Should PSA characters get their own board?

So, DD, you'd be ok with it if your mew2 thread was copypasted onto an index like Yingyay's, and allowed to die?

I support a PSA board.
Two threads aren't enough =/
On the genral info thread there are as much "help me what I'm doing doesn't work" stuff than "I found out the code XXXXXXX affects blah blah blah" stuff, and important info is often missed. The two of them need a separate sticky imo...

That, and a thread per user(or team) sounds okay ; the lol ones would die quickly as Lol chars get boring fast, while the good ones would get bumped often enough because it became almost common sense that making balanced characters is the Walhalla ; I don't honestly think we'd crawl under tons of little projects and miss the good ones. A mod would close threads if someone did a new thread everytime he creates a new character of course.

Then there may be fancy stuff like "best char of the month", stuff like that that is not important but would be cool to have.

Without feedback, how do you expect your thread to accumulate enough posts to stay on page one? You wouldn't get much feedback at all if the project got shunted off to one of the back pages.

This is what I'm getting at; these threads have no reason to exist unless the feedback goes in them. Not only is it the main reason for them to exist (imo), but they need it to thrive.

ON TOPIC: If there was a separate section for PSA characters, I can guarantee that everyone who changed one move, and think that they're so cool will post characters, and I, for one, wouldn't want that happening!
That's already possible with the index thread, and I believe it's already happened at least a few times.

Next month I wont be able to update that thread anymore so it would be a great idea to make a separate board.
This is another problem I thought of. Someone's not always going to be available to maintain an index, especially if enough people are making characters. I know there are other people that can switch off, but it's going to involve a lot of switching off and a lot of creation of the same exact thread so that a person is able to edit the first post and thus update it.

T_T; No. I'm just sayin' there are ways to get feedback.

There are other ways to get feedback, but it's a lot more convenient to do it in a thread, in my opinion. If it's by PM, it's just a back-and-forth between two people and no one else can give their input, maybe they feel the same way and can expand on it further, etc.

I'm all for the creation of a PSA character board. The biggest complaint seems to be that too many broken characters/barely edited characters will crop up in their own threads, but there are already some stupidly broken characters in the thread (hell, the very first one posted). The only difference is that it would be slightly less cramped.

Truth be told, if an active enough moderator is assigned to the board, they could lock threads for characters that are uber-broken (not characters that are unbalanced, as that's a little hard to judge, but characters that do 999% in one hit or something, or that have really large hitboxes, or something else like that) or at least threads of characters with one or two minor edits.

At the very least, everyone could just not even post in threads like that and they'll die.

Plus, there are people already creating their own threads for it which hurts the usefulness of the index. Like the custom music hub, which is a great idea to keep people from flooding the board with music threads, and then people do it anyways.

The character edits will never end up as any sort of tourney standard, so I don't think that's an argument for a separate board, but I think it would be much more convenient and clear up at least some of the clutter of this board.

This. So much this.

I believe the hub is mainly for submitting music that one has already made. The other ones are people taking requests from those who don't know how to do it/those who don't have time to do it. So the multiple music threads do have justification to exist.

Yeah, I stopped adding chracters that were barely edited or characters that are stupid broken, But by the very first one posted you wouldnt happen to be talking bout Shishigami sheik would you? (O_O) lol nah but still. As long as we set guidelines for posting characters we should be fine and people who post characters outside the guidelines should be bared from posting another character.

It looks like have have near unanimous agreement, thus far. Should I pm a mod a link to this thread/summarize it? Or is there a place in the forum that I've missed where you can make these kind of suggestions?

True, although it really isn't that hard to convert songs yourself so I'm not really sure why there need to be multiple shops for it...but that's just me.

Haha, no, I'm talking about the very first post in the thread; "Epic Falcon".

There's the "Questions and Suggestions" thread in the Pool Room.

Not Only PSA Characters. The whole PSA Project should get its own Board (Guides etc. would be Stickies).
Balanced Brawl and Brawl+ should get there own Boards too.

I concur, except Balanced Brawl and Brawl+ can share the Smash Workshop pretty well. After all, there's been only a single Balanced Brawl thread. At all. (To my knowledge.)

I posted in the Questions and Suggestions thread, and I got this as a response:
As for the Workshop-related issues, please talk to the group leaders first and if you guys reach a decision, they can bring it up in the staffer shack.
...Group Leaders?

Alright. It would have made more sense if he just said "Mods."

Anyways, Neko - You're a BRoomer, so obviously more qualified than I am. Go bug him.

I approve of this idea. Making a separate forum for B+ would be a good idea too.

i think the main ones: roy, mew2, wisp etc should have their own place, as they are serious ones that are kinda meant for some form of competative play eventually. all the rest should stay at the PSA thread

The main ones? First of all, who determines that? Secondly....

On top of the three characters you mentioned, there's also the PSA Guide Thread, as well as PhantomWing's own topic. That's five topics dedicated to PSA, not including all the side-topics that splash about.

Either you think that five the five topics don't clog up the forum, or they do. And if they do, there's no point in limiting additional characters from getting their own topic, which would also be better for question threads.

This is a good example of what it would look more like if we had a separate subform.
