Relating to the discussion of opening the backroom to normal forum users, what about meeting half way and enabling read status of threads in the forum, but add a significant time delay on it as well? I can appreciate how the back room team doesn't want their discussions spilling over into the main forums, but what if a delay as much as a couple of months was added onto this forum? That way, the privacy of discussions could be preserved, the debates wouldn't leak out onto the main forums, but the casual reader of this board would be subject to more insightful commentary about smash bros?

Or, what about any topic that hasn't been posted in over two weeks is readable by the public? I understand why the backroom wants to be preserved, but i think it could be valuable for the masses to gain the knowledge that professional smashers have acquired.

I really have to disagree about Ness necissarily being a clone if he really is in. Ness had almost none of his actual moves from the game in SSB64 and Melee. So, I feel it is a good possibility that they may do to him what we suspect they are doing with G-Dorf. Give him a totally new moveset mmore true to the character.

Well right, it's not so much about feeling left out in the dark about the decisions the back room makes. Rather, it's wanting to understand the process that goes into it, understanding the justification behind multiple perspectives that go into inconclusive topics.

Panda, just so you kjow, you have been doing a fantastic job filling in for Youko in his absence. I'm loving that you are spliting up the segments into 5 parts!

Also, I have an idea for a Friday podcast...

If you listened to the podcast all the way through, you'd know the answer. :)

EDIT:
The most recent one, I mean. Monday's.

We just finished recording, and now I have to edit it. No idea when it'll be done. And I seriously don't think I can move back to my dorm today because I'm doing the podcast so late :/

I had a dream about Youko last night kind of weird.

Some guy was standing outside of a castle in a plastic rain coat next to youko. So i walked outside and i started talking to the guy in the coat and he was like. Im not coming out of the rain until Youko lets me on his show.

And youko said "yeah i dont let non-important members on my podcast".

So i said "Oh ok then im going back inside"

Magnificent job Samurai and Gimpyfish. Wow. It was an awesome hour of my life. I just finished listening to your podcast and I agree with Samurai and how accents are. I took Chinese for two years and apparently, I didn't have an "accent" when I talked, even though I am technically Chinese. My family descends from China, but they moved to Malaysia about a century ago, thats all I know, and I'm also a notch of Porteguese, Malaysian, and French, but just a little. I pull off French way better than I do with Chinese even though I look absolutely Asian.

Anyway, yeah...accents...I took two years, but I barely passed the second year, because the teacher got all mad at me for not performing an accent and the correct tones with each word/character I said. He thought I was some kind of "special" educated kid and thats when I decided I'd be better off in French and it turns out I am. Point being...accents are absolutely heinous in Asian cultures. Haha, I'm bashing my culture.

I appreciate you and Gimpy for bringing up everything I asked for, from the Serebii controversy, to the Jump Festa recap. It was a great introduction. Lastly, I wished Sakurai (or should I say the Nintendo Marketeers) HAD said lovehandles instead. But then again, Japan doesn't use that particular word in their language, as I know of. "Lovehandles" is an American "slang" word I think.

Anyway, can't wait for the 2nd part of the update. Hope you bring up something interesting. But I think you and Gimpy already handled the main rumors of this month. On a sidenote, you left out Sothe (from Fire Emblem 10: Radiant Dawn for the Wii) and Duster (Mother 3) for assists from Jump Festa. That's not me calling them, thats what others are saying in the Forums. Some people are citing a Japanese blog for them. The only question I think worth bringing up in a discussion is how much representation are we going to get from the Fire Emblem franchise. Seems like they are emphasizing more over their recent game. The only thing to debunk this is Marth's return, but that still takes up one more month of time just waiting. *Sigh* Well, anyway, can't wait.

Stop rushing the poor dude. Its probably late where he is coming from. He's in college doing a podcast for video game fans. Cut the dude some slack (I say dude because I'm a Southern California kid-I grew up with this word in my lingo-I don't say dude because I'm moody, which is how a lot of people use the term unfortunately). I'm surprised he hasn't been bashed by the other toga wearing drunks (its a misconception and a stereotype, but college students do drink alcohol, not all, but more than some), but then again, these dudes are probably into Halo. Not my cup of tea.

I think it was a great podcast, but the Easter Egg I didn't like. SamuraiPanda, you shouldn't have made it seem as though you can learn to speak Japanese by simply watching anime for a few years. Most of the time, the sort of Japanese you learn from anime is useless if you want to live in Japan. It may have been different for you, but the key to learning Japanese is starting with polite dialogues, and slowly progressing into the casual speech and slang you find in anime.

lumber, accents in Chinese are important. You can say an entirely different word depending upon which parts of the words you stress and put accents on.

Its finally up. Sorry about how late this episode was, I've been EXTREMELY busy trying to get things ready to move back tomorrow. I was very close to delaying it a day, but then I figured better late today then tomorrow.
