for the spike regaurdless of the character (with the few exceptions being pit and mk on occasion). Since im confident that i can recover, there is no reason for me not to. Rob is easy to spike (i think so at least) when he recovers low enuff for u to hit him.

The reason for you not to is that Fair is easier to lock on and just as if not more effective in most situations.

did you know marths Dair has two places where a spike can be done .
i have noticed that if you dair then forwards where the animation is barely out they do down in a diagonal direction.

and when you with dair that is fully out and and hey go straight down

havent you guys notice that the dair in melee/brawl sometimes makes them go diagonally down or straight down

I hear you but i wont pass up the chance to spike someone if it presents itself to try and go for a tipper fair. I find it a little easier to tipper my diars than it is to tipper my fairs.
Wow, are you serious? You can tipper your dairs easier than fairs, thats awesome.

ok i don't know whats up with you, or if you're joking, because somehow you have 2,000 posts but are saying the above^^^. thats pretty obvious. I'm sorry... but yeah. same thing with other spikes. depending on your timing and position they go at a different angle.

I attempt to meteor smash him, but he can get back up...
haha i know i said that he gets back up, but it's gonna have startup time on the upb so it won't be extremely far, and i'd guess past about 50 he's dead.

i agree.

Restating the obvious is something that is unfortunately a normal part of forums.
You can never assume a person knows it all already.

YOU MUST RESTATE RESTATE RESTATE.
Because otherwise someone will make a topic saying "how" or "what?" or "OMG NEW ORSOOM TEXNIK!"

The Marth forums are very guilty of the above situation.
a) Because *******s don't bother reading topics.
OR
b) Those smaller bits of information are not easily accessible.
OR
c) Spam.

Seph restating the obvious is a positive in my books. Don't cringe, go with the flow.

If ROB attempts to recover, try going for a stage spike with dolphin slash.

And yes, most of the time fair is better than dair. However, at low percentages where a fair won't kill them and you happen to have them offstage for a random reason, go for the spike. They might recover, they might not. But an early kill isn't something to pass over lightly.

Robs can also tend to have a ball offstage thanks to their up b (I think I remember Overswarm enjoying things like that), so if you think that they're running low send them down and they won't be able to come back without a good punishment.

And I think I'll disagree with everyone here and say that at around 70-90% dair is more effective than fair, because dair is almost a guaranteed kill if tippered while fair is still recoverable at that percent.
