I figure we have to reboot this thing eventually, but the scoring system is now good for the long haul. I don't know if this Ladder will end by the end of October. I don't even know if it will end soon. Even if you sign up now, you aren't being forced to play. You could sign up now and then play your first match weeks from now.

When you decide to get it on, all I need is your Friend Code (which is already in your profile) and your Brawl Tag.

yeah its kidna broken 1 win puts you in like. 4th lol, its really easy to get up to the top staying tehre can be mroe difficult. being in 2nd ish place is the hardest
cuz if first place always beats you, it will take froever to get above him by beating lower plcaes alot becuase they hardly give an coins.


so this is why i fgure il just have to keeep trying to ebat chic until i do. its good practise anyways.

There has to be a balance between being able to catch up with someone you are better than, and not climbing so fast. Either "1 win puts you in like 4th", or it'll take forever to catch up to people you're better than.

But I think you might be onto something about giving losers more coins if they lose to someone who is way better than them. But WiGi, all you have to do to be 2nd place is beat ANYONE above and below you. You could beat someone with 0 coins and still surpass Player01 for 2nd place.

Beating someone with a few coins less than you will still net you up to 5 coins.

yeah i just noticed that whoever i beat other than chic would only result in 2 coins.

maybe beating a specific player should result in X amount of coins. Maybe you should divide each players score by 6 and that number would be the amount of coins earned for beating them.

for example: if someone has 25 points then beating that player earns the you 5 coins and beating a player with 2 coins earns you 1 coin.

any decimal rounds up.

im just throwing ideas out there. maybe ill think of something better later.

That's incorrect. Beating WiGi will net you 5 Coins. Beating me will give you 4 Coins. And beating hippiedude will get you 3.

I like that you're thinking about this. I had a hard time trying to come up with a system. The way you described it would result in some problems. Anyone starting from 0 will have to beat the top player more than 6 times to overtake him. The same applies to every single player above him. Climbing would be rigorous. Less bad is that higher score players playing against each other will earn more points than lower score players playing against each other... so the point gap between top and bottom will be big.

I'm still thinking on how to make the system better. Ideas are welcome, but don't be discouraged when I don't agree.

No, no team battles, cause the lag will be godly ****** us hard. When I mean crew/clan/team wars, just basically read what i said earlier. We'll be fighting each other indivdiually and contributing our wins (or coins or w/e). Besides, i always wanted to team up with like alias or something lol.

yeah el that idea i came up with wasnt too great now that you point out some flaws but ill try to think of something. that crew battle idea sounds great and i would want in. btw is there ever gonna be a reward for playing bo5?

for the team battle thing maybe we need to have an online skills check so the teams can come out evenly so its not a clearly better team vs a clearly worse team.

yeah hippiedude is right no actual team battle just adding up team members coins for an overall score would be more fun imo.

I agree we still need some incentive to entice winners of Bo3s into extending to Bo5. Perhaps while winning a Bo5 gives you 5+(Loser's Coins-Winner's Coins)/2, Minimum 2 like normal, winning a Bo3 will only net you 2+(Loser's Coins-Winner's Coins)/2, Minimum 0.

About picking teams, I'm thinking about having a pair of Captains take turns picking the teams. Like the olden days in the schoolyard.

I like how Player01 called it a crew battle idea. It's perfect because if we call them teams, there will be confusion over what we mean by teams. Since this is about battles, this thing will be about Squads.

Let me know how the following sounds to you.

• I see about 6 active Ladder members, so 3v3 or 2v2v2 feels right.
• Squadmates are picked in some sort of random way, or balanced by rank (top w/ bottom, middle w/ middle), or picked by captains in turn.
• Squads pick their name and color (just for fun).
• Gaining and losing Coins is based on some sort of stealing system.

Anything else before I start making stuff up and setting them in stone?

The only way for a balanced team with captains is for the captains to be 2 evenly matched people who have played every other person to see who is better than who.

Squad sounds like we are a group of Luigi cops imo
