Gen 8 is going to be great. Gamefreak is really working themselves hard to make this game possible. They told us that we can expect a true "evolution" to the gameplay from the previous Gen games. Maybe that new Mewtwo movie coming this year will give us a hint.
What makes you so certain Shantae has to have a rapid jab? She only remotely attains that kind of speed with heavy (and optional) upgrades, but after some thinking there's just no way they could animate her head swinging at the speed it would need to link properly and make it look good. It could very easily be a single hit like Isabelle's, but with good reach (possibly longer than her ftilt).
Your first and most critical my mistake there is underestimating Sakurai and his team in that department. They like stay faithful and you can bet if anyone can do it and make it look good, they can. They've done tougher before.
I'm expecting we're gonna be getting a taste of Gen 8 soonish. Feels like they seem to show off the starters and some things at the start of the year, and then release the game in November. I don't know when the last time we got some new Pokemon in the movies before we've had the game, but maybe we'll see something this year. From what I want to see from Gen 8, I would like to see some older Pokemon get evolutions. There's a few from Gen 1 I would like to see get more.
That is false, Pichu has no sexual dimorphism (physical difference dictated by gender) Pikachu and Raichu both have different tails depending on thier gender, but not pichu. The Spiky Eared Pichu was a special event pokemon for HeartGold/Soul Silver and was one of the few pokemon who could not be transferred out of that generation.
OK, but what if they think representing the hair whip as a single hit that can be repeated is more faithful than a jab inifinite?
Like I said, she has plenty of other moves and tools that fit a jab. And that's even going into "Brave"'s hitbox size, lack of a wall jump, etc.

Well the detective pikachu spirit uses the shop music but you don’t hear that on battlefield for all I know

Ah man, this looks great! Would like to have something like this to show off. I wanted a Shantae shirt for a while now but as it turns out I'm extremely picky about shirts. Art wise aside, I'm just a big guy and have sensitive skin so I want them to be loose feeling. Finding bigger shirts feels more like a pain then it should be.
The tweet that Matt made not too long after the November Direct where arguably it was confirmed that all the DLC picks had been made, hence Rex not making it in. He essentially tried to rally support for Shantae as DLC, likely not knowing that to be the case, which is in issue in itself already.

That's why I said it's only really looking bad for her in Season 1. DLC beyond that should be more fair game for her if we get such.

Shantae is a terrible character who stars in terrible games with basic flaws in its mechanics and I have only heard of one of the games in the entire series being called good

uhh its actually a few weeks away given its Japan release.
Better to be on the quiet side then going all out on the attention. Or else it will end up backfiring in a bad way for the online communities to lose respect towards her

I don't know what kind of spirit it is. I've been trying to find out online, but all I can find are just lists of every spirit with no detail.
Couldn't be due to anything like not being able to implement transformation features etc, since Zelda could do it just fine in the past. If she's not ever getting in this one, it'd be nice to know why, or at least WayForward just say it if they know.
